I found the vehicle, Lincoln Navigator, that I purchased from Malcolm Cunningham Ford Lincoln Mercury via the internet. Living in NC I had to depend on email and telephone conversations for details pertaining to the vehicle and the eventual purchase. Information from the Salesman was difficult to obtain and somewhat incorrect. Other people at the dealership could not answer my questions that I had pertaining to the purchase. Prior to traveling to Atlanta for the purchase the salesman asked me to find out how much tax to pay in NC. That should have been a red flag for me.

When I drove to Atlanta to purchase the vehicle components were missing (key remote, DVD remote, owners manual with keypad lock information as well as the code for the keypad). I had to pay extra for a replacement key remote that was missing. Prior to the visit I asked the salesman to describe the finish and after arriving in Atlanta I found major scratches that the salesman did not mention. Then while test driving the vehicle we discovered there were major brake issues. We had to wait for the brakes to be repaired before we could drive the vehicle home.

The actual sales process took longer than it did to repair the brakes and that was about an hour and a half. The the finance agreement included tax, title, and registration in NC. Twice the dealership sent incomplete information to the DOT. Now I must go to the local DMV, pay the registration fee (which should have been paid) and obtain the registration. Not what I was told by the dealership finance department.

The attention to detail by Malcolm Cunningham Ford was lacking at best. It seemed to be a family run business lacking professionalism and business knowledge normally found in an automobile dealership. We did got a good sales price for the vehicle but I don't think that will be enough to get me to go back to Malcolm Cunningham Ford. (Purchase date October, 2010)
