I visited this spot last night and was very very disappointed.Id eaten here once before and was offered a half pitcher of margarita
because I was by myself so this second time I ordered the same thing.First of all I ordered the same meal I had the first time however this time the chicken was dry and the whole dish just didnt taste the same, but I went on and ate some of it and just chalk it up to bad luck. However when I got my check they charged me 17.95 which is a full price charge for a half pitcher of drink, even though i was charged half that price last time.I asked to speak to the manager and he was NO HELP at ALL!! He told me with attitude that that they dont offer half pitchers even though I had one sitting on my table and said that if I had that last time it must have been a one day thing.Yea right. He then took off about 3 dollars and some change as if that was suppose to make everything okay and told me that there was nothing else he could do even though he is the manager.I went on to have to pay $23.98 for and 7dollar meal and what should of been a 8.95 drink. He told me he would "take care of me next time I come in" and I told him dont worry about it because I wont be back.If you are looking for a place where the customer isnt right even if they are then your at the right place but if you want to be treated with respect go somewhere else.

I was excited to go to this restaurant after all the good reviews I had seen. Needless to say, I was very disappointed by the actual experience. My boyfriend and I sat outside on the patio, which was nice and large, but the chairs were pretty cheap and the table was very rickety (we kept spilling a little bit of our drinks every time we touched the table).

When we sat down we were immediately presented with chips and salsa - which were fine. We then ordered a 3 item combo appetizer. The empanada wasn't that much better than something from Taco Bell and the chicken quesadilla wasn't great either. The other item (I can't remember what it was called) was unedible.

We also ordered drinks - one "Texas" margarita (basically a cadillac), and one red wine sangria. Both came out with very little ice and were warm. The sangria was ok, but the margarita wasn't really up to par.

After that I ordered two tacos (one carne asada, and one carnitas), while my boyfriend ordered a kind of pulled pork combination plate. I didn't try the combination plate, but my boyfriend said it wasn't anything special. My tacos were also mediocre. The tortillas were partially burnt, the meat was fairly bland, and there seemed to be more onions than meat. I was not impressed.

Luckily, while the food wasn't good, the service was excellent. Our server (as well as someone else who could've been a food runner or a manager - not sure) checked on us often, but not too much to become annoying.

In conclusion, Las Margaritas is a good place to go if you stick with the chips and salsa and maybe a couple drinks (beer would be safe), but if you want good Mexican food, head to Nuevo Laredo instead.

On a Sunday and after I had won a tennis tournament, my boyfriend and I searched aimlessly for a Mexican-like restaurant. After scouring Buford highway and strangely going into a couple places whose prices were crazily expensive (I am talking like $40 appetizers... It was weird!), we came across cute Las Margaritas! It has a patio that is heated in the winter, and an inside that is decorated with a Latin American like bright and bubbly vibe. This place has a charm that you don't find in many restaurants.

My bf and I actually visited there for the second time last Sunday. It is a little far from Castleberry Hill, but certainly worth the drive! The prices are great and the menu is broad with numerous options for even the most picky eater. I can't wait to go back!

I've been to Las Margaritas several times, and so far, I can't say enough good things about them. I've suggested it to my friends a number of times when we're going out, and had my sister's surprise birthday party there. When you do that, since you suggested the place, if things go badly, you kind of feel like a schmuck. Instead, everything went perfectly, and every time, Las Margaritas staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. Great for groups and they also have theme nights.

The food is really good and well-priced. In particular, the Sancho panza, the delectable mojitos and the fantastic queso.

The staff was friendly, attentive, the food was relatively fresh, and tasted really good. if you like hot sauce have the kitchen hook you up with some fresh habanero it will bring the heat!! The margaritas were tasty and worth having a few!! The atmosphere is fun and casual and the menu is creative and reasonably priced! Bathrooms are really dark, very dim lighting! Las Margaritas is your typical Mexican food with a few yummy surprises. I enjoy their margaritas, but agree that they are nothing special. They do have $2 tapas on Tuesday which is great for groups and an excellent deal. The Yucca Potatoes are a must try. As far as service, I had a great waiter on my birthday who was pouring Patron down my throat and shaking my head up, but at about 3:00 last Sunday, our waiter seemed kind of out of it. Our glasses went empty several times even though he only had one other table. It's worth trying though!

I've consistently received poor service here over the time period that the new owner has been in charge. The food is ok. For a place with "margarita" in the name, their standard 'rita is boring. Last night (Cinco de Mayo) was definitely my last. Called earlier in the day and was told I wouldn't need a reservation for 2 people and they only made reservations for 8 or more. Got there at 7 and faced an hour wait - which wouldn't be terrible with enough 'rita. Stood and sat at the bar for over 20 minutes before being helped - although we were acknowledged. Then the guy made a 'rita but forgot to bring my friends beer. He was totally flustered, while he had another person in the bar taking care of the people at the tables.
So we waited our hour and 15 minutes and were seated at a table - in the little side room by the register. If you EVER go here on a busy night NEVER let them seat you there. The few times I've sat there, the staff totally ignores you. So, there we are sitting at the tables, menus in hand, drinks EMPTY. After 30 minutes of no one even taking a drink order and after twice going up to the register and asking to be waited on, we got up and left. This place is a total joke. What kind of Mexican restaurant can't even handle a cinco de Mayo crowd? Oh, and the owner was nowhere to be found.
It seems as if this place just takes its clientele for granted - well you shouldn't. Yes, we like the "clubby", fun and cute atmosphere, but we also like good service and food too.

I have noticed lately the new manager really works hard to keep the customers happy. The food is good - the atmosphere is a party - and the staff is fun (not to mention cute!)

If you're looking for a traditional restaurant experience on a Friday or Saturday night, you will NOT find it here. Las Margaritas is actually a very good restaurant, but on weekend nights, it basically turns into a nightclub, which is fun if you know to expect it or if you can go with the flow. We usually go on Tuesdays for $2 tapas and on Sundays for brunch, and we get a great leisure restaurant experience with charming waiters who chat us up. It's very relaxing. We went on a Friday night recently and it was a fiesta! A real party. The owner sent over shots of tequila. The music is festive and cranked up loud. It's a blast. We had a great time. But if you want a quiet, sit down dinner on a weekend night, this ain't it. That said, I should clarify that there are a lot of dining establishments in Atlanta that are really just bars posing as restaurants, serving mediocre food at high prices. At first glance, you might think this is one of them. It's not. The food is really quite good and the menu is eclectic. We especially love the Puerto Rican cerviche on their tapas menu, which is normally $5, but on Tuesdays they offer it for only $2. That's an incredible deal. We usually order two for each of us! Whenever we've gone there, I've liked this place. It's very gay and we appreciate that; everyone is welcome and we always feel comfortable. So to recap: relaxing during the week and for Sunday brunch; party-house on Friday and Saturday nights. Choose accordingly!

                Pros: eclectic menu, delicious food

                Cons: parking is tight

We went early on a Friday to check it out before going bowling at Midtown with some other friends. Everything seemed ok at first, we were told we would have a short wait (25 min), and it was fairly busy. After awhile they began to 'shut down' the left side of the restaurant and it became apparent that they weren't seating anyone there anymore. We were told the middle was only for 'drinks and appetizers' while the packed porch was the only place we could eat food. There were plenty of open tables in both of these apparently restricted areas. I still have no clue what all of this was about, but I voted for leaving and was overruled by the majority in our party. No place to really stay while waiting for our table either. The bar area was kinda cool lookin, but busy with nowhere to sit.
Long story short, an hour and 15 later we are seated to enjoy sub-par mexican food, watery salsa, and overpriced watery drinks. The service was not good either, and they only had a portion of the restaurant open. Most definely not worth the wait and not really worth the price, even though it was average priced mexican. Parking is limited and kind of a hassle. All 4 of us had a terrible time there. Unless you are just going to the bar (and only along or as a pair) I would most definitely stay away. Just go to Taco Cabana, save yourself some trouble.

Pros: Cool bar. Kinda quaint decor.

I used to go to Nuevo Laredo for Mexican, nut now I go to Las Margaritas. The food is wonderful, the prices are comparable and the service at both are excellent; however, there is not an hour long wait at Las Margaritas! I saw a review on here that said it was overpriced and not good. I have gone many many times and love the food and have never spent $70 on one person. I think it is one of the hidden gems of Cheshire Bridge! Try the tamales and the mixed fajitas!

Ok, I would like to say something to the person who said that this place has no servers... I have been eating here for a few years and I have always had a server. And they always speak very well English. The bus boys do not speak very good english, but hey- they still need a job :)
And the chips and salsa are my favorite part because the chips are always warm and the salsa is full of flavor. I have a couple friends who worked there and the salsa and guac are def freshly made each day. I really love the food and enviornment here. I am sure if you told Oscar (the owner) that you didn't have that great of an experience he would make it up to you. he is VERY generous and very sweet! I have seen him give a lot of things out just to make people feel that much more welcome and happy. You should give it another shot! It really is a great place and I hope this place stays around a long time!! It def beats the hell outa taco bell ;)

Pros: great service, friendly envioronment, indoor/outdoor heated patio, many tables

Cons: the manager is taken! jk hahaha

Finally stopped in, after driving by for many years. Went to the bar first, for a Mojito, which was vey good, made by a nice bartender, Steve. Salsa was out of a can, chips were stale. Cute interior. Took my second Mojito with me to my table, and looked over the menu. Nothing unique or special, since Atlanta has many great Latin restaurants. Ordered a shrimp app, and tableside made guac. Well my server, I can't really call him a waiter, brought me a little round container of guac, that was premade somewhere other than whatever. I told him I wanted the tableside made guac, but he didn't speak English, or didn't understand English. They do not have waiter's here, only food runners. Yuk! I felt I was at a Taco Bell, after spending $70.00 on dinner for one. I ordered the Boliche, which is always made with steak eveywhere I've eaten. I don't know what the meat was, chicken or pork, I could not tell! But anyway I could never get my glass of water refilled, because there are no waiters here, only food runners. Do not waste your time or money here, unless you like Taco Bell quality food!

My experiences at dinner have always been great. The managers are accomodating--allowing 3 separate checks at our table. Service is always attentive, but not smothering. I love that the covered patio is non-smoking. Due to smokers, I usually avoid patios. Great Texas margaritas--I have a very high alcohol tolerance, but I always get a buzz! The 'House Specialities' are HUGE platters of food (I usually split w/my boyfriend). Although, the "salad" is basically shredded iceberg lettuce--substitute another serving of black beans instead. Delicious fish tacos and I really like the shrimp cooked with olive oil & garlic. They even offer mojitos and sangria by the pitcher, but I always stick to the margaritas. My friends have raved about the chicken soup. We get together with our friends regularly for Mexican food, and this place SO much better than Pancho's and other places we go.

I stopped by to order a Speedy Gonzalas to go thinking it would be speedy but boy was I wrong. It took them 40 minutes to get me my food making me late for a meeting at work. Then, when I got back to my office, I realized they had just thrown everything in a to go box cold and the food tasted horrible. What a bad experience! New management needs to do something about this. I can believe I paid money for this unedible slop. Staff was friendly while I waited but experience was bad, bad, bad!

Las Margaritas changed ownership and updated their menu to include my all time favorite Spanish dish paella! I've been back several times. With each visit I become more of a fan.
