Elegant surroundings, excellent wines and everything we ordered was executed to top level of a restaurant in Europe. This is the only Atlanta restaurant that even compares to anything in Europe or New York.I used to live in London and went to many business meetings and this restaurant is like one of my favorites. I would like to see a few more vegeterian items as I am trying to lighten up.

Next time I will order pasta.

My family and I went to this place last Saturday, and we surely had a fantastic time eating together at Aria Restaurant. The food was superb. It was not stale and you can tell its freshness through its aroma and taste. The wait staff was very polite and the overall service was excellent. We would love spending another Saturday at this place again.

We had a great experience here celebrating my birthday. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the American food with its great atmosphere. The server that night was so attentive with our needs and made sure that we had everything we needed. Truly a great experience.

From the moment I walked into Aria I was treated terrible (I am in my late 20's). I was rudely butted out of the way at the bar by a snoby patron. We were then sat down in an overcrowded area. They had to to pull the table out for my girlfriend to get into the booth since there were about 3 inches of space seperating us from other diners on both sides. The food was fine, but not worth the price. We had asked for two of the same desert and the waiter rolled her eyes at us (which is not what I expect from a $400 tab for two). We were rushed through our dinner. We spent our time listening to the other couples conversations who were seated right next to us (they might as well have put us in a booth together). I do not recommend Aria. The ambiance was not what I was promised (far from romantic), the staff and patrons treated me like a homeless person (I was in sportcoat and slacks), and the food is just okay. I went in hoping to have a great date and left very disappointed.

Pros: Nice bar area

Cons: Rude staff, rude diners, and overcrowded

No where else in the world can you get such amazing food at such a low price. I come from up North where you'd be lucky to find a restaurant like Aria that doesn't cost $50+ per entree. Aria really raises the bar with some to-die-for dishes at relatively inexpensive prices. The ambiance of the restaurant is phenomenal whether you're going out with friends or on a date (I've done both here with terriffic success). This is the only upscale restaurant in Atlanta I've returned to, and trust me, I will be back for more.

Pros: Incredible Food, Perfectly Prepared, Great Atmosphere

Cons: Hard to get in

Four of us went last night and had a great time! The atmosphere was upscale without being snobby and everyone from our waiter to the valet parking attendant were so friendly and helpful! The menu changes daily, and no one got anything that wasn't delicious. Anything roasted or braised is a specialty there and the warm chocolate cheesecake was light, airy, and something different that hit the spot. The tomato salad was fantastic. with meals between $20-$30, it was worth every penny and very easy to get to!

My husband and I decided to try Aria as a wedding anniversary treat, since it was rated by Citysearch as one of the best restaurants in 2008. I read the reviews and was uncertain how the experience would be. On one hand, this restaurant was rated as having the best food, and we really appreciate good food. And yet, there were a fair number of unpleasant experiences, such as some of the customers who had rude waitors, or were seated in an excessively noisy location, etc.

I have to say that we had a great time. The food was amazing, particularly the bread and appetizers. Very unique and simple but elegant presentation. I wasn't as excited by the entre (the trout - cooked well, but a bit mild in flavor compared to the crab cakes and prawns for appetizers), but after 2 appetizers, bread, and a glass of champagne, I wasn't too hungry. The wine list was extensive. Given this, there were drinks at every table, which probably resulted in the boisterous atmosphere, but we were able to have a nice conversation (of course, you may want alternative seating if you have known problems understanding speech in noisy rooms).

Every person we met was courteous, and the waitor was most accommodating. I had planned on an hour and 30 minutes for dinner, but it seems like they take time between serving the appetizers (each one individually) and mains. This is usually enjoyable in my opinion, but we had a plane to catch. After notifying the waitor of our time constraint after the 1st appetizer, and suggesting that we take the dessert to go, he simply told us, "that is not a problem, we'll make sure you're out of here by [the said time]." Very nice. I would definitely eat here again. Unforetunately, I will have to wait for another occassion because $100 for 2 is a bit steep for me to be a regular.

Nevertheless, the food was great - our compliments to the chef!

Off of Peachtree street in Atlanta's Buckhead Neighborhood is this little gem, if you blink you may miss it.
Went here last week for the first time in anticipation to try something new after dining at all the buckhead and midtown restaurants in atlanta, so tried Aria.
Nestled between some sort of mixed use almost motel looking thing and trees on the other, can make this unappealing. But when you pull in the parking lot and are greeted by the valet, you can almost forget the low lit questionably sketchy parking lot that you pulled into.

After getting inside, it was not busy at all for a Thursday evening. When you come in, they ask you to take a seat at the bar/lounge area set aside with beads (need to upgrade that). Then they pretty much make you get a drink at the bar to entertain yourself while you wait for a table (not sure why the wait if over half the dining room was empty).

The main dining room reminded me of miami or some rendition of scarface. With white overpowering most of the room and art deco feel definitely set it apart from all the other restaurants in buckhead area.

The food was good, the server was very friendly and responsive. Ordered the filet mignon with crabcakes, both spectacular.

Would definitely suggest trying it out, its very intimate and you probably wont have to wait for a table, especially in this economy. Being in a strange location with no extreme pizzaz makes me think that this place might not be around forever.

Cons: Forced waiting area before seating

Overall a very good experience. We were seated within 10 to 15 minutes of our reservation. The bar was crowded but the waiters took the drink order promtly. The food was very good, and the service was excellent.

Just had dinner at Aria for the third time and, just like before, I had an amazing time.
Start by relaxing at the lounge area that yes, is small and mybe a little dark for some but the maitre d? and bartenders are attentive and seem ready to get you a drink ASAP. In the dining room everybody is friendly and energetic; they really look like they enjoy working there. But don?t be distracted by the swanky beaded curtain, the awesome dog sculptures or the crazy chandelier, food is the star here; don?t miss the lobster cocktail or the tempura prawns, short ribs are so good I would eat them every night. Desserts are great, order a warm choc cheesecake and a more seasonal like Georgia peach tart.
Aria is elegant and upscale but relaxed and fun, unlike other restaurants of this caliber. I will go back may times and recommend it to everybody. Thanks ARIA

After reading the reviews in the Atlanta Magazines and hearing nothing but good things, I decided to take my wife to Aria for our anniversary. We arrived and walked through the door and were very surprised to see what was inside. I loved the unique decor and artwork. It was a little crowded. I expected it to be. Knowing it is one of the most visited restraints in Atlanta. The serves was awesome. Our waiter was very nice and knowable able about the wine list and menu. The food was the delicious. We could tell right after the first bites what all the hype was about. The dessert was amazing. You can?t leave without have dessert at Aria. It was such a good meal and experience all around. Thank you Aria.

My husband and I were very excited to go to Aria for our wedding anniversary. To say that it was disappointing is an understatement. We showed up (with reservations, of course) and had to wait in the bar about 30 minutes for our special table in the "wine room" which we did NOT request. Yikes! They took us down dark treacherous stairs into an even darker, hot and humid basement room that smelled like mildew. Despite the fan blowing directly in my face the air wasn't moving at all down there and it felt like a dungeon. There were some bottles of wine hanging around though - hence the name I guess. I knew immediately we couldn't stay there and when our waiter showed up we asked to move. We were given multiple eye rolls and lots of attitude from everyone we encountered as a result. They did eventually bring us back up to daylight but seated us right in the middle and it was extremely loud. The food was good but not great. The wine list was extensive but overpriced. Wait staff was rude and not very attentive. Romantic dining? Ah, no! Oh, and they ran out of toilet paper in the women's bathroom! Please. Definitely not recommended and we won't be back.

My spouse and myself went to Aria for a special celebration after the reading the outstanding reviews that the restaurant had and were truely disapointed. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. Forced to wait in a too small bar that closely resemble a tomb. When finally seated the dining area was terribly noisey, quiet conversation was impossible. Food was so-so, certainly nothing to justify their earlier review. On a bright note they had an outstanding wine list.

The food, the environment, the service...all totally delicious. I love this place. The Braised short ribs with celery whipped potatoes, sugar snap peas and babette carrots is an amazing meal that I have tried to replicate other places. No one else even comes close.

The management if doing something right here so please do yourself a favor and try it!!!

Aria not only has a beautiful atmosphere, it also has wonderful food. The service was excellent and the atmosphere makes it perfect for a first date or any type of romantic occasion. I had the beef sirlion which was AMAZING and for dessert had the warm chocolate cheesecake which was like heaven on earth. Literally everything I put in my mouth was wonderful and not to mention the drinks are fabulous too! I look forward to going back in the near future and highly recommend going here at least once.

I wanted to take my bf to the best resturant in town on his bday. I decided to try Aria since few magazines had rated as the best restuant in town. I made the reservations 3 weeks ahead of time. I asked for the private room and told them that it was my bf's bday and if we couldn't get the room, I wanted somewhere more private and I also wanted a personalized cake. I called 2 days ahead and the hostest was extremly rude. She told me the room was not availabe and if I wanted the room I should have called much earlier. I asked if we could get somewhere more private and she said she wil try. Once we got there, it took them 20 minutes to seat us. Then they gave us a tabel by the stairway in the middle of all the chaos. Our waiter took 15 minutes to come and greet us. We decided to try few appetizers, 2 enteres, wine and dessert. We asked for his recommendations. Everything was just okay. Once it was time for dessert, they brought us our dessert. He forgot all about my bf's bday and his personalized dessert. Once I asked him for it.....he gave me an attitude and then brought it. They paid no attention to my request. I was very dissapppointed and I have no idea why this place has even been rated. Atlanta has many nice resturants....and this is far from one of the best ones in town.

First impressions were not great as there was no one at the front desk to greet - we had to wait a couple of minutes before we were seen throught the wierd chainmail curtain. The bar man was distracted by his conversation with someone else who seemed to know the all the staff so service was slow and impersonable. We had a table reservation for 9pm we were eventually seated at 9.45pm with no apology. The food was OK - very 'home comfort' - nothing remarkable. Wine completely over-priced. Reminded me of my grandmothers saying - "fur coat but no knickers"! (translated as - might look grand but really ain't much!) Won't be back.

If you are looking for excellent food coupled with fantastic service enveloped in a clean, crisp yet cozy atmosphere, then look no further. Aria is a step above and the Chef, Gerry Klaskala, is other-worldly in his ability to create the most exquisite food you have EVER tasted. We recently celebrated my husband's 40th Birthday there and Chef Gerry created a very special menu just for us. Without any guidance from me other than to say tell him we are "adventurous," he prepared dishes such as braised short ribs, celery root soup with black truffles, lobster ravioli, duck, foie gras, and many other simply amazing dishes. Each course was paired with a wine chosen him and the Sommelier (who, by the way, is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly) and the combinations of the wine and food created a perfect symphony of flavor. It was hands down one of the best meals we have ever, ever had and we both travel extensively and eat at many well-known restaurants throughout the U.S. (La Bourdain, Masa, French Laundry, etc). We have crowned Aria our new "special occasion" restaurant and will be celebrating every anniversary, birthday, promotion and any other excuse to dine there. Words cannot describe the fabulous food, staff, atmosphere and overall experience.

Our friends have raved about Aria. So we decided to give it a try. What a fabulous experience we had. The interior of the restaurant was very hip. All white with very modern art. Check out the dog scupltures when you walk into the dining room. Our waiter Greg was wonderful, he said we had to have the celery root soup with truffles and parmesan. We split it. It was devine We also had the beet and goat cheese salad and the smoked salmon appetizers both of which we would recommend. He also suggested the Ribeye Steak au Poivre. I have to say it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It must have been two inches thick. very tender and very tasty. It came with these huge crispy potatoes. My wife had the Sole which she totally enjoyed. Dessert we shared the apple tart with caramel ice cream. which was also great. We can't wait to go back.

First, of all, we placed a reservation shortly after lunch this past Friday to dine here at 7:45 pm. I expect that with a reservation I need to be sat when I come in. If not, then, within 15 minutes. Instead, we weren't sat until 8:30. The hostess was a ditz and of no help.
As far as the meal goes, I had the trout which was amazing. The wine was fresh and served appropriately, and the service was good. However, the DUCK! Do not get it! It tasted wonderful, but the portion was ridiculous! They really need to put how many ounces it is on the menu if they plan on charging $27 for 6 pieces the size of pecans in the shell. It was an unpleasant experience and we will never be back.
Also, the server asked if we needed change, which one should NEVER ask.

I am starting to think that most people in Atlanta are easily impressed with restaurants here. Our dinner at Aria was good, but nothing special and certainly nothing to rave about. The lamb tenderloin starter was good, but nothing I have not had at several other restautants. Ditto with the pork entree. The warm cheesecake dessert, which was billed as Atlanta's best dessert for the last six years, was OK but nothing special. Nothing wowed us at all. Given the high prices, we will avoid this overpriced, underwhelming establishment from now on. The service was attentive, but nothing that I would not expect at a restaurant of a similar pricepoint. Overall disappointing given the high expectations.

A few friends and I went to Aria for dinner, and we had an amazing experience. The food was all good, from the ravioli appetizer to the perfectly prepared trout. The wines were also excellent. The service was a bit slow, but not unattentive. The ambience is fantastic; beautiful artwork graces the walls throughout the restaurant. Definitely go to Aria!

We started coming to Aria a little over a year ago and we were wowed from the start. The service and food just can't be beat. We had another incredible experience at Aria the past Friday night. We started with a bottle form the well chosen list. A Ponzi, Pinot Gris which was sublime. I had the Wild Mushroom Soup with Black Truffle Custard. It blew my mind. Two of my other dining companions had the Warm Lobster Cocktail, I had it before and recomended they try it. The smiles couldn't be wiped off they're faces. My wife had the Crisped Prawns, they were enormous. For entree's I had the Snapper with avocdo and papaya which was probably the best thing I've had all year. we also had the Short Rib of Beef (always very good) the Slow Roasted Pork (ditto) and the Black Sable Fish which are waiter had strongly recommended, my wife is not a big fan cilantro, but I think she is now. They're desserts are the best in town but we only had room for two. The Georgia Apple Tart with Caramel Ice Cream was fab and the Chocolate Cream Pie which we've had before was as good as we remember. Aria is probably our favorite restaurant in town, we also love Bacchanalia.

Popped in on a Wednesday with my usual dinner pal, although the it was a slow starter it finished nicely. The bar area's sofa aren't very comfy, but the leather wall gave her decorating ideas. They did give a menu while we waited to speed our pleasure which was a nice touch, and jazz they pipe in added a little spark to the evening.

The Crab cake appeitizer was okay, not the best, and dinner was the short ribs for her, the SC Pork for me. Good again, but not the kind of food you go out in the street and stop folks to talk about. For dessert we split the pound cake, which is served warm and was a treat. Overall a good experience, and I would feel comfortable bringing other people. We weren't rushed when lingered after the bill, which was a nice turn.

This was my first visit to Aria and probably my last. We had reservations for a Tuesday evening and still waited in the bar for 30 minutes before we were seated. the food was OK that's best i can say. I had alaskian halibut which was prepared well, but was unforgettable. my date is vegetarian and i was so surprised to see that they do not accommodate vegetarians. The waiter asked if he wanted a steamed vegi plate ( heah) thats why we eat at a nice upscale restaurant, to eat a stemaed vegi plate! One thing that was positive was the desserts, they were outstanding!!!

We had heard so much about Aria I was afraid there was no way this restaurant could live up to all the hype. However it exceeded our expectations!

The room was an interesting dynamic between traditional classic architectural detailing and modern slick lighting and finishes. As an Architect, I loved it!

My husband ordered the lamb and I ordered the alaskan halibut. My husbands lamb bursted with wonderful flavor. My halibut was light and fresh and wonderful. The combination of the mushrooms, snowpeas, mashed potatoes and the fish was fantastic.

For dessert I had the warm chocolate cheesecake and my husband had the boston cream pie. Both were incredible, but after many many tastes, we concluded that while the boston cream pie was the best boston we've had, the cheesecake won. It was sex on a plate, it was incredible!

Aria is one of those restaurants where you always know you'll have a great dining experience. I have been there at least 30 times over the many years it has been open and not been disappointed once. I've been on dates, for business, and with friends. There is a reason that it is listed as one of Atlanta's top 10 restaurants. Because it is!

My husband & I went for Valentines Day after a nice experience here last year at a work dinner. We both came away feeling unimpressed and dissappointed. The waiter was slow to greet us, then brought me white wine even though I ordered a cabernet (was he even listening?). He was flat out rude when he realized we were not ordering 3 courses, just entrees & dessert. The food was very good - my pork was wonderful but my husbands' short ribs were just OK. Dessert was wonderful; the pound cake is amazing! But our cappucinos came out well before the dessert so we had finished them when our dessert showed up. So much for coffee WITH dessert. We agree that for our money, Aria was not the place to go and there are too many other nice restaurants in Atlanta where we have better experiences.

Aria makes too many mistakes to be in this price range. Service was way too pushy and rushed. The dining room is a very bland white on white with nothing very distinctive about it, although the small bar area at the entrance was nicely designed.

The food is good. Lobster on broccoli and potato puree was excellent and the foi gras was expertly made. The entrees are not as creative and you could easily get them at many other restaurants in town.

Overall there are many other restaurants that I would rather spend my time and money at.

My husband took me here for my birthday and it was great. Although we had reservations, we still had a short wait, but that just happens in restaurants sometimes. The bar was cool and provided GREAT people watching. Our food was fabulous and the service was attentive but not hovering. A little slow on refills, but it was a busy night. It was a costly dinner, but worth it and I recommend the short ribs, they were phenomenal.

Dined here about 3 times now and I am going back this weekend. I have never had one complaint about Aria. I recommend the restaruant to anyone that I come across when conversating about dining. I have had meals at resturaunts all over Atlanta and I always come back to Aria because I know it is going to be the best. I am a young kid and I save up just to go back and dine there. I love it and so does my girlfriend. Go get the Young Jeezy album. Try the scallops, but you HAVE to try the seared tuna. Everyone needs to try this place at least once. You can not find anything on the menu that is unsatisfying.

very nice ambiance. unpretentious attentive service. good wine selection, although Spain was absent, much to my dismay. The dining room is a little loud, but not annoying.

we had pan seared scallops with corn succotash, mushroom ravioli with sauteed beef, thin roasted lamb for apps.
duck breast, filet mignon, and slow cooked Neiman pork in balsamic and port for mains.

all were very good. very memorable was the cous cous with star anise and lemon zest. Light and fluffy.

Dessert was a chocolate pot de creme (share this with two, or die) and warm light chocolate cheese cake. Both were painfully delicious.

well done.

This was my first time at Aria, I ate there on a Wednesday night. It is a very cool space. Very good service overall - friendly hostess, attentive lounge server, the waiter was attentive, did not rush us, and the sommelier was great - very knowledgeable. The food was great especially the lamb loin appetizer. The porcini mushroom ravioli was also very good. For our entrees we had the Tuna with Bok Choy and the Chicken with Goat Cheese both were very good. For dessert we had the Warm Chocolate Cheesecake, which was a little underwhelming. All in all I would go back. The only negative was the lounge the seats are a little uncomfortable, and the linen sofas were a little dirty feeling.

As an avid Aria consumer, I freguent the restaurant on a fairly regular basis. I'm happy to report that Aria maintains it's elite dining status in both function and form. "Consistent" is a word diners don't often hear, and editors often omit when characterizing a restaurant. But I can assure you Aria goes above and beyond to fill it's 4 star dining shoes. The food- Amazing. Hearty comfort food at it's best! The service- Outstanding and very attentive. However I must admit I missed being greeted by my favorite Hostess Megan. The ambiance is truly extraordinary, untouched by anywhere else in the city. I could not ask for a better dining experience anywhere. Whether it's taking clients to an early dinner or having a romantic evening with that speacil someone- Aria wins the blue ribbon for Best In Show!

I would not say that I had a terrible experience at Aria, but it was not good. The server took a very long time to greet us, was short and arrogant, brought us the wrong wine, and was incredibly unattentive. (I had to retrieve the bottle, chilling several feet from us, for refills). But the food was probably where I was the most dissappointed. When you pay for a meal at a place like Aria you expect certain things, such as temperature and kitchen techniques to be performed correctly. My duck entree (ordered Medium Rare) was cooked medium well (if not closer to well) and the subcutaneous fat was very poorly rendered. The skin was chewy and unappetizing. The dish also came with a dumpling (I am not exactly sure what they called it) made from duck confit. It was unbalanced and not at all good.

My wife and I do "date night" once a week. We like to see and do all that is out there. We've been to Pano's, Chops, Ruth's Chris, Prime, Nona's, Nava... all of which are great restaurants in their own way. But for the best of all those things combined in one dining experience, do Aria!

Eclecticly, yet tastefully decorated. Very romantic. The service was perfect, yet personable, down to earth and non pretentious. They have an often-changing menu with delightful choices. I had the filet, my wife had the roast pork. Her's was as good (or better) than mine! Then the best chocolate cheescake I have ever had!

Aria is our new Atlanta favorite!

Although I have read many reviews about it not being a good choice for more than 2-4 people, my group of 6 had a great time. The staff was very accommodating and since we went as part of our restaurant club, the chef was able to give us samples of some of their dishes. The celery root soup was absolutely amazing. I would not have ordered it if the chef had not brought it to the table, but it is worth getting. Also, the scallops were very good.

We went to Aria on Friday night because of the rave reviews. The meal was good overall with the exception of the crabcake appetizer. Someone had recommended it in their review, but I thought it was terrible. It was fried and had a lot of breading....just the opposite of how I like my crabcakes. The tuna was great, and the cheesecake was definitely the best part of the meal!

We were expecting the usual snotty attitude and too fussy food of many of Atlanta's "best restaurants." However, we were delightfully surprised to find a warm reception, a completely professional professional waitstaff, and food so deliciously prepared that the high quality ingredients were evident at first bite. The crabcakes are a must, along with the roast pork. Wow! Our only complaint is the over-priced wine list. Too few choices in the $50 and under. One should not be reqired to pay $75 for a decent Chardonnay.

It's wonderful to see that restaurants like this still exist in Atlanta! The food was unbelievable, and even better when I learned that the chef changes the menu every day according to what is in season. The staff were fantastic, from the hostess, to our knowledgeable waiter, to a courteous and efficient busboy. The wine list is also incredible, and good value too.

The lobster apetizer wasn't worth the price; but the rest of the food was simply amazing! Hostess needs improvement on customer service and waiter wasn't the best, but again food was amazing. The atmosphere was great, a good romantic place for a date or a special occassion. Good for not more tha 4 people. Did I say how good the food was?

The food is excellent ... would suggest staying away from the chicken (have had better chicken for the same price). A lot of thought has gone in to the food ...hence the price.

I would recommend going with a max of 4 people anything more would be a crowd. And it is not romantic enough for 2 !
