In Short
Up three flights of stairs and above the over-crowded Dark Horse Tavern is a simple brown door leading to the Warren. The modestly-hip enclave glows upon entrance with its fireplaces and amber light, under which the simple bar makes for good mingling. While the late-night, dance-tastic crowds and patio views get all the attention at this private club, the Warren's secret weapon is the food. A creative menu including captain crunch crusted salmon and possibly the best unheard of burger in Atlanta give you more reason to try and sneak in past the security guard.

Hits: This reclusive spot gets you out of the Highlands crowd and into a smaller, still-happening scene.

Misses: You have to be a member, or be with a member to get in most nights.

Key Points

Brunch is fabulous - a great find

by foodedit

A group of my friends and I tried this hidden jewel a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed. The location is hidden above the Dark Horse with it's own sneaky entrance at the side of the building...very cool. The food was fantastic, I had the monte cristo and is was amazing. One of my friends had the breakfast quesadilla which was equally delicious. Their patio is gorgeous as is the interior. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Great atmosphere, food, and service; reasonably priced

Cons: None

The best Brunch EVER!!

by MrsJames

The warren is the best kept secret of the highlands. I was so impressed with the menu I couldn't wait to come back for more! The crabcakes benedict were so fresh and delicious with homemade cream cheese grits and $4 mimosas....I want to tell everyone I know to try it. If you are in Atlanta, you MUST visit the Warren!!

Pros: great music, service, food, etc.

Cons: small dining room, so make a reservation

best burger in town and a great atmosphere

by AlexRobertson

Above the hall of douchery that is The Dark Horse Tavern sits one of the best places in town. With a burger that is above and beyond any you've had before, the best DJs in town, and a great staff that always remembers you (but more importantly, remembers what you drink), the Warren City Club is one the best spots in Atlanta. Best night to come if you've never been before is the first Wednesday of the month when they have live acoustic music. You don't need to be a member or pay a cover to check the place out on these nights, so you have no excuse!

Pros: top-notch food, great staff, unmatched atmosphere

Cons: can't think of any

Went for Brunch

by mmaurice

The brunch was good. The food was good. Service was good. Ambiance was good. Mimosa was good.

Nothing was great though. Nothing to write home about.

One thing they should add to the menu is to get a basket of the pastries on your table for a couple bucks.

Go Sunday Night to Comedy Gold!

by Mayson

I went to the Stand-up show recently with my girlfriend after getting a flyer on my car window. To be honest, I had low expectations. However, I was blown away at how good the comics were. One of the guys had even been on Jay Leno a couple times. Everyone was great and I have been back twice already. Highly recommend going to Comedy Gold if you get a chance. Oh, the food was great too.

Pros: everything

Cons: none

Top Private Club Above The Highlands!

by jaymaygm

Recently we had the pleasure to go to The Warren Club, above our old fave Dark Horse Tavern. It's private, and admittance with a member is required. We climbed those stairs above the Dark Horse, and entered into a refuge away from the masses. This is at the top of the Highlands, and a great outdoor patio, overlooking the street scene. What a great change of pace. Within a few minutes, everyone knows your name, and they make you feel welcome. The owner, Kristy Warren, came up and gave us a wonderful introduction. The drinks were liberal, the buffet was terrific, and we just had a great time. If you want to bypass those long club lines, putting up with out of hand drunks, and want a nice experience, this is it. And joining The Warren, is on our list, we owe it to ourselves.

Pros: Privacy, Great Music, Drinks & Food! Friendly Members!

Cons: Need To Get In Better Shape For Those Stairs! LOL!

Great Service

by annawilcox

The Warren is worth the membership! It is exclusive but not snobby. I had a birthday party there. My guests were allowed to come, even though all were not members. We had wonderful service including complimentary cake and champagne. I recommend checking it out on the first Wednesday of the month for Jazz Night. It is an open house, so anyone is welcome.

Exclusively Yours

by keithknows

What a great spot! Exclusive, private, members only and definitely not easy to find. I attended an event in October 2006, sponsored by Vibe Magazine and Gilyard Manufacturing, the perfect venue for any occasion. The staff was very attentive, taking care of our every need. Artsy Appetizers, comfy plush velvet lounge chairs, a warm fireplace on each side of the room, plasma flatscreen tvs hanged strategically on almost every wall. I hope to return very soon, maybe by than I can afford a membership(LOL)

Pros: Great Location! Ample Parking!

Cons: Member's Only

Worth The Price

by midtownsun

The Warren is a membership-only establishment, but they appear to be having open-house events every week. The service here is impeccable; bartenders, staff, and even the owner are very friendly, helpful, & prompt. I highly recommend a membership at The Warren if you are over 25 and have become fed up with the crowds, lines, and tired atmosphere found in most Highlands/Midtown bars & clubs.

Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Never Too Crowded

Cons: Expensive Drinks
