My wife and I have been dining here for several years. We used to freaking love Bambinelli's! Not sure what has happened concerning the ownership or management of this place recently, but it has taken a turn for the worse! We have eaten here probably 3 or 4 times (each time with our fingers crossed and hoping it woud be better than the last time) in the past couple months, and each time have had a progressively worse and worse experience. The service is still exceptional, but even the great service can't compensate for the TERRIBLE food. We live in Decatur, and we used to dine here at least once a week because it is convenient. Each time we have eaten here recently has been more disappointlg than the last! The food is REALLY REALLY bad now. I would be ashamed to call myself an Italian if I were the owner of this place! As a customer, I would MUCH rather prefer to eat at Maggiano's, Ippolito's, or Provino's. Damn... I'd probably rather eat at the freakin' Olive Garden!!

This is an amazing family owned restaurant that is simply my favorite Italian in GA! It is a casual place that can be packed on the weekends, but WELL worth the wait!

Great place to go for Italian food in the Northlake area. Conveniently located behind the mall with a great patio. Salmon was wonderful! Lots of parking.

I eat here at least once a month. I love their pasta. The restaurant is family friendly and group friendly. They also do an amazing job at hosting parties-- I had my rehearsal dinner here. The prices are great-- a couple can get out for under $20 if you are on a budget. If you want to splurge you can do it under $40.

We were made welcome and comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. The atmosphere was such that it was good for both families and couples seeking a romantic dinner. The food was excellent! And the dessert, cannoli , was also made right there on the premises so it was as fresh and wonderful tasting as the rest of the meal.http://bambinellispizza.com/

PROS: Great food, nice people, nice atmosphere
CONS: sometimes long wait for a table

Bonnie and friends/family provide an authentic NY-style pizzeria with great bread, pasta, and pizza. An organist provides popular show/movie/oldie tunes while you dine on authentic Italian.Don't ask for Pizza Hut style pizza here; the pizza is thin crusted, so you can fold your slice like pizza is meant to be eaten. Lunch portions are large, but cheaper than dinner, but dinner is very affordable.

PROS: Good authentic Italian food
CONS: often crowded.

I had the misfortune of wasting almost $30 on 2 meals from this place today. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and shrimp scami.

The "meat sauce" had no sign of meat. How do you have meat sauce with no meat? The sauce had a very weird texture to it, I guess to trick you into thinking you had meat. It also tasted bland like a generic brand canned sauce. I have had canned sauce that tasted better than what I had today.

The expensive shrimp scampi consisted of 5 pieces of shrimp atop a ton of noodles.

I will NEVER waste my hard earned money at this place again. The multiple positive reviews have obviously been written by someone who works there.

Overpriced for what you get. NOT AUTHENTIC Italian food. The bread is delicious. They must import it from somewhere. Surely, nobody in that place has the skills to make bread that good.

I've lived in the neighborhood a couple of years and hadn't yet tried Bambinelli's. So, my adult son, his girlfriend and I decided to try it one evening.

The garlic rolls were pretty good, and our service was excellent. That's all.

My son had lasagna which was unrecognizable. It looked like a bowl of red mush. It was cold in the middle, and he had to mix it to be able to eat it. I had the fried ravioli and baked ziti. The ravioli was terrible, very greasy tasting. The ziti was so uninteresting that it was not good. My son's girlfriend had eggplant parmagiana. Her dish was so salty that she couldn't eat it.

When the waiter came to take our plates, my son's girlfriend expressed that she didn't like hers because it was too salty. He took our plates away.

When he brought the check, he hadn't charged for her dinner and mine. That was very nice. We didn't request that. He just did it on his own. We were so impressed that we thought perhaps we should try this restaurant another evening.

When the waiter returned, my son asked if this was an "off" night, if they had a new cook, or if it was always like this. The waiter replied that it was always like this.

As we were leaving, the man at the entrance mumbled something at us. When my son asked him what he said, he repeated, "Watch that sait intake." This was not a friendly remark, but a snide remark. Unbelievable!

I can't believe that we just recently discovered this place... When you're in the mood for some home-style Italian food, this is the place to go. Portions are huge and the food is so flavorful (the meatballs are the best I've ever had). It's clear that the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Wait staff is friendly and attentive and the owner is always there making sure that everything is running smoothly.

The food at Bambinelli's is always GREAT!! Even on nights when they are busy the owner, Bonnie has an uncanny ability to keep track of the order of her patrons on her mental waiting list! :) It's a home cooked Italian meal. The salmon alfredo was unbelievable and the spaghetti & meatballs were fantastic too! The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Bonnie has even added flat screen/HD TV's to accomodate avid sports fans! Her staff is incredible and hospitable! We'll be back for our next garlic fix soon!

Pros: The only real Italian Restaurant in the state of Georgia!

Alot of restaurants say NY style but Bambinelli's IS the only only AUTHENTIC
NY STYLE family restaurant. First of all, the owner is from the BRONX or Brooklyn,
lives it, sounds it ---SHE IS NY style . We feel at home every time as if we were back in
Brooklyn and we know Atlanta is a long way from that lol...
Garlic rolls out of this world, mussels fradavialo perfect, chicken marsala and every
dish we have had is wonderful. We have been going to Bambinelli's 8 years just wish
we had found it sooner. We come on a Sunday nite (they open just for dinner) like 4pm
as Friday is busy but FUN anyway... I am only half Italian but I know what is GOOD...
The personal attention the management gives us is worth the wait.

We get pizza too for the kids during the week after soccer practice. GREAT !!
Joey Bambinelli, the owner's son makes the best PIE anywhere....
I can't say enough and this is first review for any restaurant I ever decided to write..........
5 STARS for Bonnie Bambinelli for keeping it going for over 25 years...... Like I said,
NOW that's Italian.....

Bambinelli's is without a doubt one of the best, if not THE best neighborhood Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I have been dining at Bambinelli's for more than 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is just about the best anywhere and the pasta dishes are wonderful and varied. I brought very picky friends from Philly to eat there recently and they agreed it was about the best Italian they had had. I lived in Italy for 2 summers and Bambinelli's is very reminiscent of an authentic (not Americanized) Italian dining experience. Bonnie Bambinelli, the owner and hostess, is most gracious and keeps such close tabs on folks coming in that she doesn't even need to write down a waiting list! She has often gone out of her way to make sure that diners are well served and happy. Bambinelli's is usually full, which speaks to its popularity among regulars and first-time diners as well. I would give Bambinelli's my highest recommendation, if you want a fantastic neighborhood Italian restaurant, and the special attention that only Bonnie Bambinelli can give!

My family & I have found a new favorite for great Italian food in Atlanta. While my teenagers love the New York style pizza with very fresh toppings and tangy sauce, my wife and I particularly like the Parmesians...she loves the eggplant and mine is the veal. This restaurant has been open for a quarter of a century, a true testament to the personable proprietor (Bonnie), the quality of the food, the affordability of the dining experiance, and the friendliness of the servers! I can't wait for the spring weather to sit on the patio and enjoy the best of New York right here in Atlanta.

My first impression of Bambinelli's proved to be accurate. I thought that it would be a horrible experience from the beginning just because of the owner/hostess's inhospitable manner and rudeness when we walked in. She hurriedly shooed us against the wall to wait without taking our names or even greeting us. Servers then proceeded to practically run over us as they were running from table to table, even coming through the lobby. When we were finally seated, we had to take silverware off of another table. The ambiance is absolutely dreadful, from the fake bricks on the walls to the plastic "wooden" tables and dull silverware comparable to that of an elementary school cafeteria. Our server seemed nice enough, but he was awfully slow, as he was somehow busy with a million other tables (their first times too I'm guessing). The food was pricey for such low quality; I had the salmon over linguine alfredo, which tasted like cat food. I'm guessing the salmon was frozen and the sauce was made from a Lipton packet. Anyway, upon leaving, the hostess/owner/whatever didn't even thank us for coming or say goodbye. All in all, it was a horrible experience. The only reason that people actually frequent this place is because there's no other Italian for miles, so what do they have to compete with? Next time I want Italian, I'll head over to Nino's or Alfredo's on Cheshire Bridge Rd instead of settling for this dingy little joint.

This place is a great family restaurant. Bonnie the owner is always sitting at the counter by the front door and makes you feel very welcomed. The food is very good. The garlic knots are amazing. Other great things we've ordered are chicken parm and chicken marsala. The Greek salad is also recommended. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants in the Northlake area.

Bambinelli's is a family owned and operated little Italian place. It's noisy and there are usually lots of kids. The food can be a bit uneven. I've had some things that were disappointingly bland but the veggie or meat lasagna are always good. My friend always gets an eggplant dish that isn't on the menu right now but they make it for her and she loves it. And then there are the garlic rolls....always hot and dripping in garlic butter! Yum! We'll keep going back.

The Shrimp and Scallops were dreadful. They were served with a large portion of cappelini. Nothing seemed to be seasoned with anything other than white wine. The scallops in particular had zero flavor. We also ordered Veal Marsala. The veal was too thick and a little tough. The sauce had good flavor, but it was very, very thin. All was not lost, though. There were two bright spots. The veal was served with a side of spaghetti with red sauce, which was very good. The other good item was the Chocolate Mousse Cake. It was very rich and satisfying. Even with two tasty items, this meal was soooooooooooooo not worth $50, including delivery.

Located in the Sports Authority shopping center behind Northlake Mall (food court side), I've enjoyed many a good meal at Bambinelli's when I lived in the area ... and I've also had them cater with take-out to the company that I worked for then. Never a complaint. Pizza with flavor. Great Lasagna and Ziti. Love their meatball subs. Only shortcoming I ever had was that the old man who played the organ music on weekends tended to pump the volume up and down alot ... but he's authentic (and probably Papa Bambinelli) so get seated back a way, or outside on the terrace. He plays great music ... just changes volume too much.

Bambinelli's offers the best Italian food in the metro area. I've been a patron for over 5 years and never had a bad experience! The food is always phenomenal, the service is true New York and prices are very reasonable for food and wine. Don't leave without trying the Spumoni and the cannoli!
