The first few times I went to this salon I was thrilled even though it is really, truly expensive (my first visit cost more than $300 once I added the recommended hair care products). Sadly, it has been a different story since then. The quality of the haircut depends on the stylist, and the choices of stylists changes as they come and go.
My first stylist was everything the Siggers reputation promised. She gave me the best haircuts and color of my life, hands down. Unfortunately when I showed up for one appointment I learned she had left and I was assigned to another stylistthis one a young girl who was so nervous and unsure of herself that she kept asking me what to do to the point that I asked her if I was her first ever customer. (she told me she hadn't gone to beauty school but had been there for two years, starting as the receptionist). I left that time with a bad $25 Fantastic Sams haircut for which I paid the same $90 I had paid for the great cuts I'd gotten before.
The next time I went back the rookie was gone (not that I would have let her cut my hair again) and they assigned me to the Siggers' son. He knew what he was doing but was not particularly creative or concerned about making sure he gave the customer what they asked for. Even though he cut my hair multiple times he never once asked me if I liked the haircut, or even stopped by the chair to look at the finished style after my hair was blown dry (the stylists at Siggers don't wash or dry the client's hair themselves). It was after my last $90 mediocre haircut that I accepted the sad fact that even at a quasi-famous, high ticket salon like Siggers, it all boils down to the specific stylist, and the odds of getting a great cut there are no better or worse than at other salons.
Having said that, let me say that I still have my color done there (they are still the best at doing color) but I dont recommend them for cuts. Save your money and find a great stylist who makes their living based on their personal reputation and not the mystique of a high-end salon that might be just a wee bit guilty of believing their own PR.
