Curry Honda Atlanta is incompetent, expensive, and non-communicative

by F T.

I had a problem with my hybrid vehicle and brought it to Curry, which promptly misdiagnosed the problem. I then drove around with the car for 1 day before it totally broke down. When I brought the car back, they took apart the car to diagnose the problem without my permission, and then claimed that the labor cost to put the car back together to take the car somewhere else would equal the labor cost to fix the car. They have now not fixed the problem twice, charged me more than I would've paid to someone else, and, to top it all off, never called me back promptly to tell me that they were taking the car apart or even what the status of my service call. If you'd like someone to take care of your car, even if it is a hybrid, I would recommend Far East Motor Works, which is an honest company that I have used previously.

unwanted service

by Larry H.

I went in for a required transmission fluid change. Curry Honda did a transmission flush. I called Honda and they said transmission flushes can cause transmission problems. They do not recommend doing a flush. I usually take my Honda to Ed Voyles Honda and I've never had a problem there. Curry Honda definitely needs to be a car dealership that goes out of business.

AWFUL SERVICE..exhorbitant prices

by D P.

They are only interested in your money. they will go to any extent to charge more and do unnecessary repairs. I got my honda's transmission changed which was out of warrenty but Honda paid for the transmission, and Curry honda tried to charge money for which they already got paid from Honda. I'LL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. Any positive comments you see are posted by their reps.

Easy to work with

by Shannon F. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,398

We recently bought a van from Curry Honda. We requested an internet quote and it was the best deal out there. We went in, chose our color model and the deal was done. No hassle, no haggling, the salesperson was very pleasant and friendly and very knowledgeable. What a nice easy car-buying experience for once.

decent service, awful prices

by gan s. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,731

got 60k tune-up...i mean it was overpriced like hell and didn't do everything i wanted them to do. I mean for ~500 dollars i think they can afford to flush the coolant. Service also took ALL DAY (8am-5pm)...i would goto fareastmotorworks from now on....look them up on google!

PROS: none
CONS: they're a dealer, what else do you expect

Car repair is slow

by Chao X. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,589

I had an accident and brought my car into their shop to repair. Initially they told me it will take 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, I didn't get a call from them. Then I called the repair guy. He even didn't pick up the phone. I was angry and call their help desk and try to complain to his boss. Anyway, it took more than 6 weeks for them to replace a front light.

Would not recommend service center

by mkelly2010

I did not buy my Honda from Curry Honda so I can't say if it's worth it or not.

It is not worth it to visit their service center. I waited for hours, even though I had an appointment.

I had to call and complain over spam snail-mail. It was one of those terrible scams to "extend" your warranty. They were extremely unpleasant to talk with, talked down to me, even though I was cordial.

would not recommend, please spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Cons: waited for hours (had an appointment)

Horrible expereince!!!

by drivemecrazy07

DONT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING YOUR NEXT CAR HERE. They are behind your money. First of all, the online specs of their cars are not the actuals. For instance, the online spec may say the car has power doors, power windows etc but the actual car would have manual ones.In a way, you are being lured into going to their dealership. Sales reps try to push you into a deal and not respect your financial constraints as a buyer. The most surprising/wierd thing is you CANNOT take a used car for a pre-purchase inspection. When I asked them if I could take the car for an inspection, it was a flat "no". ???how can you expect a buyer to buy a used car without getting it inspected???!!!!! They told me that I can take the car for an inspection only after signing the sales agreement and making a down payment. After that, I'll have 24 hrs to get the car inspected and get back to them in case of any problems. If there are problems, the money would be returned. Who is going to believe this??? NOBODY WOULD MAKE THE DOWN PAYMENT W/O GETTING THE CAR INSPECTED.
When I pointed out the differences between their online ads and the actuals, the so called sales manager who sits in the glass cubicle tells me to read the "Disclaimer" on their website!!! Nice joke...why dont you advertise your Disclaimers instead of cars???
I've wasted my time and money travelling back and forth to this dealer. I will NEVER step into this dealership again and highly recommend others to look elsewhere if you value your hard earned money.

Cons: Sales team

Very happy with my purchase

by sprooth

I would definitely recommend Ron Cunningham, he was an excellent salesman. He was very knowlegable about the car and did not try to rush me or pressure me at all. This was my first car purchase and he went the extra mile to make sure that I comfortable with my purchase and everything was perfect.

The prices at Curry Honda are fair (I bought a fit which are in high demand so I knew I would have to pay MSRP). I was also impressed with the gentleman Jason who did all my paperwork, he did not try to sell me unnecessary policies, he explained what they offered and left it up to me to decide what I wanted with no heavy sales pitch.

Pros: The salesmen I worked with had a lot of integrity!

Horrible Customer Service! Service Reps are inadequate & unorganized!

by gt0005a

After excellent service at Honda of Hollywood for 5 years, I thought that my experience at Curry Honda would be similar. The service has gotten worst each time I go. My first experience dealt with the Service Manager, Chris. He was very unresponsive and didn't bother to tell me that the part that I paid for (sunroof visor) was now absolete. He does not check his email. Mind you, Chris has gotten a promotion to management.

My second experience involved Brad. He is hard to track down when you're trying to check the status of your vehicle. We played phone tag for an hour. He will write down the other items that need to be fixed on your service report, but doesn't bother to explain them. Brad is also very spacy.

My third experience was the worst. Monday, June 16 I took my car in for an appt to fix the ball joints and fuel induction system (Brad's comments from my previous visit). When I arrived, no one besides the mechanics, even took notice of me. It took 15 minutes for a service rep to even acknowledge me and ask me what I needed. The scheduler put me down for a 1pm appt with Brad. He didn't bother to check...Brad is off on Mondays. So I was stuck with Corey who was out to lunch. I waited 3 hours in the waiting area for them to only tell me that they couldn't do the ball joint work because it was a special order and cost $1000. It took them 3 HOURS to do a fuel induction service (this involves just flushing the fuel system with fluids.). I had to call to check the status of my vehicle while waiting in the waiting area!!!! Art Thorpe puts me on hold. I call back....he states that Corey is busy and has a customer waiting on the other line. I told him, "I'm the other customer!" Corey did not come and update me on my vehicle until I called him and I waited for the car on site!!!

This is the worse service I have ever experienced. Try to find a reputable Honda mechanic that does work on the side. You'll be better off.

Pros: Location (inside 285)

Cons: Everything else-service, price, organization, service reps

No service No explanation! What's the problem?

by scorpio1103

Don't set a reservation for me when you are going to make me come in first thing when you are open and have me waiting for 3 hours long and have done nothing to my car! What is the problem here? I come here for service all the time and feel like you over charged on everything you do here including the simplest thing as an oil change! Wow! my last time here after this one and of course all my honda driver friends will not come here neither! Pathetic service, pathetic service manager who does not return phone calls, and last but not least, pathetic service rep....(you know who you are)!

Pros: honda's are good cars!

Cons: Bad service in the service dept.!

Awful service. Got cheated with service and transmission

by DP2073

Awful service and the reps do not hesitate to lie and charge for things that are not necessary to change during service. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. You are better of going someplace else saving your hard earned money.

Curry Honda bad experience

by mx746

I went to buy a nice used vehicle from Curry Honda in Atlanta, brought the ad that was in the autotrader magazine, sat down with the salesman who pulled up the listing on Curry Hondas own website and the prices matched. I began signing paperwork to buy the vehicle. Halfway through the salesman returns from the office and says there is a mistake in the price, and that this vehicle is not acutally $24999 but $27999. I responded that I wanted the price that was advertised in the auto trader (which was also the same price that was on curry hondas own website on curry hondas computer on the salesmans desk right in front of me.)After two offers from the dealership to get closer to the advertised price I went home. I called the manager, and said I felt like I was a victim of the bait and switch. She said she was sorry I had a bad experience and they dont do business like that. If this was the only time a dealership has done this to me it would seem like an honest mistake, but this is classic car dealer scam stuff and if they really made an honest mistake in the pricing of the vehicle, why then did they move to within $500 of the advertised price. I feel they just wanted more for the car than advertised price and knew if they held out I would pay more.

Best Honda service experience ever!

by mugenitr

I took my Honda into their service department because I was overdue for an oil change. I didnt have an appointment, but they took me right in anyways. The other Honda place I use to go to would have made me wait 2 hours at least without an appointment. The service advisor was very nice and extremely professional. The waiting lounge is huge and even has a plasma TV in it. My car was finished in 30 minutes and they even put a cold bottle of water in the cup holder for me. Talk about great service. They gave me a check list of the condition of my tires, brakes, hoses etc. All this included for the price of a simple oil change. I was truely WOWED!

I will be taking my Honda there for now on, especially since they're the only Honda dealershiop inside the perimeter. Great people, great prices, and guarentee their work. Im sold. Highly recommended.

Pros: Inside the perimeter, nice waiting lounge, friendly people

Cons: none.

Great car buying experience

by mparks

We just purchased a new Civic from Curry via their Internet sales site. Three years ago we purchased an Accord the same way. Both sales experiences were great...we got good prices, no hassle, very fast and professional service both times. We also have our cars serviced at Curry and have always been happy with the experience...although Hondas really don't need much in the way of service...at least that has been our experience.

Pros: professional, good prices, good selection

Awful Service!

by edinovo3

They promised my car would be fixed in 9 days. It was actually "fixed" in 23 days. The problem that my car was brought in for the first place was not fully fixed so I had to bring it in again. They don't satisfy the customer at all!

Repair service slipping

by erinbehan_citysearch

While my first several auto body repair experiences were top-notch, my most recent visit, or should I say visits, were extremely disappointing. For my last repair, I had to refuse to take my car home TWICE because the repairs were improperly performed. These were visible mistakes like not painting the entire area and not lining up adjacent parts. While the mistake was acknowledged, the apology was half-hearted. The damaged area still isn't fixed right, but how many times can I drive 45-minutes out of my way to find my car still in disrepair?
