I read all the '07 reviews fro the D'ville Joe's crab shack and I found them kind of misleading.
Firstly no one restraunt has the ability to take anything off the menu. That is controlled by head quarters so the 9.99 crab off the lunch menu is everywhere and honestly not conducive to any kind of profit. Also they have a whole new staff now and I think they are great. They DO have a lower wait time than the other places to eat around the ('specially in the winter :) ), so if you are trying to catch a movie or get your hungry date seated quickly then it's a safe bet. The food is great and well priced.. and I love the atmosphere. It's so much more lively than a stuffy, overpriced Red Lobster. All the wait staff now are helpful, and very friendly. The manager always takes time to stop by your table to make sure everything is going well..... I challenge whomever wrote those reviews to try them again... I bet they "eat" their words....

I remember how excited I was when I heard we were getting a Joe's in Douglasville. I had been to the one in Kennesaw and the one in Nashville and both of them were wonderful. This one in D'ville was great at 1st. The food was good, the place was always packed and they were always singing and dancing getting the customers involved in it. Now the food is just awful. I do not know any other way to put it. They are never crowded, unless people just go there because of the long waits at the restaurants close by. If you are seated over by the bar you might as well forget them coming over to that side to dance, so make sure you get inside of the main dining room. I seriously do not see this place still open in 2007. As empty as they normally are I do not see where they will be able to afford to stay open. Oh one bad thing they did was take the snow crab off of the lunch menu for $9.99. I notice that once they did that is when their lunch business really died. I use to go here atleast once a week when I worked across the street at Arbor place. Not anymore.

Pros: Location.

Cons: Pretty much everything else.

If you have been to Houston or some of the other Joe's you will be disapointed with this one. The service is terrible, the food isn't very good and there are many other place in Douglasville that are much better.

Pros: none, close to mall, close to target

Cons: bad food, bad service, bad just bad

In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively…
