We love this clinic. We found Dr. Kyle while he was still in Savannah back in 1996. My husband purchased a very ill Boxer that was close to death. Dr. Kyle was amazing and the Boxer grew up to be a healthy dog.We added to our family and every time we went to our favorite vet. When Dr. Kyle opened his practice in RH we followed him. He always cared for the animals as they were his. To this day we use this clinic and have NOT ONE complaint. Our pets have had surgery, boarded, routine check-ups, and sick appointments. These people have loved our family all these years!!! Thank you Dr. Kyle!!!

I used Kyle from the time my dane puppy was born till she was 7 then I had gotten 2 more danes to breed them when my female dane needed to have surgery to get the last puppy Heather waited for over 24 hours to do the surgery and I lost the last puppy. One of the puppies I did deliver on my own I took in to have Kyle spay her he wasn't able to and said Heather would well she chewed her stitches out and had a real bad infection that was pussy and green and had a real bad smell to it I call the office they said bring her in one of the girls took her to the back and I heard everything Heather said ( they were going to treat it as an open wound and she brought her back out to me I was waiting for her to tell me that they were going to put her on some type of antibiatic but that wasn't the cas I asked the girl what about the infection she went back to heather and she told the girl oh tha is Mrs P we will give her antibiatic to pasify her. Well that was the last time I went back I would not take my animals to Heather ever I would travel 100 miles to a good vet. Since then I have found an Exellent vet and will not change. I feel Heather is there to pad her pockets and really don't care for your loved family pet. Since I have left I have several friends that was using them and had major problems and asked who I was using now and I gave them Her name and they are now with the new vet also and love her she really and truely cares for the animals that she sees and takes care of. She came to my house to take care of one of my horses and had to put my oldest dane down for me and was very simpathedic and send a card with all the staff's signatures. And always call and check on how my pets are doing after a visit if they came in, or even if she makes a barn call and has to take care of my horses they will always do a follow up call and sometimes several calls to make sure there is no problems if they thing there is a problem they will have me bring them back in or she will be back out here within an hour.

I have been using Cedar for all my pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) since I moved to GA from TN nearly 4 years ago. I was told that they were the best in town. I travel a lot for work and board my 2 Pomeranians there regularly. The last time (a few weeks ago) I picked them up after boarding, I noticed that they had been bathed but not brushed out which is part of the boarding cost when your pet stays 2 nights or more. Their fur and tails were matted, but I did not say anything. I have never had this problem before and just assumed they were not done with them when I arrived to pick them up. I took the dogs home and had difficulty getting the mats out especially from their tails. Well, I had to travel again this week and left them with Cedar for 3 nights. When I arrived today to pick them up, they were so matted it was ridiculous. I spoke to the girls in the front about their condition and asked why they were not brushed out. They informed me that they never brush them out. In 4 years this is only the second time and all within the same month that my pets have not come back to me bathed and brushed out! I told them I did not bring them to be boarded in this shape and would not leave until the mats had been brushed out. One of the kennel girls told me after I asked to speak to the Vets that she spoke to them and that they would brush them this time but in the future I would have to pay the groomer ($36.00 charge per pet) to brush the mats they put in my dogs hair during the bath they provided and that the girl that used to do the baths is no longer there and she must have been brushing them when she was not supposed to if they had been brushed as I stated. (implying that she was breaking the rules by properly caring for long haired dogs is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard) I already give this vet an arm and a leg each year to kennel here. The only reason I continued was the care they showed my dogs in bathing and brushing them out properly. Since Cedar seems to only care about padding their bills by forcing use of their groomer, I am going to look for another Vet and kennel.

I am regretfully writing this review because our cat has passed due to complications from his "routine" dental cleaning and extractions performed at Cedar Animal Hospital.
When we brought our cat in for his dental cleaning we were told that he "did great" and had to have a few teeth pulled. We were given no post-operative instructions and left to figure out his aftercare on our own. Two weeks later after little to no healing, fresh blood still coming from the extraction sites, facial disfiguration, and general lethargy, we were given a new antibiotic to try. Apparently, this was the norm for a routine dental. After another week of no improvement, he had to be hospitalized, given IV antibiotics, and anesthetized for a 2nd time to "see what was going on and why he wasn't healing the way he should". After hearing nothing from them on the day we were suppose to pick him up, we finally called at 11:45 and were told he was fine to go home...if we could get there in 15 minutes. It was Saturday and everyone had better things to do. Thankfully, we live nearby. We were told that during this procedure, a "routine" piece of bone was removed from the extraction site. He was brought to us covered in dried feces all down his left side and dried blood around his mouth and chest. Through the weekend we were still having no improvement, so I started to do some research on my own and found the following:
"Failure to treat fractured teeth with pulpal exposure may result inperiapical abscessation, mucosal or cutaneous fistulation, chronic rhinitis, osteomyelitis, and ocular discharge."
In other words, tooth roots were broken (and possible facial bones) during the extractions and left to become infected and cause an abscess in his brain.
At this point we decided to get a second opinion and found a fantastic veteranarian but it was too late. On Friday night, he was stricken with sudden-onset blindness. On Saturday, he started showing additional neurological symptoms and had to be euthanized. To this day, we have heard nothing from Cedar Animal Hospital, neither checking on his progress nor sending condolences.
I know that nothing can be done for him now. I am writing this in hopes that someone doesn't make the same mistake we did. Our cat suffered because of these "so-called" veterinarians. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!

I have used Dr. Heather for the past six years for multiple breed dogs. I love Dr Heather and the staff at Cedar animal hospital. I originally had an American bulldog the dog had many health problems including being deaf. Dr Heather was the only vet to be able to diagnosis this conditition. Other vets in the Savannah area just acted clueless telling our family the dog needed more training. She later had an accident and had to be out down. The vet was extremely sympathetic and gave me a discount on the cost. We later had a cocked spaniel that had seizures. Dr Heather was again understanding and provided the necessary medication for the dog. When I moved into my own home and had a dog it was a lab. We were living on statesboro and decided to try a vet closer to home. It was a mistake the dog progressively got sicker on the vets care. I did my own research and told the vet what I thought thw provlem was . He wouldnt listen to my opinion. So I finally took the dog to Dr Heather , she told me I was correct and the dog got better under her care. I will never use another vet for my animals.

I have been going to Cedar Animal Hospital since I moved to Richmond Hill in 2005 and would not go anywhere else. Dr. Heather is awesome with my 2 cats and dog. My dog is now 14 years old and is visiting Heather probably once a month and Heather has kept in comfortable in his senior years. Kyle is awesome as well and has seen our animals and given them great care.

I am hesitant about all vets after having lost a dauchund puppy being spayed by an incompentent vet in AL. Being military we had moved into the area. I checked out both clinics in town before taking my dogs to Dr Heather. My doxie had to have a lumpectomy & is highly allergic to different types of meds. Dr Heather assured me everything would be fine & it was. She called me right after surgery & even on the way home when my dog started to have an allergic reaction I called the office and even though they had just closed they said come back in.
There is a new vet on staff Dr Jennifer. I like her also. She called me on the weekend regarding my dog and was in no rush to go over all the medications with me and what side effects I could expect.
I really like the vet staff...the office staff sometimes does lead much to be desired. It seems like they have hired high school or college kids and some of them are more concerned with shooting the bull then checking you in or out.
For military they also offer a military discount.

My husband and I left our 1yr old great dane here for almost two weeks, since we we're going on vacation. We picked him up and we were in shock to see him in the condition he was in. He lost so much weight that his ribs, spine, and his hip bones are sticking out. He has bald spots here and there and a lot dandruff. He looked so weak that he usually jumps up on us and this time he didn't. We got home and fed him and he ate like he had never eaten before. If I knew he would end up this way I would've never left him here. Plus they do not have the best service here.

I moved to this area and was told Dr. Kyle was the best vet for c section on French Bulldogs by other breeders. I set up an appointment and the Champion female was bred to one of the best Champion males in the Nation. The puppies were due and Dr. Kyle told me that he might not be there for the delivery, but Dr. Heather his associate would be. I have been a breeder of French Bulldog for around 10 years at that time and at witnessed many c sections of my females, never once has a lost a puppy. I used the same temperature test to pin point the optimum time to c section the female, never once were the puppies deliever too soon. The female was ready by the temp. reading and I called the Cedar Animal Clinic. Dr. Gill Heather told me Dr. Kyle was not back yet, and she wanted to wait until the female had gone into full labor before performing the c section. I told her that was too late, according to all the Veterinarian experts in this breed to take French Bulldog puppies if born naturally the puppy would most likely had brain damage and die, it need to be done just before strong labor started. She made me sign a releave before she would perform the c section ( That was never told to be before that moment) I had no choice but to sign and go forward. I told her I wanted to be there through out the procedure. She called me in and the champion female had already been given drugs( for how long God knows) Fist bad sign, second, the women was totally clewless, she too way to long the puppies were knocked out so hard she could not revive them and I ended up lossing the total litter. The Champion female was sooo knocked out I was afraid of loosing her as well, and almost did. She ended up having a very serious infection from being open so long and I almost lost her as well.
To give you an idea of what I lost we rebred the female, had four puppies again two Championed two pets the pet sold for $2500 each the show quality puppies $5000.00 do that math...$15000.00 that quak cost me. I would never take a dog to her again. I've had 6 litter since and have lot not one puppy and produced many champion off spring all c sectioned from another Veterinarian Dr. Howard.

They were the last hope for our dog to live. We had been seeing another vet in the area for about 5 months costing us over $3500 when they finally concluded we needed to put her to sleep. Our dog went from 24 lbs to 12 lbs. My friend referred me to Dr. Heather where the Dr told me the facts. My 13 yr old dog had cancer and gave me options. Neither one euthanasia. We do expect our dog to pass away but it has been over 1.5 yrs later and she is living a wonderful life.

I took my dog here to get her fixed. Things came up and they ended up keeping her over night free of charge. They stayed on top of her pain pills and gave her all the loving attention she needed. The day after I brought her home, she chewed out her stitches. I called Dr. Kyle and he immediately called me back (On a Sunday) to make sure she did not go to deep and weather or not he would need to come in. I love Cedar Animal Hospital and this is where I will be taking my second baby to be fixed.

Two years ago, I made my first trip to Cedar for one of my personal pets. I had left our regular vet after my dog got injured in playtime. Our vet determined he needed knee surgery. As a single woman on low income, I didn't have the funds that I was going to be charged at the surgical clinic. Another rescuer suggested to call Dr. Kyle and get a second opinion. So I did. Dr. Kyle had us come in, and determined surgery was not needed, that he just needed time to heal and some anti-inflammatory. I was so relieved. My dog runs just fine and never slows down. I hate to think of the unnecessary confinement he may have had to endure without Dr. Kyle's examination.

I was told that the Dr. Here is like a pet version of Dr. House! Well, except for the fact that they are very nice. My kitty was taken here to be spay and they were very friendly with her and kept her entertained while she was there.
