Cooper Max Dvm - Island Veterinary Clinic

We have used Island Veterinary Clinic for about 12 years. Our first cocker spaniel lived a wonderful 17 years with their help. They provided excellent routine care and an ACL surgery when necessary all at a reasonable price.

Dr. Lester is a wonderful doctor who really cares. All of the doctors there are first class.If you have a cat, they even have a dedicated cat entrance.I recommend them most highly.

The 3 doctors here have been good to me and my dog. Getting by the front desk is the real trick. The girls working the reception area need to be trained in how to be professional. They will ignore you till you make it easier for them to notice you than to pretend you are not there. This is unacceptable as we are paying good money for their service. They behave as if we are interrupting their chit-chats. If they don't like waiting on us they need to get other jobs.

This is a long story so to make it short as possible, my cat was very, very sick. She was seen by Dr. Mu dd who is very nice but really didn't do enough to help her in the first place. We were told to call by end of week if she was not better which we did immediately that morning. NO ONE got back to us. Short staffed and apparently scheduled routine visits are much more important than an emergency. We were excited to have Dr. Lester come to our home that evening as he offers these services. He sounded very caring until he got here. Basically stepped in and out and we were chasing him asking more questions. Told us the cat had a tumor and needed surgery. The cat also had not had a bowel movement in 5 days! Needless to say, the cat would have died if we waited until Monday. It was not a tumor after all but by the time emergency services cared for her Saturday her temp was 105 and abcess was bigger and bigger. She was shaved (as should have been done first visit) and lanced and put on Strong antibiotics. Also expelled days worth of fecal material. I am glad my cat is still alive no thanks to Islands. I am happy for those who have good experiences with this team, unfortunately I did not.

islands vet is a good clinic and i would recommend it to anyone. the doctors are very caring and treat you and your animal with courtesy and respect..

The doctors and their assistants are very professional, kind, and helpful. The only thing that will keep me from returning to this clinic is the front office staff. One woman in particular is extremely rude (surly), unhelpful, and unprofessional. I would suggest putting her in a position where she does not interact with people, but that would not be fair to the animals.

When I took my dog to Dr Lester for the first time, he had a serious medical problem. Dr Lester spent about an hour with us & was so nice and helpful. He suggested that I call every day to let him know how my dog was doing.

On the contrary, I was not impressed with the front-office staff. They were loud & were talking about other customers, which was bothersome. However, I was so happy with Dr Lester that I will not hesitate to return.

We had 3 dogs and one cat. Dr Mahaney was very caring when our older dog began having serious medical problems. He was so gentle with Graybar when the time came to do what we needed to do. They continue to care for our other dogs and cat. The office staff are great, too. Dr Lester and Dr. Mahaney have always been good with our animals.We wouldn't go anywhere else!!!!

We have used island vet for both of our cats and our dog since she was a pup. They are very friendly, courteous and less expensive than other local vets. Dr Lester does a great job with them and we have always been very satisfied.

I recently moved from out of state and I thought that I would never be able to find a vet that was as good as my old Cat Clinic, but I was wrong. I went here less than a month ago and was I was impressed not only with the quick and friendly service, but the price was fantastic. I left Islands Veterinary clinic with 2 treatments for ear mites, a shot for my cat, a flea treatment and one cat's checkup and paid a little over $100. At my last place that amount of treatment would have been twice that amount EASY. I would highly recommend Islands Vet to anyone.

Island Veterinary Clinic was not really my first choice for my chihuahua but when i got there i was so happy that i choose them. Dr. Lester was great, staff was wonderful and the office was so nice and neat and even smelled good with all the animals that come in and out of there. If you ever need a pet dr. Dr. Lester is the one for you.

I just recently had to have a medical problem with my springer spaniel addressed. Dr. Lester and Dr. Cooper went out of their to help us with various needs and issues we had. They both have a wonderful Pet Bed Side Manner and great Customer Service! Their staff, is very pleasant with you on the phone and in person too! I'm happy to report everything went just wonderful with my springers surgery and they were very imforatative and spoke to me in terms I could understand. If you have a pet you couldn't go wrong taking them to this great duo of aminal lover doctors!

PROS: Excellent Pet Care and Excellent Human Interaction
CONS: NONE!
