Food and atmosphere are always amazingly consistent. I have been eating here for alomst 4 years now (Note: The Vinings and Brookhaven locations don't compare to this location in terms of atmosphere). Pricey, so I only go on special

I ate here the other night, and it's been a while since I've been to Noche, the quality of the food and service have definitely gone down a little bit. It used to be a great place to grab a bite to eat with friends, but it's more of a bar

Tonight was a memorable experience. That is- remember not to go there again. Had to return our margarita drinks twice and finally gave up on it. They tasted awful. Even the manager agreed. The food was tasteless. Not worth a second chance.

Great location in the Highlands. Great atmosphere and cute little patio seating (even though it overlooks the parking lot). The tapas is mediocre. Nothing is really that great or stands out.

The food was superb and the service was truly amazing. They prepared the food meticulously, and the smell just made me hungrier.

The tapas here were amazing. I especially liked the lobster tail...who knew it could be this cheap and good? Noche is very fancy and perfect for a date. The waiters were very polite and made sure I never wanted for anything.

Planted at the intersection of Virginia Ave. and N. Highland Ave., Noche is a richly colorful, upbeat tapas bar. A gussied up singles crowd can be found flirting, margarita-in-hand at the thin bar area up front, or sharing some small plates of Latin-infused, Americanized tapas in the dining room further back. It's a place to see and be seen, so get dolled up and be prepared to shuffle around elbow-to-elbow while waiting on your table- which seems to be the point, doesn't it?

I love this place. Avoid it on Sunday if you don't like crazy crowds.

We spent about 4 hours at the new Vinings location, has a fireplace in center and great outside seating.

Would go back.

$10 monday meal is far and away the worst meal I've ever approached. Compatriots' reviews were varied but consistent:

"This is McDonald's quality food without the taste."

Diner 1: "They are clearly using leftovers from the weekend.
Diner 2: I'm certain that the leftovers' came from the waiters' personal themselves."

For god's sake, we were served Penne pasta with texas chili. Really, that's what spanish tapas are about? What's surprising is that this course was actually more authentic than the first course which was weak-old iceberg with a dash of some gelatinous foul dressing.

The tragic food somehow exceeded the service which was plagued with indifference, apathy, and self-hatred. The only logical explanation for the waiters' detached dreariness is that they are forced to sample the food which they serve.

The dinner was an abomination of every sort. I'm embarrassed to have darkened the door of this establishment with zero self-respect. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Noche, where you constantly wonder if you're on candid camera.

Noche has become one of my top favorites and has converted me into a true Tapas fan. The tapas are generous, incredible, yet affordable. The $8.00 marinated skirt steak tapas plate is affordable, plentiful, and to die for. The mini lamb gyros will melt in your mouth. The $9 lobster tail tapas plate was also amazing...yes $9 for lobster tail! The ambiance is very cool Virginia-Highlands style with hardwood floors and an artsy vibe. Our waiter Michael was simply amazing. He was there at every turn to pour wine for us and make excellent suggestions. I love that they offer $12-$14 glasses of wine for $7.00 on special. I highly recommend Noche.

This inside is very small so it can get crowded, but I love to sit outside on the patio. It's up on second story so interesting place to site and enjoy great tapas.

Noche is a popular tapas restaurant/ bar in the popular VA/ Highlands area. It is tiny, so at times it can be crowded and unpleasant to eat here, but if you find it empty one day, stop in for some great food and drinks. Outdoor seating available out back when weather permits.

Had drinks and some tapas here last night with my favorite Turkish and Irish girls, Zeynep and Nicole. I haven't been in the space since it was The Dessert Place - anyone remember that?

I've always been a big fan of small plates that a table of friends can share, so kudos that.

Anyway, we had:
Fresh Mozzarella & Tomatoes - tasty, I would order again
Chicken Quesadilla - my pick; probably the best of the bunch
Lobster Taco - sounded good, but the lobster didn't taste like lobster I'm used to; I probably wouldn't order this one again
Grilled Shrimp - didn't try this one, but the girls loved it.
Grilled Skirt Steak - really enjoyed this, especially the crispy tobassco onions that come with it (why does everything that's fried simply taste better?)
Grilled Chicken & Vegetable Skewer - this was just OK; grilled veggies on a stick is hard pressed to make you go "WOW!"

Once I got passed the 50 something couple making out next to us all night long (Seriously! I mean, really? Is it necessary to let the whole place know that you've got a pocket full of Viagra? Gross.), it was good. I would go back but, honestly, with La Tavola just two doors down, it probably won't be for a while.

I see someone mentioned "rude waitresses" .. well has anyone asked to see the manager due to something a waitress did or said? Well we did during our last visit on their $10 Tapas night.

The waitress told us not to share our tapas with our other guests (my parents) when in fact I only gave my mother one bite of my food!

During our dinner I never once asked for more "all you can eat $10 tapas" and my parents did not even participate in the $10 tapas and they both spent over $60 on their tab for dinner!

When our waitress told us not to share, my father asked to see the manager.

I don't know who this woman was BUT SHE was NOT management material! I am shocked Noche has that woman even representing their restaurant!

She was beyond rude and was verbally arguing with us while we were just trying to explain how we were taken aback by what the waitress said.

When my father tried to stop the arguing she cut him off and abruptly stormed off!

I loved Noche before this incident but after that I will NEVER step foot in that restaurant again! That was a waste of $50 my boyfriend & I spent and definitely a waste of $60+ my parents spent! (note my parents don't even live in Atlanta- they traveled out of their way to have dinner with us and that is what they had to experience!)

With that said -- SAVE YOUR MONEY and TRY one of the other great restaurants in the area such as Fontaines or Highland Tap or Murphys. Or for gods sake go to Taco Mac! You will have better service and better management! AND definitely better food!

I have to say that this was a great surprise. We had no problem getting seated, which is unusual. The food was great and with a few brews, we were out of there with full tummies, great conversationas, and a check that was less than $40. Ask about their group discount card, it gives you another 10% off!!!

I don't go here very often because I just find the atmosphere annoying--drunk 20somethings imbibing cheap alcohol and trying to relive college days. Still, it's very popular, so maybe I'm just an old grouch.

Service is great in the restaurant though the bartenders are a bunch of idiots. Be it from alcohol or stupidity, you will not receive good service at the bar. Food is mediocre but quick.

Pros: Slow incompetent bartenders. Three bartenders for a bar that seats twenty. That says something.

I've read lots of reviews, and noticed that the ongoing theme is an xtremely rude hostess. I've been coming regularly for the past year (all you can eat Mondays for $10!) and haven't experienced any rudeness at all in recent months. There WAS a really rude hostess before who gave us an attitude all the time, but the new one (younger girl) always treats us well. She remembers us every time we come in and gives us the table we want. I probably committed a "sin" myself when asking for an outside table and changing to inside - we had a party of 6 or 7! But she didn't get mad or hassle us - she smiled and changed our table immediately.

Its always been my favorite place on the weekends for the drinks and fun. The food is yummy and tasty and I'll be coming back week after week.

I was reading the reviews and saw the reviews about the rude hostess. And, I thought I would coment as well. My daughter and I were there on mother's Day. And, the hostess seemed really annoyed and rude. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. But, I met a group of my girlfriends there another time & it was the same attitude. And, you are exactly right, why put up with that? There are too many good restaurants in Atlanta to go to. And, it is too bad, because the food is good @ Noche too.

This is one my favorite places in Atlanta. The calamari comes with a flavorful garlic aioli sauce, the pulled pork is just like south ga bbq with a twist, the cheese plate is great for picky eaters (3 cheeses, apples, breadsticks, and dates), and the queso fundido is better than your average white cheese dip. The monday night AYCE has a different menu so don't come expecting to get your favorites for $10. Wednesday night there are $3 house wines and sangria. The tables are really close together but the food makes up for the lack of private conversation.

So I would imagine the food has to be good here or someone would have already had the hostess fired or taken it upon them self?s and put that bizzatch in her place. I'm from Clayton County and this doesn?t fly were im from. I?m planning going here next month. If I catch lip from some hostess who makes 6 bucks an hour, im pulling out the pimp h0 glove!

My boyfriend and I ate here with my boyfriend's boss and his wife on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. We arrived around 7:30 and requested a table outside. There were no tables available outside and the hostess said it would be about 30 minutes so we decided to wait at the bar. I should mention that there was NO ONE seated inside at the time, so it would have been easy to sit inside at that time. Forty-five minutes later, the same hostess came and sat us INSIDE. Discreetly, I walked back up to the hostess stand to ask her why she had not seated us outside as we had requested. She said she didn't know we wanted to be seated outside and we would have to now wait longer if we wanted to sit outside. She was EXTREMELY rude about the whole situation, and very clearly has no business being in the food service industry. If I were the manager, I would let her go before he/she loses more customers. I am not one to complain about restaurant experiences, but we eat out at Atlanta restaurants all of the time, and this experience definitely stands out as one of the worst experiences I have had. The service at the table was bad too. They brought us the wrong food, and it was very, very slow. I have been a Noche fan for a few years now, but I will not go back after this experience.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a late lunch while spending the day in the Highlands. I typically love Tom Catherall's restaurants, and this one is no exception. We came during the day, when it wasn't quite as packed, but you could feel the festive ambiance. The margaritas and mojitos are delicious here, and they have a fair variety. We played it safe, since it was lunch, and ordered the queso fundido with chips, the chicken empanada, the crispy fish taco, and their version of shrimp and grits (which isn't on the menu anymore). Everything was good, but not AMAZING. Overall, this is a great tapas place to sample if you are in the area. But I'd recommend Pura Vida for those who really know and LOVE tapas.

My friends and I are all new to Atlanta and love to try new resturants around town. We've been to Noche's about four times now. We usually go on Monday nights when they have the all you can eat. The menu is different every week so it's a great way to try something new. The downside to this is putting up with the "seater." She is extremely rude! When we arrived, there were literally two other people in the entire place and she asked if we had reservations. She made it appear that it was a real pain for her to have to seat us. We asked for a table for 4 and she said she couldn't seat us until the entire party arrived. We explained that the other 2 would arrive in less than a half hour and we would just like to start eating and enjoying the margaritas. We'd never had this problem before but we also had never seen her there before either. Even though the place had all these empty tables she refused! And really seemed to enjoy it. And to top it off, she had no problem seating an older white party that was incomplete. Needless to say, we won't be going back regardless of what type menu the chef can put out! It's just not worth the trouble and disrespect.

I have to rave about the great meal I had at this bright and ecclectic VH eatery. We were seated immediately in the table of our choosing and although drink service was a tad slow, once our orders were in, a cornucopia of bite-sized delights ranging from spicy seafood morsels to BBQ(delicious pulled pork) to grilled meats with exotic dipping sauces were ferried to the table just as the last course was disappearing into our eager mouths. Of particular note was the miniature lobster burrito that complimented the specialty Margerita that I had ordered. Noche is a great place to grab a bite, enjoy some ambiance and build a solid foundation on which to float an ocean of liquor at surrounding VH bars and taverns. Free Parking in the rear!

Noche is a great place to grab a bite, enjoy some ambiance and build a solid foundation on which to float an ocean of liquor at surrounding VH bars and taverns. Free Parking in the rear!

Pros: casual atmosphere, attractive clientele, menu variety

Cons: unattentive staff, slow drink service

Noche left a bad taste in my mouth in more ways than one... I know in the restaurant biz arriving twenty minutes late for your reservation is equivalent to committing one of the seven deadly sins, but stuff happens. Unfortunately, immediately upon arrival the hostess took it upon herself to berate me and my guests about our tardiness. And I quote, "First of all, if you are going to be late for a reservation, you need to call. Secondly, when you make your reservation you need to give us a phone number so we can call you if there is a problem. We just took your table apart and now we have to put it back together, blah, blah, blah." After consuming sub par drinks and tapas we were basically told you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here (another party was slated to use our table). Next time I am in the mood for drinks and tapas I will go to Eclipse de Luna where the food has flavor and the staff isn't rude.

Bar at Noche is good for inexpensive margaritas but way too crowded to enjoy. Seems VH area is overrun with cheap eats for cheap crowds. I will still go again but not during rush times. There are other restaurants in the area to enjoy small plates and discounted drinks without the mad dash Noche seems to draw. Great decor, colorful and energetic.

Delicious selection of tapas and a great wine/drink menu. The bar area at the front is crowded - making it difficult to get to the host stand. But once you are seated at your table - there is plenty of room - and it is a lot quieter. The staff was great - offering suggestions at my request and keeping the table full of great food. I recomend the pulled pork - it was very tender and tasty!

Well, actually, even with a reservation, you still might have to wait: this has happened to me a couple of times. Monday night is a great deal because it's $10 per person for all-you-can-eat tapas. The list is pre-set, but has enough variety to keep everyone interested (and you can get as many refills of whatever dishes you especially liked). If you do go on a Monday, though, definitely try to show up early, early, or late, late, because it is crowded. The bartender was friendly, too. All in all, I agree with the previous poster: definitely try it out. You won't break the bank doing so!

"Your review must be at least 100 characters. Yours is only 9." -> I had put 'see above' at first, because 'eh' is the only thing I really wanted to say. But I guess I'll break it down: good service, but food that I could easily make at home, and probably better (but I'm an excellent cook ;0). I went for their 'all-you-can-eat' tapas on a Tuesday night, but after trying everything, I only wanted the soup and bread with seared chicken on it at the end. I still recommend going though, because they had some other stuff on the menu that seemed worthwhile (lobster taco, etc), and my intuition is that they probably pull off some regular dishes nicely. And if all else fails, their white peach sorbet would be worth the trip. Hey, guess I could pull something out pretty easily. Try it out, you won't be breaking bank.

Recently went to Noche and loved the food and service! The small plates are great if you are looking for a light dinner and the service is impeccable. Definitely worth going back to! Enjoy!

Pros: Margarita's, Small plates, Ambience

Cons: Parking can be tough, but to be expected in V. Highland!

The bright colored walls make this restaurant a genuine tapas bar. The chips are awesome and are only $3 for chips, great cheese dip and awesome salsas. The margaritas are a steal at $3 a piece. You will love this place if you enjoy spanish food and a fairly noisy environment doesn't bother you.

The restaurant is very narrow, but decorated very well. If it is a nice night I would sit on the patio there seems to be a lot more space between then tables. I went with my girlfriend on a Friday night and we were seated promptly. The crowd picked up after 7 o'clock, so don't hesitate with making reservations. The food was great for the price you were paying. The special tapas can reach the 8$ mark, but all the other tapas are $5 and less! The food was very tasty and something I would love to go back and eat. The food is not remarkable, but people must realize for $3-$5 a tapa this place is excellent! I would definitely go back and the wine and beers were decently priced as well. The desserts (Chocolate tres leches I believe it's called) was awesome. I would recommend this place for anyone. It can get a little loud because the restaurant is not too big, which again is why I say "sit on the patio." Our service was really nice as well. The drinks and food came out promptly, almost too fast, but my girlfriend and I like to dine so for others it might seem perfect.

My husband and I went on a double-date at Noche and we had a fabulous time. We all ordered all the tapas we thought looked good, and then shared it among the 4 of us. I'd really recommend the fried calamari, fried chicken, and the margaritas.

The wait was pretty long - about an hour - on a Friday night, but the bar is nice to sit at, and it doesn't take long to order food while you're waiting.

Overall, it was a great place and I would definitely go back.

I've been to Noche a bunch of times, but I am consistently disappointed with the tapas. The food bland and unimpressionable and I would not recommend it as a noteworthy southwestern restaurant. The desserts are absolutely horrible-- don't even bother. I do like the atmosphere-- especially when seated outside on the patio-- and I do like the drinks (we had Sangria, mojitos and cosmopolitans). The waitstaff is decent, but not remarkably excellent. Grab a drink or two here on a Tuesday night, but don't waste your money on the food.

I met with a friend for drinks last week on 8/29/06. As far as I remember the food was excellent. The small plates were cool since it allowed us to sample many different dishes. The margaritas were very strong and therefore the rest of the night was a blurr... The service was fast and the dining room was comfortable. I would dine here again.

I had lunch @ Noche w/ some friends on Sunday, when they have $1 Dos Equis, and the food was great. At the recommendation of a friend I ordered one of the specials since he said they are usually very good. I chose the pan fried grouper w/ mango salsa and it was excellent. The value was great considering the $1 beer and the service was attentive & friendly.

Noche is a very fun place to go with a group of friends and enjoy a great selection of drinks. The selection of small plates is excellent and very well prepared. Table service is a bit hit or miss, but then again, it is not fine dining. Definitely recommended for good food, drinks and fun with friends.

Great food!! Great margaritas! Definitely make reservations or be prepared to wait. They have a huge margarita list. Everything on the menu is great. Try the fried chicken/mashed potato, seared scallops with wasabi sauce, and lobster taco. All are excellent! The pulled pork was unexpectedly good with a corn cake and crispy onions on top. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends. Great for small groups too.

Noche is a new favorite. They do have a great margarita...but their seared scallops are AWESOME! It's a nice place to go and have some fun w/ friends or co-workers. Try to sit outside though. The bar is cool too...
Our server was so-so...but they were also really busy and the drinks and food made up for it. Takes a while to sit, but it's worth it.

I went to Noche with a bunch of friends from work and sat outside. It did take a long time to be seated but it gave me a chance to have a glass of wine and stand out front and watch all the people walking by. Once seated, everything was great. The food, atmosphere, service, etc.

After living around VH for a few years, I finally went to Noche - but was rather disappointed. The $3 Monday margaritas turned out to cost $5 (they tried to make some money on 5-o de May-o, I guess - but they were still pretty tasty. Their chips, however, were the worst nacho chips I have ever tasted - stale and greasy. Terrible combination! I didn't eat dinner, but my friends were rather disappointed with their fajitas. My recommendation: go to drink, not to eat.

We love this place! During the week- they have drink specials- we like to stop in for Monday's $3.00 Rita's- which are huge!!
The food and service are always great. I usually go for the crab cakes- with the chipotle mashed potatoes myself, but for my friends have tried the other dishes and were pleased as well. The quesadilla's are huge- and although are served as appetizers- would definitely be considered a meal in my book.
We like to sit at the bar or on the patio- if the weather is nice. Haven't sat in the other seats- as it seems cramped.
