Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff. The family at Dad's has continued to grow along with us including over 300 volunteers and performers. We now entertain more than 30,000 people a year at our two-theatre facility in Inman Park, at public events across the state, and at improv festivals across the continent.
This is a great improv place close to the highlands and little five points downtown. I used to go every thursday. Bring your student id if you have one and save on ticket prices. It is a great place to tag someone along when you're first getting to know them....as in a "date". I love this place.

Dad's Garage used to be the coolest theatre in Atlanta. Ten or so years ago when the original guys started it, the TheatreSports was top-notch and their selection of plays was both unheard of as well as phenomenal. I remember in particular their Southern premiere of Bogosian's SubUrbia. I actually sat behind Eric Bogosian. Amazing. As time has marched on, and some of the original members have left, and some new guys have come on board, the TheatreSports has been lacking, their additional improv shows can at times seem strained, and their play selection isn't as edgy and topnotch as it used to be. Gregorio is gone, and Sean is on the West coast now, but they still got some guys there that can put on some great shows. I don't go every weekend anymore, but I definitely check them out every few months.

Dad's Garage provided us with a hilarious evening! We were still laughing days later, recalling some of the bits. Housed in a huge converted warehouse in Inman Park, the improv provided by actors is enhanced by interaction from/with the audience. A great time!

Dad's Garage is hillarious - the humor can be a little crass at times, but so is most other comedy. It is a terrific place to go with a date and be ready for anything! Some nights are better than others (that is improv for you) but I have NEVER left without a few cramps in my side from laughing.
Best of all, you can get a few of the guys to come out to your shindig and hang out. Though I was not the one doing the hiring, they came out to a party of about 100 and really made the night. The guys were able to poke fun and make some pretty snotty people laugh their butts off!! - Super Talented and not at all expensive! Must see

Always a good time at Dad's, the comedy shows are great. I love bringing my girlfriend here and I'd recommend this as a great date place. The improv really gets the crowd going and interacting with each other as well as whoever is on stage. The prices are great which range from $5-$20 depending on the show. Every time we go we enjoy a few beers as laugh are butts off. This is definitely a place for adults so leave the kids at home.

My friends and I went to Dad's Garage for my b'day after hearing such great things about it. The show was Poker Night at the White House and we figured it would have to be funny since this is a comedy club. It was horrible. If there was an intermission we would have left. We did not understand the humor in it whatsoever. It made little sense and just wasn't funny. Do not waste your $20. Go have a drink instead.

Hmm, Where do I begin? I first attended a show at Dad's in mid-2005. I've been there every week ever since. In addition to the quality shows and pure genius improv, the casual, comfortable atmosphere makes you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. The people there are amazing -- both on and off-stage. The humor is creative and intelligent, with just the right amount of quirk. It's always a great time. There's nowhere else quite like it. Just be warned that you'll feel a strange gravitation to return as soon as possible.
Pros: Price, People, High quality entertainment.
Cons: Just don't leave valuables in your car.

Sometimes the shows can be hit or miss, but I've still always enjoyed them. When I have a group of friends out for a night on the town, and none of them know each other, I start with Dad's Garage . . all the fun & laughter is a good icebreaker :-) I went last night & the price has gone up a little, that's a bummer, but if you have an Entertainment guide coupon book, you can find a buy one get one free coupon which will save you $15.
Pros: funny & fun
Cons: cost

The theatre itself is kind of run down and it serves cheap beer but the actors are hilarious and the audience participation is really funny. I definitely recommend it to anyone that loves improv. It's def a first date place as well!!
Pros: funny actors, casual
Cons: kinda shabby

Cons: none
