I have been looking for a salon in the Atlanta area for quite some time, and have finally found the perfect one with Elon! My stylist listened to ever detail that I asked for, and really sat with me to make sure things got done to my liking. I have recommended Elon to many friends now and they all have received the same excellent service. I could't be happier!

Do not ever go to Elon Salon in Marietta!!!

I had the most terrible experience with the stylist and manager concerning my visit 4/9/12. The stylist, Acacia, was 30-45 minutes late and never apologized. I told her about how I wanted my hair cut which she totally ignored, the color and highlights are not acceptable. It looks like she took a bowl around part of the top of my hair - this will take months to grow out. I cannot see any highlights - what I see is orange. I told her to leave the towel on my head after washing it as I have a cold. She did UNTIL she decided to sweep the hair off the floor - wet head - at the doctor Tuesday for antibiotics. I had a coupon for most of the services, but still OWED almost $100 - a rip off!

When I talked to the manager he refused a refund - he would redo it - why would I want to?! Rude man who told me not to tell him how to run his business and he would not be threatened when I said I would have the charge on my credit card reversed, he said try -- I guess he has done this many times before. I said I would post to my friends. He said no one ever pays attention to that "s**t".

I used to go to Elon regularly about 12-15 years ago, then my fave stylist left, so I did too. Recently, I receive a complimentary cut & color coupon. I had to wait about 2-3 wks for my appt, which was a bit of a let down. When I went into the salon, I was greeted and only had to wait about 5 minutes. My stylist was professional and listened to what I had to say. I got a nice cut and color. Overall the experience was OK. The salon seems like it is trying to be upscale and comes off a bit 'cold'.

I have been going to Elons for many years, I love this salon, it may be the best I have ever been to, anywhere!! It is clean, beautifully appointed, efficiently managed, and always friendly. Lovely people every where! Try Nina, she is my stylist... Best of all the prices are fair and the results are outstanding. I often get compliment and eagerly recommend Elons and Nina to friends. Some people can never be pleased, from some of these reviews. I encourage you to give it a try for yourself!!

I visited Elon after receiving one of the mailers for a "complimentary" cut and color. From, the start the stylist was unprofessional, uninterested and unfriendly. The impression I got was that there were a lot of resentful stylists upset about having to deal with customers with these mailers. After initially reviewing their website, I was excited about an interesting cut and color. Turns out, I walked out with a trim and some boring blond highlights. To top it off, it wasn't even all "complimentary". Clients beware!!

Long story short, I made an appointment for color with a Master Colorist, Flonnie (also the owner) I didn't find out she was the owner until checking out at the register. I wanted the balayse technique for color I'd heard so much about. She insisted on doing foils. Then asked if I wanted a cut. I said ""NO"". she insisted on trimming a few pieces anyway which took her all of 20 seconds. She said they were uneven. Not too happy with my color but not complaining I went to the register to pay. There I got a shock as I was told my bill was over $200. I asked why, and was told 49.99 for a hair cut I never got, nor wanted. 30.00 for a protein conditioner they put on my head (they don't tell you its 30.00) and $99.00 for the foil technique I didn't want and another 30.00 for color gloss. When I asked for a manager Flonnie stepped up and said she was the manager/owner. I proceeded to tell her I wanted the haircut charge and conditioner charge removed from my bill as I never got a cut and wouldn't have had the conditioner had I known the price. She refused. Never have I dealt with such an unprofessional business woman. I was completely ripped off. I will never return to that salon. Beware, sneaky and unscrupulous owner and staff. Unbelievable.

Went there for my appointment and found out my stylist, who I loved, had left. They offered another stylist who was a Master at highlights. She totally ruined the look I had loved. When I asked to speak to management, they were "not" available. I called the next day to complain. They said management would call me back. After speaking to Flonie, I was told either she or Don would do my hair as they would like to keep me as a customer.

Don said he would fix my hair and I would be more than satisfied. He had a newbie wash & condition my hair. Someone else mixed the color, someone else put the foils in my hair. Don stopped by to look at my foils, while I was under the dryer and said "you are going to love your color". He snipped some of my hair, then handed me off to someone else who finished styling me. I never saw Don again. I did complain when they tried to charge me. The manager came up and said they would take care of the bill after I started telling new customers not to go there as they add on to the bill.

I will NEVER go back there. And I will NEVER recommend them. My hair does not look as good as when Shelby did it. Thanks to the girl washing my hair, I found out where she went.

I am looking for a good salon to get my Hair cut, Styled and hoping to get some good advice on my hair and what I could do to improve my appearance. You would think either they would have turned me away because I was a walk-in or gave me someone that was a Senior Stylist. I mean if I am a NEW customer you want to make the best impression on the NEW Customer. I expected that it would be somewhat moderate to expensive. But, every time I look in the mirror I ask myself, what did I pay for? My hair looks worse and the stylist did nothing but blah, blah, this and that. He would wait until he had the electric shears near my ears where I couldn't not hear word he was saying to me. I believe his name was Jay. And although he gave me some good advice on skin my hair looks worse then it did when I walked in. I asked for a uptodate style as much as possible for guy my age. I told him I was not looking for a conseravtive look Yet I walked out very disappointment. In my younger days I went to expensive salons and go fantastic service. I moved to the south and have not been able to find a good place to get my hair cut and styled. Makes no since do Southerns not car about style? Oh well I am going to Michigan and will go to a salon up there. Maybe they can fix this mess I now have to call my hair. I will never repeat my business here again NOT worth it!

My daughter went to this salon(elon salon), asking for blonde highlights, and 140.00 dollars later she ended up with her beautiful long hair the color orange. We all know that we go to a professional salon and pay professional prices because we trust that they have been educated and have a license. We like to believe that if they make a horrible mistake that they behave in a professional manner and at least reimburse you for the money you spent. I had to send my daughter to another salon and spend another 140.00. This other salon said they would have to treat her hair 2 times to correct the color problem. This means 140.00 x3 before we are finished! Elon salon said we had to come back to them for a free correction within 2 weeks. When I called the very day after, the salon was closed for renovations and could only get a recording. I guess they wanted my daughter to walk around with orange hair in the meantime!! They are not willing to do anything for us!! Please tell me what business sense this makes???s

I tried not to put a star on this site but it won't accept this without at least 1 so this is the minimum. I have been a stupid customer for over 10 years. I truly believed this establishment was an elite salon in the Atlanta area. The first time I went to Elon I asked for light highlights. The stylist brushed on about 10 spots of bleach around my head. I looked like a leopard. I was too shy to say anything, but when I got home and looked at it, the more angry I became. I called, and the supervisor told me to come back for a correction. I traveled 50 miles to get fixed. The new stylist took the supervisor's instruction and repaired the damage. During the process I do not believe she said 3 words to me. The repair was minimally acceptable, and I felt grateful for the effort, albeit unfriendly. I went again for a touch up and was assigned to Debbie because I asked for someone else. Debbie was personable enough, and gave a great cut and color for several years. I felt I finally found someone who would give me what I asked for. One time I went in and asked her to give me a hint of honey in the platinum blonde highlights for a bit of dimension, I came out looking like Lucille Ball. I was in tears. When I told her how red it was, she just looked at me and said that was what you asked for. I told her no it wasn't, I wanted a bit of honey added. She reluctantly redid me. I was bleached to near death, and was there over another 2 hours to correct the obvious mistake. The next time I asked for a senior hairdresser. I was given to Dee Dee. Although she was churning customers out like an assembly line, she did do what I asked. After 7-8 touch ups, I went in today for the same thing I had always had, I came out with medium grey hair! I am a blonde with a few low lights, always have been. I showed her the distinct dark line at the roots, plus the grey in the rest of the hair, and she had the gaul to say I did the same thing I have been doing. She never did anything, her inexperienced assistants did the work. I could see her eyes widen as I showed her the problem, but she made me feel like it was my imagination, like I didn't know what I was seeing! She asked me if I wanted highlights added, and I, of course, said yes, please fix it. I was blonde when I came in, I want to leave that way. She took me to a chair and highlighted my hair. She has never did it herself before, as her trainees always did the work. When it was over, her assistant asked her if she should blow dry my hair. She told her that I could dry my own hair. I did, got dressed, went to the cashier, and my bill was there. She never even came to the counter to address me as she always has done in the past. She didn't say a word to me all the time she was re-doing my hair, not even admitting there was a problem, to say the least she was ""sorry"" or that I had to spend the extra time getting fixed. I knew she was mad by the way she spoke her few words to me. On top of it all, my hair is still messed up. I will never go back to this place, and will do everything I can to keep anyone I know from going there. I want my $114 back for a bad touch up and drying myself. I lost my Saturday, only day off, and awful and damaged hair.

This was by far the worst hair cut I ever received. When I got home I tried to style it so, I could leave the house without embarrassment...but had no luck!!! It was so chopped up. I am going to another local stylist to see if they can repair it. Wow $ 94.00 for a cut and conditioner....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! OH yeah, the stylist name was Ray. Really nice man but has no clue how to cut hair.

I wish I would have read the reviews BEFORE redeeming my certificate for cut and color. I have just gotten home from a miserable afternoon at Salon Elon. First and foremost, if I am going to pay over $200 at a salon, I would expect better treatment from the staff. Secondly, I expect to walk out of a salon feeling 100% satisfied with the way I look. This obviously is not the case. The staff are only there to ""make a sale"" and they most certainly do not care about their customers. I have hair ""stain"" all over my face and neck. The stylist said very little to me the whole time I was there (3 hours). She was in a huge hurry, and was not gentle at all. I feel like I lost half of my hair from the way she yanked my hair through the whole process. When I asked my stylist if she could put a few more layers in the top, she blew me off, stating she already put enough in. She was sloppy, uncaring, treated me as if I was just another number. She did not listen to what I wanted, she did what SHE wanted and then charged me $207. Not once did she say that the Keratin treament would be so expensive. I dont mind spending the money, as I know this treatment was necessary, but the service SUCKED, and I will certainly not return to Salon Elon again. My hair looks horrible, greasy, nasty. Too good to be true....remember....nothing is truly free these days...it all comes with a price, whether they take it out of your pocket, or through poor service and/or lack of quality. In this case, it was all three.

I should've known better when I got a letter in the mail from Elon offering me a complementary cut and color that it was too good to be true. \nI can't speak for any other staff members but I had a woman named Debbie who was down right awful. I don't know if she was having a bad day or just always treated her clients the way she did with me.\nShe had an attitude toward me and her assistant, she was gossiping right in front of me, and slinging hair color left and right like a child being forced to do something they didn't want to do. \nRight of the bat she was cutting me off when i was telling her what I wanted, she ended talking me into getting foils because i wanted to go back to blonde so she said it would look better that way and blend and what not. I thought I could trust her 16+ years of experience but I guess i was wrong. \nMy hair now LOOKS LIKE A ZEBRA. I almost broke down in tears right then and there. I didn't say anything to her because, quite frankly I was afraid of her cutting off my ear while she was chopping away at my hair. \nThe whole ordeal took 2 hours but right when I got home I called the salon and complained to the manager about Debbie and my god awful zebra hair. She said they have a 2 week redo policy (hmm, wonder why?) so I'm hopefully getting it fixed with another person soon.\nFunny enough, my giant chunky highlights are the color i wanted, so I don't know why in the world she just didn't do that to my whole head. I guess she was too busy being rude to notice.\nPoint is, I would NEVER suggest this salon to someone much less go back after this entire fiasco. Regretfully, I am now having to wear a hat for the next few days to cover up the mess.

LOVE my hair. The cut is amazing and my color is gorgeous. The best part of all was that she showed my how to style it at home. My hair feels great (not dried out from color) and is so easy to work with.

This is a perfect example of professional, talented, and friendly stylists who make you feel welcome as well as look great! I found the staff to be respectful and fun with each other as well as their clients. You can always tell when people love what they do, It was very apparent.

I have gotten my hair done at Elon Salon a few times before. This last visit ended up being a huge nightmare for me. I asked the stylist to remove the brown highlights and that I wanted my hair all one color. I showed some pictures and she asked ""Not as light as in the picture, the same color you have now"" and I said yes just no brown. I also specifically said I don't care if it took a year to change the color as long as my hair doesn't get fried. I found it odd that she put the bleach on my ends which were already bleached and very light blond. I figured it was due to the brown and having to lighten that as well, but the ends that she re-bleached are completely fried now! Also, it is much much much lighter than I wanted. Even lighter than the pictures I showed her and some parts are platinum.\n\nI have dark ash blonde naturally and it really shouldn't take a level higher than a 25 volume to bleach my hair. I asked what level and she just said its ""bleach"". I know there are different levels and wondered why should wouldn't tell me. I was left under a dryer for about 30-40 minutes(probably with 40 volume). I think because my stylist was handling 2-3 other people I was just forgotten about. \n\nHer apprentice seemed extremely concerned about my hair which made me really nervous. She told me my hair would seem really dry and that I shouldn't wash it for a few days. She then said after a few washes it ""should"" start to feel normal again. This is the first time in my life anyone has ever said anything like that to me about my hair.\n\nI did as she said and waited to wash my hair until Tuesday night. At that point I had not done anything else to it other than brush it out of fear of her concern. After I washed on Tuesday evening with my regular shampoo and conditioner brand by Aveda; my hair started breaking and falling out. Yes, hair does normally fall out, but some pieces were so fragile they were just breaking apart. I am 30 years old and in all my years NOTHING like this has ever happened to me. I take very good care of my hair. At that point I just put my hair in a ponytail and didn't touch it for the rest of the evening fearing more would just break apart and fall out. Wednesday morning I went out and bought Nexxus Emergencee and applied to my hair in the AM. Thankfully that has repaired a significant amount of the damage after a follow up deep conditioning. \n\nI have always been a bit concerned with the lack of personal attention I have received at Elon Salon, but overall nothing terrible happened. I came back to Elon to get my hair back to once color since they are the ""Color Experts"", but it ended up being the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I think that they should change their business practices so more time can be spent with each client and less time multitasking. My hair was left under a dryer and fried due to lack of attention. My hair is now lighter than I wanted and fried due to over processing of the ends. If it wasn't for Nexxus Emergencee I would have had to cut it all off.

I went here after years of hearing about this place and now I wish I hadn't waited! I had the best experience from the first phone call all the way to the finished style :) Everyone was very helpful and genuinely wanted to be there which in turn made me not want to leave. Thanks to the entire elon staff!

I transferred over from another Salon about 7 years ago and couldn?t be happier. I love Janice and everyone at Elon Salon. It?s fast and I?m spending half the amount of money! I love the products at Elon too. Thank You.\r\n

I had the worst experience in my entire life. Kelly Gordon, who claims to be a waxing specialist scarred my face for life. I came in with eyebrows and left with NOTHING!!!. I look in the mirror everyday and cry. My doctor says they will never grow back. I will never go to this so called salon ever again. There was no sympathy for my tramatic experience. I warn you all to think twice before you go to this place. BTW.....I only put 1 star because I had to.

My sister and I both had bad experience here. Very poor customer service. I had a coupon for free hair colour. She told me i needed color (which i had never done in my life) then foils. I had just planned foils. She put the color in and it hurt severely. She never checked on me ..i had to search the salon for her to take it off my head after a few minutes. She seemed irritated and she ended up charging me for it. My sister had same experiece, diff girl. She put on color and was all over her forehead and ears, very sloppy. my sister had to go in the bathroom and clean it off herself.

Elon offers a great variety of things!! They offer coloring, cuts, pedicures, manicures, and many types of products for your everyday lifestyle. While they can be expensive, their great customer service makes up for that!! They can even get you into the salon on last minute notice, although appointments are great to have.\n

For the perfect hair coloring, highlighting, cut and style that always suits you and the current trends try Elon salon. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
* Pros: excellent coloring, style consultations, customer service
* Cons: pricey, too busy at times, flexible appointments

My experiences with Elon Salon have all been positive and satisfying. My last hair cut and styling was done by Ray Brookshire who did a fabulous job with recommending a hairstyle, cutting my hair to perfection and getting me out and on to business very quickly. Elon pampers its clients and provides a comfortable and professional environment that makes you want to return again and again.\n\nPROS: Excellent stylists and welcoming atmosphere\nCONS: free cappucino is really hot - is that a con?\n

I've had my hair cut and colored by DeDe many times, and she does an amazing job. I've had my hair colored at many salons, and the best highlights I have ever received were from Elon. The only negative is that things at the salon are usually quite buzy and even hectic, and each stylist relies on an assistant to do a lot of the work, especially with foils.

I have only had my hair colored twice ever and both times were at Elons. I love them. My most recent trip I went strawberry blonde and anyone who pays attention knows that reds are horrible to make look good. My strawberry blonde was amazing! The color was perfect and my cut was amazing! The colorist/stylist did exactly what I wanted! I love Elons and I dont trust anyone else to do my color. \r\n

I have been looking for a salon in the atlanta area that can give me a good cut and color for years now and i have finally found the perfect salon! My stylist listened to every detail i asked for and really spent quality time to make sure i was satisfied, and on top of that the prices are reasonable and the products are amazing. I have recommended Elon to multiple friends and they too have received the same exact service! I couldnt be happier!

I concur with other reviews with low ratings. The owners are very rude. The consultation is not a consultation as you tell them what you think you might want and they have no comments about whether the cut and color will work or not. My layers are frizzy and my roots are still dark even though I came in specifically to get my roots done. I had one other visit which was successful but like others have said there is a complete lack on continuity. I guess Salon Vanessa will be getting another new customer due to their unprofessionalism.

The stylists are good at color but Natalia cut my hair and cut off about 3 inches when I said only 1. I love my hair being long so when I got in the car, I cried. I don't understand how just a trim got so misinterpreted. I will NEVER go back for a cut.

I should have known to cancel my appt after I made the call to book my reservation because the lady on the phone was very rude. At my appointment, my assigned stylist called in and I was not notified of that. Some of the spaces were very tight to move through and there was no place to put my handbag. When I finally spotted my bag at my stylist's station, it was on the floor, getting hair all over it and in a walkway. I was not told who I'd be seeing next or how long I'd have to wait until the next step. \n\nThe worst part was that my hair has been dyed a color that's not my natural color, as I'd asked. The ""consultation"" lasted maybe 2 mins at best, and no one stopped to truly look at the color of my hair. They just dumped black hair dye on my head and I now look like I'm wearing a very fake wig.\n\nMy cut is not what I wanted, either. I suppose the good thing is, hair will grow back. It will just take 3 months.\n\nNeedless to say, I will not be returning to Elon.

I have to admit that I was truely impressed with my first visit here, I have not had the pleasure of being there in the past, but recently received a coupon, and decided to take advantage of it. They offer a variety of services at reasonable prices, and I have to say I like the way they have priced their foil highlights, b/c you pay a flat $15 fee and then additional $2 for each foil, which is pretty reasonable $35 for 9 foils, considering other places only give you 6 for this price.\n

I booked a service 6 weeks out for cut, foils, and base color. I was running late and called. They told me to come in and that they could accomodate me. When I arrived, they kept me waiting 25 minutes only to tell me that they could not take me. I lost two hours of work as a consultant and had canceled with Van Michaels to try this salon. When I called to follow up with the manager, he never returned my call. I called to speak with another manager who insulted me, told me I was rude to the staff (although she was not there) and told me they only booked me for an hour even though I told them it was a 2-3 hours appt. Bottom line- inept employees who cannot book and who lied to me and wasted my time, and the management's response- insult me. This is everything you hate about a salon, pretenious people who refuse to admit when they make a mistake, I have never been treated so poorly. I would not recommend them to anyone even if they paid me to go. Worst salon ever!!!!!!!!!

I have been a customer at Elon for over five years. I have extremely thin, baby fine hair and Don never fails to make it looks great. The cut is always fabulous, the highlights look natural and my hair is in great condition. People are always asking me where I have my hair done. In addition, the staff is always friendly and they always make me feel that I am a special customer. The assistants perform a great deal of the work but the salon has a wonderful on the job training program. I know because I asked and Don explained in detail how the program works. I have never had a bad experience with an assistant. I am using the ""Elon"" shampoo and conditioner for fine hair and it helps my hair look thicker and to stay in great condition. The salon is pricey but I think it is worth every penny to know that my hair will look great. If you are willing to spend the money....you will get the best.

I absolutely loved my visit to Elon Salon. The staff was very friendly and informative. The moment you walk into the door, you are greeted by one of the many polite ""Salon Coordinators."" Since it was my first visit, the hostess then showed me around the salon and offered free snacks (peanuts, pretzels, cashews, candy), and an assortment of beverages (hot cocoa, cappuccino, coffee, and fountain sodas). I then changed into a smock, and had a seat in the waiting area. No more than a few moments later, my stylists' assistant brought me to the back area where the color, cuts, etc. was done. The assistant showed me around in the back area, and then placed me in front of a mirror where consultations were held. I then discussed to my stylist what I had in mind, and she told me how she would be able to accomplish the look as well as adding some opinions of her own. The entire visit took no more than 2hours, and I left feeling amazing!! I would trust any of the stylists to do my hair at Elon Salon. You cannot go wrong, they are all so fabulous!!
