I am your average teenage girl who enjoys being at school hanging with my friends. I had come from a private school and that was a school that held you accountable for what you have done; I walked into J.J with a fresh start where no one new me and I was automatically became "cool" but for the wrong thing. I hung out with people that smoked, drank, and did other drugs and it was really bad, my mom was quite shocked with what I came and told her. My sixth and seventh came and went real fast. I entered my 8th grade year and failed (the CRCT). It was mainly the people that I hung out with. By the middle of the year you could buy drugs in the eighth grade bathroom!!! It was also the princible at that time...ugh she was horrible!! But now that she is gone the school I hear is much better!!!

I guess overall the school is 'ok', but they're sooo caught up in paperwork and standardized testing, that the overlook the students. Middle school is for kids aged 11-14...a difficult time in a child's life. So many things going on in 'their world' and this school doesn't try to help them during that time. School ISN'T just about academics, it's about the whole child. I'm not asking them to raise my chid fro me, Ijust want them to recognize there are so many outside thinga going on in ther world, that sometimes they need an objective ear. In 6th grade, my daughter was having trouble 'finding her place'. I contacted a school counselor about any clubs or extra-curricular activities they might offer, to give her a gentle nudge. The couselor flat out told me that's not her department and she can't help me. Wow. What's your job then?
If I had a choice as to where my daughter goes, it would NOT be JJ Daniell.
PROS: it's ok
CONS: too many to list
