Hate is a strong word, but me and my husband had been shopping here for ten years until today. Gigi, the new owner, has not only brought in overpriced "antique looking" items, but has turned it into a glorified garage sale of want to be artists, and junk collectors. The selection has suffered with a lack of taste, and is focused on made from china items. We buy mostly do it yourself improvement pieces and found two such pieces a couple of days ago, we usually pay in cash, but we thought we might utilize the "layaway" Plan. To our dismay, upon returning and deciding against purchasing the items, we were told that we would not get our deposit back (we were not told and did not sign and such agreement upon procuring the layaway receipt). I was personally offended by the rudeness of Gigi and her employees. Gigi just simply stated you do not get your deposit back. I told her that I had been a loyal customer for the previous owners, never utilizing the layaway until two days ago, I also explained that I was neither informed verbally nor in writing, of this so called rule. Gigi says all sells are final. I offered her a moment to correct her comment, but she did not, I then preceded to remind her that I had not purchased any items yet. Gigi replied that I planned on purchasing it so all sales are final. I was flabbergasted at the lack of integrity and morality in this woman. I had not taken any items out of the store, but according to her I had purchased them. We quarreled momentarily and I finally stated "I am not leaving here without my money or my check".. I told her that as a business owner even if I had signed a statement or agreement and understood there is no refund, as a rule I would have at least offered a trade or store credit in order to keep a loyal customer such as me and my husband. She simply told me to never come back and painfully returned the money she owed me. In todays economy one would think an owner would go above and beyond to keep and retain customers. I will not be returning and I will purposely go out of my way to tell anyone and everyone what happened to me. Shameful.....

Old and new that is what you will work out with. Thier items are well organized and a the store had a homely feeling. I really enjoyed shopping without a crowd.
