Carey Paul Honda is pleasant and very knowledgable

by Dinah S.

Five out of five in every aspect! The pleasant and knowledgable staff made the experience wonderful.

I went in August and got a CRV LX. Everything was great.

Response to Jen M regarding financing

by B H.

This is a response to Jen M regarding purchasing a car using Honda Financing. A couple of points to consider

Once you sign a contract using Honda financing to buy a car (same with any dealer), its not a final transaction. The seller takes your offer and tries to get you the interest rate and terms. If the financing company does not agree to the said terms, the seller cannot sell the car - hence the calls days later about the car not being sold and to come back to dealer.

They have the right to also get the best rate and add up to 2% to the rate without disclosing what their best deal was.

They or the financing company can also change the deal after the fact. Case in point (we have 800+ fico scores at the time and unblemished credit) we bought a car for 3.9% financing years ago from one of the Japanese companies. It included upside down insurance for the life of the loan to make the total car price figures equate to the monthly payment (also, never agree on monthly payment - instead agree on total price). I was notified three weeks later that this GAP was reduced to 9 months - not the lifetime as put on the contract. Fortunately, I cancelled the coverage getting back $400 (it actually shortened the loan term by 2 1/2 months roughly). Others though aren't so lucky.

The above are reasons why never to take dealer financing - even if its 0% and always better to go through a local credit union or simply pay up front.

Carey Paul Honda is way out of line with their service prices

by Dawn O.

How is it I got a price quote for a catalytic converter for labor and parts for $1238.00 yet I take it to a local Meineke just down the road and for parts and labor its only $400? I also got a much better warranty 5 years from Meinke versus 12 months from the dealership who incidentally did not have the part in stock and wanted it paid for in advance to order it and could not return it if I changed my mind. I would not recommend them for service, they are way out of the ballpark expensive. The service rep was nice I will give them that. This taught me to shop around before doling out such big bucks for service. Sad with the economic situation we are in people like this can still do business.

Carey Paul Honda is Extreme Pressure

by L L.

We made the mistake of visiting these guys during the recent CFC program. We went back and forth over price for over two hours and ended up leaving. Their original pricing is way overinflated. When asked to see the invoice cost they wouldnt show it.

For the next week, the salesman repeatedly called my wife and I each day coming down a little lower on price till by the following Friday they hit our target. I called a day later only to find that the GM had shot down the target offer and we were back at square one.

Over the course of the next two months we were repeatedly contacted about once a week from different dealer employees as to what it would take to get us back to the dealership.

We finally had to tell them that we were not going to buy a car from them ever.

Carey Paul Honda is Relatively painless!

by Rosemary K.

Thanks. I was impressed with the dealership and the friendliness of the agents. I also want to tell everyone here that this was my very first visit and I ended up driving away in a new CRV.

Carey Paul Honda is very professional & fair

by Scott H.

We had looked for either a recent used or new Honda pilot all over the ATL metroplex. Price on a 2008 w/ under 14,000 miles was notably lower than BB or Edmond's recommended listings. Sales person was resonable, and they were accomadating on trade-in. Fair value on both trade & purchase. After getting the run around @ 4 other ATL Honda dealers, this was refreshing. I would recommend them, and will do business with them again.

Carey Paul Honda is as decent as any other dealership

by Mary L.

Bought a Honda Element 3 weeks ago from Carey Paul Honda. It was an extremely pleasant experience until we started crunching numbers, negotiating my trade and the price of the Element. Suddenly, things weren't as friendly and carefree...and they started to put a lot of pressure on me. There wasn't a need for that because I was going to buy the car....I wasn't playing any games and I made that very clear. I let them know up front that I wanted a win-win situation...I wasn't going to overpay and I wasn't planning to underpay either....just wanted a fair sale. That is exactly what I ended up getting. I think people go into dealerships thinking these guys are "the enemy." They're really not. Treat them with respect and 9 times out of 10, they'll treat you the same way. I think we're brainwashed into believing that dealerships are evil. I agree there are often scams....but come on, no one is stealing your money right out of your wallet. You have the final decision to either make the deal or not. Don't act like a victim.
I would definitely recommend Carey Paul Honda. My experience was positive.

Over all a very good experience

by David W.

I didnt actually buy a car from CPH, but I shopped there in October. Not sure if it matters, but I was looking at the 2009 Honda Accord EXL.

My experience was good overall. My salesman was pretty young (in his 20s) and was very informative about the product details etc. He was really nice and easy to talk to. When we talked numbers I felt like he was trying to play me a little (since I was a female) but we eventually got to a number that worked for my budget. I didnt end up leasing the car b/c the timing just wasnt rightI told him I wanted to wait until the economy got a little better. He has followed up with me 3 times even though I asked him not tooso that was a bit annoying, but I understand it is part of his job description.

All and all I would rate them 3 out of 4 stars. When I am ready to buy, I will definitely use them.

You people who rave about the new car experience are idiots...

by jcs s.

of course they're nice when you're buying a new car you idiots. They're doing everything they can to seperate you from your money. Once you purchase a car from them they try to rip you off even more in maintenance. That's where they make the real money - not in new car sales.

UNETHICAL AND DECEPTIVE SERVICE DEPARTMENT

by SHOMY M.

The service department of Carey Paul Honda is conducting unethical and deceptive business practices. They are performing unnecessary works and replacing parts on your vechicle by scare tactic sales pitch. For example the technician told me that the engine mount is broken and needs to be replaced. If don't replace it now it is going to cost me thousands of dollers. To replace it the charge is $229.00 for labor and $150.00 for the parts when many other dealer ship charge only $75 labor and $150.00 for parts.

WOW....Totally awesome...

by Anonymous

I am very perplexed at the other statements found here as they have just won the torch award from the BBB for their great customer service. I especially like the young lady that i spoke to on the phone. She was very helpful and took her time to make sure that I understood everything. She did not pressure me or push me into anything. She even hooked me up with a great salesman who answered all my questions, and took fabulous care of me. It was the best car buying experience of my life. I even have my first service appointment set up for 3,000 miles. I would send everyone there and Honda's are great, especially on gas consumption.

Avoid this dealership at all costs

by Larry L.

Cary Paul Honda has a long list of dissatisfied customers due to their dishonest, unethical and incompetent practices.

They have continued to harasses me to buy from them even though I never bought from them or even wanted to buy from them.

Nobody needs a car, or car service, bad enough to deal with people like these.

Avoid this dealership at all costs. And tell your friends and acquaintances also.

Spent thousands; no satisfaction

by Jeff C.

I had a problem with my Honda Civic Hybrid driving rough - jerking and shuddering when it hit certain speeds. I took it to Carey Paul twice and spent several thousand dollars without the problem being resolved. After my first visit, they told me what I was experiencing was normal for a hybrid. I drove another Civic hybrid for a while to confirm that this was not the case. On my second visit, they replaced the start clutch, which made absolutely no difference with my problem.

I took it back for a third time; they diagnosed a transmission problem, which I had suspected. However, they would not take any responsibility for not fixing the problem earlier, and would not subtract the cost of the (as far as I could tell) unneeded repairs. My service advisor (who was far better at talking fast than listening) made a show of trying to get the regional manager to give me a free or reduced-price transmission, but somehow my transmission problems were all my fault, even after I provided service records. I finally took my car back and am still driving it with a defective transmission.

I advise everyone to RUN, not walk away from Carey Paul Honda's service department.

Call me if you want a better deal than you get frm Carey Paul Honda

by Arun P.

I recently purchased a car because they were "supposed" to be giving a great deal as per deal made with my employer. 10 days later, I find out that they take you to the cleaners. I am letting my employer know about this and also the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs. If you are ever in the market for a new car in
Gwinnett County, let me know and I will hook you with the best price ever.

Smooth Talking Scam Artists

by Jen M.

We traded in our 2003 dodge grand caravan for a 2007 honda pilot in July of 2007. Upon trading in, the dealership agreed to pay off our van and we financed with their preferered lender. After signing all of the paperwork and taking the Pilot home we get a call from our finance guy Paul Kimmey - he said that we needed to come back in to sign another paper. When we got there he claimed that they weren't able to finance at the interest rate that we signed to (although our credit was perfect), instead the rate and corresponding payment would be higher - unfortunately we fell for this scam and signed. One month later I get a phone call from the bank who I had financed my van through - they say that they haven't received a payment for August and want to know where it is - I explained to them that I traded the van in and they should have already received a pay off. As soon as I hang up from them I call Carey Paul - they tell me that the payoff has already been sent and email me a fedex confirmation number - they claim that they hired someone who didn't work out so it took a little longer to send the payoff out. The next month I get another phone call, this time not as nice from the bank who financed the van. They ask why I haven't made a payment for 2 months. This time I am LIVID - I call Carey Paul again - I leave 5 messages. No one calls me back. In the meantime, I see my old van in a parking lot, I notice by the dealership tag that it was sold 2 days before. I call Carey Paul back and tell them that they can't sell something that they don't have a legal right too because they haven't paid for it. They blame someone else and say that the payment was sent to the wrong address. After threatening to sue them, they overnight the payment to the proper address at the bank. So 2 months later my perfect credit is now questionable because of their incompetence. I would highly discourage any potential Honda buyers to shop elsewhere - I will NEVER go to Carey Paul Honda in Snellville GA again. In my opinion they are crooks - everything that they did to us are common car sales scams! If you value your hard earned money stay away!!

Great Purchase - Annoying Service

by Rachel E. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,199

I really enjoyed buying my used Honda at Carey Paul - it was by far the bet experience I had at a dealer and I felt good buying from them. That being said, I have found their service department to be a mixed bag. They are always trying to get me to do "routine" service that is not listed in the manual and then they argue with me about who is right. I think they assume I wouldn't bother to check. They are pretty intense about this stuff --- I get e-mails telling me that my car is probably due for a "32550" mile service and the like. Its pretty crazy.

My friend wanted a new honda because her old one didn't look that good anymore. Shen went to Carey Paul Honda and they took care of her very well. They found her the perfect Honda and they didn't try to get more money than was expected. They were very nice and not really expensive.
