Mexicali Grille

For some reason, we always hung out here when I went to school at University of Georgia. We always would get margaritas there..very good. The food is alright, and the service is good. I'd go back.

While it's true that the food isn't amazing, this is still a nice cheap place to hang out and share some margaritas or a bucket of beers, and then down some inexpensive (and perfectly fine, if basic) food when you get hungry after all the drinking.

Mexicali Grille is a family and college friendly place with the best cheese dip ever! No one can compare in that area. We've even tried to make it ourselves but can't seem to get the right texture and consistency with it. The service is good and the food portions are huge. Great bang for the buck. Wonderful deck seating for those brisk nights. Family owned this place has been around for years. The owners are very nice and frequently talk with the customers to check if all is ok with their meal, service, etc... We'll continue to dine here for years to come.

This place makes a great margarita. The food on the other hand leaves something to be desired. The service is slow and there just seems to be something off with the quality of the food. If you're looking for mexican there are better places in town such as Aqua Linda. Also, they will not split checks for large parties.
