My sister in law had my niece there about a year ago and I was very unhappy with the level of care they receieved prior to delivery and during labor. This hospital has just not kept up with the other facilities in the city in terms of care, comfort and concern. The facility itself is not very up-to-date and family friendly. Also, deicisions the nursing staff made in terms of her labor seemed archaic to me and made an extremely rough time for my sister in law. There are plenty of other places to have a baby in Atlanta, make sure your physician is affiliated with one of them.

I had surgery on my nose(due to skin cancer) three times at Piedmont Hospital. The staff was very kind and caring. They were the only hospital I've ever been in who used a topical anesthesia before inserting IVs. They tried to make things as comfortable as possible for me, and I felt confident that I was getting the best possible care. I highly recommend Piedmont Hospital.
PROS: caring, expert doctors and other staff, clean, well-run
CONS: some waiting, as in any hospital

Although I live in Marietta and am not far from several other hospital options, Piedmont Hospital has been my choice of facility whenever major events have occurred with my family requiring medical care. I have found that some of the specialists associated with this facility to be among the best that Atlanta has to offer. My 71 year old mother had been having problems with black outs where she would literally collapse unexpectedly, sustaining injuries from serious falls. She sought care at another hospital and several doctors. When she went to Piedmont for consultation - they admitted her immediately for emergency pacemaker surgery and told her that she might not have survived had she not come there that day! (she had been complaining of problems to other facilities for months!) She has not had a problem since. My late father, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, had a number of stays at Piedmont. His neurologist was one of the leading specialists in that area. We did have one terrible experience with a particular gastro doctor who was horribly rude and unprofessional. I guess no place is perfect.
However, as a whole, I would recommend this hospital to others.

The place is not too exciting and has a little wait - but, I think this is the same with every other doctor's office. The people here are extremely nice and I even once changed an appointment at the last minute to the next day, and they did not even have a problem with it.
