If you are seriously into health and fitness, this facility is hard to beat. Not for the faint of wallet, it has it all. I enjoy the afternoon basketball for the "good workout but not too competitive" crowd. I have seen professional athletes using the facility.

Too Expensive For a Gym
by M P.
There's no denying its a nice club, but it is way overpriced (more than $100 per month plus hundreds for the intiation fee). All I need is a place to work out with good equipment in a comfortable environment. The Sporting Club tried to justify their unreasonable fees by pointing to the many amenities they have. That's great if you plan on consistently using them. Unfortunately, I'm there to work out - not to play tennis, or volleyball, or take yoga. So for someone that is interested in just working out, you're better going to the other clubs nearby such as Wildwood, Crunch or others.

If you are in the vinings/east cobb border line, this is the gym for you. Great local gym, with plenty of equipment. Easy in and out location, so you don't have to get stuck in traffic or deal with shoppers. The gym is clean and has everything you will need. It's a little outdated, but who cares, you are there to work out! Really quite on the weekends, b/c most of the members go after work.

From the moment that you walk into this beautiful two story building of glass, you know that you are in a serious gym. They have a juice bar and eatery right by the reception area and friendly employees to assist you with your every need. The machines and entire club are completely state-of-the-art as well as the knowledgeable trainers who work there. Beginners and the more experienced will both love this place.
PROS: Beautiful, World Class Facility
CONS: Expensive but worth it

Can you say...WOW!!
by Manny Ripley
This facility provides a rebuttal for every excuse any person could make in regards to procrastinating with their body's overall health wellness! What do you like Swimming? Got it, indoor and outdoor...Tennis? Got it, indoor and outdoor...Raquetball, Got it! Personal Training? Got it! In addition, there is this new sport that I just learned of called Squash, similar to raquetball, an amazing sport! Like attending group classes? Got it! Cycling? Got it! Kickboxing? Got it! Basketball? Got it! I can go on and on and on with this. They even have a nursery for those needing childcare while they work out! Hungry? No problem...they have a full Cafe in this facility! Enjoy the WIFI capabilities, rock wall climbing, sauna, steamroom...this place is wonderful, a grown up's playground! Not to mention the staff of people that they have working there are phenomenal. They provide everything that you need, you only need to bring yourself! Leave the towels, soap, shampoo, EVEN workout clothes...they have a pro shop where you can get these items! You have to see it to believe it! I joined immediately and you will too! See you there!
Pros: This facility is social and fitness DREAM
Cons: None

Simple the best members only health club in Atlanta
by kristian_dancer
This is the most wonderful club in the city to be a member of. All the staff are polite and attentive with a "what ever I can do to make your visit better" attitude.
The club is spotless, the members friendly and social.
Midtown is a very easy place to feel at home at and there is always something new to do it really is so much more than a Tennis club, ( I don't even play !)
Where Gold's,24hr and lifetime are crowded dirty and intimidating Midtown is relaxing refreshing and stimulating. The personal traning staff are extremley well trained with a huge variety of backrounds, there are also a large veriety of classes Pilates Yoga and aerobics.
The Tennis facility is state of art and they regularly have visits from Tennis celebritys Wayne Bryan was there coaching last week.
Pros: Beautiful facility,Personal trainers skill level,Wonderful staff
Cons: None

Excellent tailored programs
by tgb30004
I don't generally take the time to post on these; but this deserves mention.
I began playing tennis here; and in an effort to dramatically improve my tennis game, I started personal training. Now with a personal trainer and a tennis coach working together to improve the weaknesses in my game and tailor my fitness program to work specific areas, my game continues to improve exponentially. They even coordinate with my massage therapist to help focus on specific muscle groups for improved flexibility and injury prevention. I could not offer a higher recommendation than the team at this club!
Pros: great kids club

This fitness club is incredible, really. State of the Art.
by Adam4325
So I didn't know fitness clubs like this existed in Atlanta, but I actually found Midtown Athletic Club online and went for a free week trial and just joined last week. Since I found them online, I felt compelled to spread the word online if other people were new to Atlanta and searching for a new gym like I was.
This place is freakin' awesome. I'm talking indoor/outdoor tennis, indoor/outdoor pool, basketball, squash, every group fitness class you could think of including a private spin class studio......more cardio/weight machines than you can imagine... I could go on and on.
Clearly, I HIGHLY recommend giving Midtown Athletic a try.
Pros: Every amenity you could think of - oh and there's a restaurant inside the club, too.

WOW!
by Anthony3
The club is huge and has sooo much to offer!! I recently joined and this is the nicest gym that I have ever been a member. There is a large weight room with many options for machines and free weights and smaller area on the third floor (yes, the THIRD floor!) for those who get intimidated by the weight room crowd. Lots of cardio options and no waits like the over crowded Y. There is also basketball, raquetball, and lots of group exercise classes. It doesn't feel like the typical gyms that I have ultimately cancelled in the past. Nice staff, very clean and so much to do!
Pros: clean, lots of things to do
Cons: have to walk up three flights to do cardio (I know, I know...)

Best club in town!
by mikem1111
Much more than a gym! This club is worth every extra dollar over the local gyms- you can do it all here-clean-friendly members and staff-open and airy setting with no waits on anything (this club is huge)! Nice to be able to get in and out on my terms, not other members terms. I highly reccommend this "community within a community" to all for exercise-fun-tennis-social events and lunch or dinner in the cafe! It's a win-win! The name Midtown Athletic Club can throw you off a bit (location is Marietta)- but it is centrally located off Interstate 75-
Pros: parking is plentiful-service a plus
Cons: Midtown (name) can make you think its downtown- in Marietta
