This isn't the biggest natural foods store, but it still has a pretty good selection. The staff are very helpful; so if you can't find what you're looking for, they'll get you what you need.

Stepping into Rainbow Foods reminds you of what a health food store is supposed to be like. The smell, the "health food" daily specials back in the cafe, even the customers give off that aura. Rainbow Foods is located in the shopping center opposite Publix at the intersection of Clairmont and N. Decatur. I have been able to find the health foods and herbal supplements I have been looking for and have been impressed by the friendly staff. Part of the stores mystique unquestionably is the fact that it is located near Emory University and so it attracts a collegiate clientele (as well as professors).

For those among us concerned about eating healthy, Rainbow Grocery offers a simple solution to buying quality organic and preservative-free food. Every aisle in the store is stocked with wholesome organic offerings. If you're just getting into eating organic or need to brush up, there's a large selection of books that offer advice and wisdom about whole foods and living. The staff is knowledgeable about the products they sell and can frequently recommend something to meet your needs. The small restaurant at the back is wildly popular and from the delicious smells drifting out, I'm not surprised! Selection is slightly above average, but the atmosphere is personal and friendly. Just be careful in the parking lot: at the busy intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont, it can get hairy around rush hour.
