I took two guitars there . One i just wanted set up it had no problems when i got it back it buzzed everywhere the 2nd one would not stay in tune after they replace the nut and put it in wrong it still would not tune $200.00 for nothing had to take both guitars to a another shop where they where fixed right and had to pay again. The Fret Shop is bigger than a box, they have 2 suites and one suite is a custom building shop, John Marshall has taught everyone at Southeast guitar repair including Mike Marshall and Tim Joy at Atlanta Guitar Works, so who would you rather have the teacher or the student??

This shop is great. I had a problem with my Les Paul and the owners have done everything to try and fix it for me. I haven't gotten it back yet, but I know it's in good hands and being taken care of. They are always friendly and have even offered to loan me a guitar if I need it. I have been very pleased and will go back for future repairs and needed accessories. Labor cost is dead-on and they show professional attention. To the person below..you must have never dealt with someplace like GC or other stores around th area where they treat you like cr@p. I also had some Dimarzio pickups put in a few months back and they did an awesome job and were quick. You owe it to yourself to check out this little gem of a store.

I think that they do great work. And to the other guy that wrote the last review- They can fit ten people back there because it is also a school to teach people to build guitars. They also have a shop in Lilburn that is only a shop. The one in Snellville is a school and a shop. They are very busy and have a lot of famous people who come in there because John Marshall is a well known guitar builder. He has custom built guitars that he sales. His school is mentioned in some guitar magazines. I would rather have my guitar done by a professional; then just throne together fast. Keep up the good work!

I haven't been overly impressed with this repair shop. The owner is very nice and helpful, but the handful of others working there actually worry me. They seem pretty clueless. The shop does good work and their prices are reasonable compared to other shops, but if you need your guitar back in a hurry...forget get. You better have a backup b/c they seem like they could care less and that they are there for non-working musicians. They are slower than a seven year itch. If they have to order a part for you, it will take about a week just for it to arrive before work starts. I'm talking something simple too like pickups, etc. The labor turnaround is quick once they get the part, but getting anything is the problem it seems. Bottom line: just another repair shop that I wouldn't write home about. If I had a closer place to take my stuff I would. And for the other review left by the other user...there are not 10 people working there...it's more like 3. There is no way humanly possible to get 10 people in this store that is the size of a shoebox.

This is one of the best guitar shops around. You can watch like 10 workers at a time make custom guitars, while others are doing maintinence on old guitars. They are very smart and often fix little things free of charge. I would trust them over other music stores such as Guitar Center and Music and Arts any day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
