This is the BEST place to visit in Madison, not only saying this as my future mother-in-law lives here, but the people are great and the town is charming! My fiance' and I go here every time we visit her mother and spend an hour or two in there. Too bad they are moving 18 miles away, yes it is closer to my fiance and I, but Madison won't be the same with out them there!!

I expected so much more from a Dealer of Antiquities. Charles, the owner of the store recently sold me a set of Binoculars that he guaranteed were "Confederate Used", as substantiated by his "Authenticator". As it turns out, they were WWI and even had the words Royal Air Force and a picture of a Sopwith Camel bi-plane etched into the eye piece tubes. It was not something that was easily seen (I didn't see it), but an "Authenticator" should have caught the error. When I returned the glasses for a trade of other merchandise, I asked for some sort of minimal compensation, say $10 or $15 worth of credit to offset the 200 miles that I had to drive to return the binoculars. Well, you would have thought that I asked for the moon. Charles said that he was 80 years old and had never heard of such a thing. It's called Customer service, Charles and it's not a new concept. When you guarantee that something is authentic and it turns out that it's not even close, you should bend over backwards to make a mends. It's a neat store, but be extremely careful if you place any importance in your Civil War articles being authentic.

My wife really likes to go antiquing and she usually takes me along with (supposidly to carry stuff) and Madison, GA is a great place to do this. This store has plenty of antiques and more recent collectibles. They also have some artsy stuff mixed in, so if you are looking for a gift, you can probably find it here. If you like antique shopping, this shop, and the whole of Madison square is definitely worth a stop if you are passing through. Madison is just off of I 20 on the way to Augusta.
