.

Having recently moved to the area, I brought a new dog here for vaccines. Called first and was quoted $80 on the phone, the actual charge was over $160. Made the mistake of going back three weeks later for the DHPP booster and they wanted to charge another exam fee, another fecal test, etc. etc. in addition to the booster shot, for another $100+ visit. I said 'no thanks' and left.

I've had dogs for 20 years and NEVER have I been so disappointed with a vet before. I should have known when the waiting room was empty both Saturdays I went (usually a peak day at any vet) and PetCareTV was playing an endless loop infomercial (their website considers it a "client perk"). From the PetCare TV website concerning their reception area video: "Improved compliance by the pet owner is the objective resulting in an IMPROVED BOTTOM LINE for the veterinary practice."

With the unusually high prices (very few competitors in the area), threats that only the products they sell are effective (and if we don't buy them, the dog will get sick, we'll get sick, etc.), upsells for unwanted services and ridiculous "doctor exam" charge to get one booster shot just three weeks after a full exam, this place left me with the distinct impression that it is all about the BOTTOM LINE. I won't be back.
