I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Clardy and Dr. Hall. I'm a fairly new customer, having switched from a great vet that had poor and rude office employees and vet techs. From day 1 they welcomed me warmly and assured me they were available any time - office hours or not. I rescued a dog from Animal Control and when they found out they reduced nearly every fee and waived others. My daughter and her husband have used them several years and recently lost one of their dogs to cancer. Dr. Clardy called them daily to check on her and also arranged for her to be seen immediately at the Auburn Oncology Clinic. He consulted with the Oncologist and when she began to experience difficulty in breathing and had to be taken to Animal Emergency Hospital he offered to go there even though it was 11:30 p.m. He also called the vet 3 times to update him on her medical issues and to check on her condition.. After she died the entire staff sent a sympathy card and Dr. Clardy sent a personal card. I've never encountered vets who are as caring and concerned as Dr. Clardy and Dr. Hall. I'm happy with their services and have no plans to switch. Yes, I could probably get cheaper services elsewhere but sometimes you really do get (or not get) what you pay for.

This is why I thought zero stars was appropriate:

We had a awful, heartbreaking experience with Northside Animal Hospital last Friday. I am trying to let people know this story, before something happens to the pet they love. We had a six year old Maltese that was fine on Thursday, woke up sick Friday. We took her here, she was visibly a very sick dog and she became under the care of Dr. Matt Clardy. We had blood work, and X rays done on her, and was told by Dr. Clardy that he was concerned that her blood sugar was low, it was 66 but other than that they couldn't really find anything wrong with her. He said they would keep her, hydrate her and monitor her, and to come at 5pm to pick her up. We arrived at 5:10 and didn't receive Gracie until 6pm. At this point Dr. Clardy said they gave her something to raise her blood sugar and had perked up, which to us sounded odd, because she looked worse now than when we took her in. He had neglected to tell us while there those few hours they had let it drop to a deadly level of around 27, it was as I said 66 when she went in.
As we left we were once again told by Dr. Matt Clardy that they couldn't really find anything wrong with Gracie.

About three hours later around 915pm we were now on our way to the Animal Emergency Center on Manchester Exp. with a convulsing, visibly dying dog. The staff there whisked Gracie out of our arms , and started their effort to try to save her life, this is the same dog that three hours ago that Dr. Matt Clardy of Northside Animal Hospital said they couldn't really find anything wrong with her.
Dr. Bailey, who was very good came in within minutes giving us a diagnoses, something we had looked for all day. He said she was severely dehydrated, her blood was thick and her blood sugar now at 18, which we thought strange because that's why she stayed at Dr. Clardys, to avoid this... Dr. Clardy had no clue, can't find anything really wrong...Dr. Bailey, said Gracie had all the symptoms, even by going by Dr. Clardys blood work and X ray of Gracie of Pyometra. In Gracie's case because hers was not caught by Dr. Clardy it had turned severe by now. Dr. Bailey and staff started her on antibiotics and fluids. The lack of care and concern she received from Dr. Clardy, who said he couldn't find anything wrong, she died during the early morning hours.

Things didn't add up, we started asking questions to Dr. Clardy and Hall. Before we started asking questions Dr. Hall said not to worry about payment, once we started questioning Gracie's care there, he changed his mind about payment. We have asked, demanded Gracie's chart which they will not release to us, Dr. Hall says because he hasn't been paid...you draw your own conclusion. We have.

I would never, ever take an animal of any kind and have them under Dr. Clardys care or Northside Animal Hospital.
I hope this is of help to someone before something happens, and not when it's to late.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Hall. There may be vets who charge lower fees, but I'll bet they don't do nearly as much for animals, their companions, and the community as he does. The caring and compassion of Dr Hall and his staff is unsurpassed. My only negative commment is the vets are not the best at returning phone calls.

I took my dogs there to be boarded...and one came back with cuts on all of his legs and poo on one of his legs....despite the fact that they washed him. What kind of clinic allows that to happen? We normally go to another vet clinic in Columbus, but they dont offer boarding. We were not impressed with what we saw at Northside Animal Clinic. It was dingy dirty and overpriced. The vet was not very warm and the staff were not impressive.

Dr. Hall has taken care of our pets for many years. He is a compassionate, entertaining vet - I always enjoy going and talking to him about my dogs and cat knowing that he will always be doing what is best for the animals. There are other wonderful vets in Columbus, but Dr. Hall is our favorite.

Dr. Hall is great himself and has been in the area a long time. The service fees are a bit expensive as well as the kennel costs...when u can go down the street and get the same great service and help for you pet less expensive.
