They offer great specials on the weekends, but if you hate crowds, then go on a weekday when it is quieter. There are also specials on weekdays, so you can get that and avoid all the jostling and shoving.

Prices are decent, but we only go now for the specials. If there aren't specials, its not worth going.

Some of the food the awesome (Onion Rings, Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos) some of it is horrible (Fried Mushrooms).

Worst part is, for a English Pub, they don't have a soccer package. Just shows its just a normal bar claiming to be a Pub.

Hand in Hand is one of a handful of Va-Hi bars most locals tend to avoid on the weekends. Hundreds of non-residents park the narrow streets and trek to this Brit-lovin bar serving up pints of Bud Light and shots of Jager from a massive four sided bar. Elbow room is not to be expected during prime hours, and bartenders have been known to, er, inflate prices to the intoxicated... (more than one occasion, folks). During the week however, great happy hour deals and drink specials abound. On a sunny day, the patio can't be beat to throw down a pitcher with friends.

I was at Hand in Hand for a Bachlorette Party on Friday night. I opened a tab but only bought a $6 drink before heading to the next bar. The next morning when I checked my bank account balance I noticed they charged me $50, not $6. It has been 4 days and 3 phone calls later and the money is still not back in my account. Hand in Hand assured me that this is a "policy" that they have that they do because it makes it easier for them so they know that people have enough money in their accounts to open a tab!!! Maybe easier for them, but now I can't buy gas!!! I want my money back! This policy is not posted in the bar nor does the bar tender tell you that you are going to be charged 50 bucks for opening a tab! Don't go unless you want your money stolen from you!!!

I was out late Saturday and went to Hand In Hand to see what everyone was talking about in the Highlands. Seems they just changed over the staff and the place has had a resurgence so I wanted to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised that my favorite in town pub is back!.. The scene was 25-35, good looking professionals and it was fun. New music, lowered drink prices and the service is good.
Parking is free, but i walked from my house, so that wasn't a problem.. I met up some friends and my server told me about the $1 Sundays and I was skeptical.. D

Day two:Sunday 3pm, I went there for the second day and this place has heard the patrons and the locals and now offers $1 Social Sundays with $1 Fish Tacos (good) and $1 PBR's.. Flip cuppers you will like that they have $4 Pitchers every Sunday.. Live music, and the people watching was fun.. i will be back.

Ok, so times are tight and I am on a budget, but that doesn't mean I don't like to have some fun.. Where can I go to listen some tunes, relax with my friends all on a budget? Problem solved..

$1 Sunday Social (officially starting March 1st).. Sit on the patio, order the $1 PBR and delicious $1 Fish Tacos and have a great time for under $10 all day!.. Parking is free and the people watching is great. This is my new hotspot this spring and summer.. hope to see you there... I'll buy you a drink , for $1 dollar of course!

And don't miss the $2 Burger Tuesdays.. All day good burgers $2.. great price for what you get.

Hand in Hand is a nice place to dine any time. Great for lunch or dinner. The bangers and mash is perfect and I hear the fish and chips are the best. Great patio and lots to do in the neighborhood.

This is an excellent place to meet up with friends, or go by yourself and make some new ones which is exactly what I did. I think I now know everyone that works at Hand, and wouldn't trade any of them (especially Vanessa)! Sure there are other places I could go, but I choose to return to Hand because of the comfortable setting and the good food, especially the Pub Burger and the Tobasco Pecans. Bring your friends, or just yourself and your personality, and you should have an amazing time that will keep you coming back time and time again.

Hand in Hand is an "english pub" located in VA/ Highlands area of Atlanta. It has the pub look, but the best part is the outdoor seating area designed to take advantage of our great weather here - decidedly not English though! They have a good selection of beers and wines, and very good burgers. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

So I had just moved to the Highlands and I had been to Hand in Hand a couple of nights for their trivia (Wednesday night). I walk in after a football game wearing my team's jersey and when I walked up to the bar, the waitress, Vanessa said "Zip up your coat or get out." I knew she was joking, so I hung around a minute and had a beer. When I tried to explain that she was making me uncomfortable, she was entirely aloof. Her point was that because her regulars know and like her I was being irrational for having a problem. I pretty much begged her to give me a reason to come back to that bar ever again, but she was too cool (self-indulgent) to make any efforts to make peace with me. There are plenty of bars in the neighborhood, so I ordered a shot from the other bartender, tipped him well and left, never to return again.

The best thing about Hand In Hand is their outdoor seating area, though on weekends it gets crowded and loses its feeling of being an oasis in the Highlands. It's not a tremendously authentic-feeling English pub, but it's still a nice option.

Although Hand in Hand does not have a very extensive menu, the food they do have is pretty good. Their homemade chips are fabulous and they have the best creme brulee I have ever put in my mouth! The staff is very friendly, and they have a wonderful patio!

I recently went to Hand and Hand, after running a tab with the bar a few days later a charge was shown on my card for more than the original amount. The strange part about htis is the fact that I had PAID IN CASH, after speaking with the bar, corporate and the District Manager nothing has been done about this matter, since that point. I suggest that if you do attend that you make sure not to run a tab with ur card if you plan on paying with cash, to prevent any problems in the future.

Hand in Hand - I like the atmosphere but your manager/ owner should get out and have lunch around VH area and see what your competiors are serving up. I order out everyday for our company and for the money and especially during the lunch hour your prices are too high and the portions are embarrassingly small. My clients do not want me to order from your restaurant because they say they are still hungry even when they have had a full entree. If I had the meal suggested on your website for lunch I would have spent about $25 bucks on the food alone and that's without the pint or two I normally would order if I was going to dine in. I don't mind paying for quality food but most places near by are able to serve quality food, reasonable portions and still keep the price afforable.

i know Wednesday night is probably not the best to use as a judge of a place so I'll try to keep this somewhat nice. The place was pretty empty but being in a high traffic area, parking was a bit of a hassle. I was excited to be at a bar that offers a good number of imports and allowed that and the classic seal signage to persuade me into ordering a 5.25 pint o' Guinness. I wouldn't have minded the price if the beer had been poured properly- not dripping down the sides and over a quarter foam when it was placed in my hand. We didn't stay for food, but it looked like slightly gourmet versions of traditional pub fare with basics mixed in. Overall, I think the place tries too hard to be upper brow and falls short of its goal.

Our server was Judy, she was delightful and very prompt with her service. If you go, ask for her.

I was not overall impressed by the establishment itself.
It's very impersonal, dark and crowded with the va-hi kids that are toolin' around with mom and dads credit card.

it just got on my nerves.

p.s. someone told me that drinks should always be ordered from the bartender. Otherwise, You pay for top-shelf and get the cheap stuff instead

Cons: sketchy bar policies?

Great food, good beer selection, super-friendly staff, with free wi-fi to boot. This pub would be at home in England. Parking's not difficult, but cars outnumber patrons. Might be more difficult on the weekend. Great place for a business lunch.

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Beer

This pub has the best pint in town. I can't wait until the spring for the patio to open then I can get a seat at the bar.
This pub has the cleanest toilet in the area. A great place to shake hands with the unemployed!

What fun having areal local pub, yes all those Brits out there will know what I mean... Good ales and even better more authentic Bloody Mary's (ask for barman Steve to make one) Food need a little improvement as it is not quite British enough, yet still very enjoyable.

You want the hands down, best slab of cow in Atlanta? Then look no further than the "Brit Burger" at Hand in Hand in the Highlands.

I've been to the Vortex on several occasions, and have found their burgers to be inconsistent. This is never the case at the Hand in Hand. The Brit Burger is always cooked to perfection (yeah, just like having it your way, except without Dan Cortez) and topped with delicious Stilton Blue Cheese and Tobacco Onions.

The burgers at Hand in hand are juicy, delicious and refreshing. Just like a Peppermint Patty. Except with a bun.

Where am I again? Prince of Wales? Rose and Crown? If you don't mind the cookie-cutter aspect of Hand in Hand -- the same dark interior, dartboards and carpet as its sister bars, it's a nice place to enjoy the weather and a beer. It can get PACKED on the weekends, and I'm not sure the experience is worth waiting in line for, considering the vast array of bars within spitting distance. Parking in the lot is impossible, so street parking or walking is your best bet.

Backing up to Neighbor's patio, Hand in Hand's outdoor drinking spot tops its famous neighbor with a nicer bricked patio and large picnic tables on which to spread out your bounty of food and drink. While it bills itself as an authentic English pub, Hand in Hand is a bit too polished to fit the bill. And it gets sooooo crowded with fresh-from the office North Highlanders.

I shouldn't have to tell you that you'll only get a chain approximation of the English pub experience, but on a good evening Hand in Hand is a great place for meeting friends, especially outside. The food is serviceable, if not special (try the wings), and the beer selection certainly does the job. The place does attract a bit too much of the precious Va-Hi crowd, though, so limit your exposure if trendy types in lookalike yuppie wear make you allergic.
