Well i switched to Sunshine Pediatrics when we moved to Winder and we have had nothing but bad experiences with her.I have 2 children and with my daughter she kept getting a rash on her face and i took her to dana Hogan at least 5 different times for this. She would prescribe a different creme for each time and kept telling me to elliminate things from her diet.Nothing worked.Needless to say about $400 later after $40 co-pays and perscriptions that didn't work she finslly agreed to send me to a specialist.Well the first visit he gave me 6 weeks worth of antibiots and her infection was cleared up.Never came back. Now my son who is 2 was breathing very heavy and had a cold a few weeks ago and i called the office first thing in the morning they got me in.But the only thing she gave me was a machine for breathing treatments and a steroid to help breath.Well my husband and i were not happy. We took him straight to the Er and they saw him and did a chest x-ray right away.He had pneumonia!! They admitted him and the nurse said he was 40 breaths per minute. They had an IV with anibiotics within a half an hour.He stayed over night and got sent home with antibiotics. After finishing his antibiots he was doing well for 2 days and then he started with the mucus and green snot again. It was a Saturday and we tried calling Dr.Hogan to see if she could call him in more antibiotics before it started getting worse but she took over an hour to get back to me.Then when calling she was very rude! She proceeded to say she could not call anything in because it was the hospital that persrcribed it not her that for all she knows he could have a bladder infection. Now i know she had all the information because the hospital said they would be sending it to her.She said i would have to take him back to the hospital to get any more antibiotics.Well the hospital doesn't do refills!! Your pediatrician is supposed to.I realize she had not saw him,but she saw him the day he went to the ER so she knew how bad he was breathing, which i can't believe she didn't send me for a chest x-ray to begin with.Considering the Er doctor said he had to stay the night he might quit breathing.I know she is the all natural type but hello when you have pneumonia and are hospitalized i think you misssed a bit of something in the office.I do not recommend her to anyone.Dr.Hogan go smoke you another one you all natural lady!

Sarah S. You sound crazy! Really, legally they can not falsify the records, and they know this. Crazy!

We have been with Dr. Hogan for 6 years and with all 3 of our children, who have terrible ear issues, we have never had a problem getting in to be seen within 30 min. After delivering our two children at St. Mary's, she would spend time with us in the late and early hours of the day. She is very dedicated to her profession and to her patients.
God bless you Dr. Hogan and may God continue to guide you.

Dana Hogan at Sunshine Pediatrics is an amazing doctor. I do not like her partner, she's young and very inexperienced. She gave my child asthma drugs without even testing him to see if he had asthma. He doesn't. That makes me wonder how many other children don't have asthma but use the drugs daily. I do appreciate Dr. Hogan's homeopathic research, I love that she doesn't drug every little sniffle. I like it that she agrees with me about NSAIDS - I don't believe a normal fever is a sickness needing medication - and she doesn't either.

Dr Hogan is great but if she is ever out or her other doctor is there/ her partner doctor, STAY CLEAR!!!! Her partner, so called "Doctor" has no idea what she is doing and gave my infant an incorrect diagnosis which I knew it wasn't what she said it was anyways, but to sum it up, stick with Dr Hogan. Her partner is an IDIOT and will leave the room to go to other patients when she isn't even finished with the one she started!
Pro: Dr Hogan listens and cares and is by far a very smart doctor!
Con: No well room and sick room to ensure your well baby doesn't get sick. Also, can't get in same day if baby is sick.

Wow...I'm not quite sure where these two negative reviews came...they cannot be further from the reality of Dr. Hogan's experience and care. We absolutely LOVE Dr. Hogan. After being very unhappy with Gwinnett Pediatrics, we researched and found Dr. Hogan. Thank God! She was able to diagnose our daughter last year with a severe urinary infection that required a three night hospital stay. This was after taking her to Gwinnett Pediatrics twice to try and find out the cause of the persistent high fever. They didn't even suggest testing her urine. She showed such care when our daughter was in the hospital...even helping to bathe her one day. Since then, I have had no complaints with this fabulous doctor. She knows our names and gives individualized care, never rushing us out the door. She is thorough and gives some homeopathic suggestions...not just so quick to write up a prescription which I so appreciate. I cannot say enough about Dana Hogan. She is truly wonderful.

I took my son to Sunshine Pediatrics because we just had moved to Winder. The office is really small AND the doctor is not board certified!!! I will never take my son back here! We didn't see Dr Hogan but the other doctor and she just was not personable and didn't seem like she cared. We went once and never went back.

Pros: Example: best croissants in town

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

I have read the reviews that have been posted on this page, I have taken my children (2) to Dr. Dana Hogan since she opened her office in Winder. I honestly must say that when I walked in and my husband and I met her - she was not exactly what we expected. But today, 7 years later, I have a 8 year old daughter that I truly owe her life to Dr. Hogan. If it had not been for Dr. Hogan, my daughter Dakota would have probably died, but Dr Hogan spent more than the usual time with Dakota and found out that she had Kawasaki's Disease, and right away called in orders to the local hospital. Not only did she come in to make normal doctors rounds, but the first night that Dakota was in the hospital, she sat in the room with my husband and I and waited to see if the medicine was going to take affect. In May of this year my son, Zachary was admitted in the local hospital with a severe stomach flu, and again Dr Hogan was AWESOME! I wish she could be my doctor, she has always called back when her office is closed, and that has even included one time when she was on vacation visiting her family - what more could you ask for. I am truly happy that she has her practice here in Winder, she is a amazing doctor.

I have taken mychild to her more than one for being sick and having ear infestions and she not not once done anything! Both times he has wound up at the E.R. She was out of town on vacation once and had no one to rake call for her, I would NOT recommend her to anyone.

I thought I did all my homework when choosing Dr. Dana Hogan, however I now know better now. I will never take my child to Sunshine again. In a yr. she never saw my daughter for anything. When she had a 106 fever she told me I did not need try and lower it and that I did not need to come in. My daughter end up having a double ear infection. Another time they refused to see her and so I took her to my doctor and she had a sinus infection. Finally I brought her in because she was having dizzy spells and again Dr. Hogan would not even walk in the room to see us. She had her nurse tell us to take her to the ER in Augusta. They never did blood work of any sort. When I wanted her records to take her to another doctor. They refused to give them to me after I finally got them they had falsified them. They added information that never happened. She refused to see another extremelt sick child stating that she had to get to a fundraiser. The office should be shut down.
