Cumberland Diamond Exchange

★★★★☆
Custom JewelryDesign Our In-House Custom Design and Repair Center has the capability to design and create jewelry. Cumberland Diamond Exchange uses computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to facilitate product design and automate some steps in the mold making and model making process. CAD allows us to create a virtual-reality model of a piece of jewelry. Using CAD, we can modify the design, change the stone, or try a different setting and see the changes on a computer screen as the process is finalized. They begin by shaping the metal or by carving wax to make a model for casting. The parts are then assembled by solder. The jeweler may set a diamond or other gem or may engrave a design into the metal.

What a place! Great service and price! I've been looking at wedding bands for some time now. My soon to be wife wanted a band that matched her engagement ring perfectly but since it was custom made, I was having trouble finding the right match. Cumberland Diamond helped me through the process and gave me a great deal.
Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Great place to do business with well trained people. The owners Mark & Rhonda bring a level of integrity that most jewelery businesses miss. The public has no real idea what a legitimate value is in this industry and need to deal with fair high integrity people like CDE.
I wonder about the negative reviews on this site. Why were both written by anomymous? First of all to the first negative review, since when does a Rolex come with a battery.
Great Store. Great People. A Fair Value.

Bought a ring, a used rolex oyster date, a bracelet and changed about 10-15 batteries using CDE over the past 2 years. My wife and I own about 25 watches.

At least they offer you water (though a BOTTLE would be nice instead of a cheap cup - that looks dirty). Hey, CDE, buy a $99 fridge and have the cop stock it up when it is empty - there is an idea. I don't want some dentist's spit-up cup full of water when I am laying down more than the price of my first car....

They oddly still do not know my name when I enter the store even after going there about every 2-3 months and having spent $5,000 in less than 2 years. Their salespeople are all over the place, from young, attractive and helpful to old, ugly-attitude and bitter.

The owner is nice, and the on-duty cop is friendly and seems to add that touch of "you are in an expensive shop" feel to it, but it is small and unless you are buying a loose diamond or a TAG HEUER watch, the store is essentially useless. Their inventory has not changed much at ALL in 2 years.

I would rate some salespeople as decent, most at terrible. I kept having to correct a lady about Rolex specs - she knew nothing and was trying to tell me wrong information. Hilarious. I tapped on the crystal and it made a loud sound, indicating acrylic and not sapphire and she had no idea what the heck I was saying. She says, "All Rolex watches come with Sapphire." I said, "No they don't, not from before the late 1980's.. - which is what they sell. If it is sapphire it will make almost not sound with your fingertip. Harder material.

"Same used car tactics as everywhere else. "If I could get you this price.....would you take it home today?"

How about you get me that price today or 4 weeks from today? They do have 6 month layaway so that is nice. But hands down, better than D Gellar and Sons and it is your only choice besides the Mall in Smyrna.

We have bought several pieces of jewelry there including my engagement and wedding rings. They designed a necklace for me using many loose diamonds that I already had. It is stunning.
They are very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend them for any unusual piece you may want.

I recommend Diamond Exchange if you want quality jewelry for decent prices! They have a wide range of beautiful jewelry and they can fix most anything if it's fixable! The sales people are friendly and professional. They can also do sizing too! A+

I recently had my engagement ring re-shanked at Cumberland 2 weeks after this one of my stones fell out. I was lucky to have found it and had it set back in. Then following the first incident the stone fell out a second time. When I returned to the store, obviously upset one of the male associates blamed me for this and was extremely irritating and rude. If the stone would have been set in correctly the first time at Cumberland then I do not believe it would have fallen out again. This has been a horrible experience as a newly wed I would highly recommend against using this jeweler. The quality of work and the rude associate have left a bad impression on myself and those who I have shared this experience with.

A great place to purchase a diamond. They offer great prices, take trade ins and do on site repairs. On top of great diamonds, they have a wide variety of other great jewelry items. Written appraisals of your valuables also available from a licensed gemologist. Great friendly sales agents to guide you with your purchase without any pressure. Highly recommended!

PROS: Great selection, quality stones.

My fiancee took his time picking out my ring and did an amazing job thanks to the wonderful people at CDE.\r
\r
Christy took care of him while he decided on which setting to place his grandmothers stone in. Not only was she super patient, kind, and fun, she made me feel very welcome when I came to get my ring sized. She not only helped me with sizing my engagement ring, purchased there, she also took the knot out of the necklace I had around my neck while we chatted, even though it was not purchased there. When I came in to pick up my ring after sizing, I was also browsing the necklaces for a new chain, Christy gladly polished my existing chain and pendant without me having to ask. \r

Everyone in the store is very helpful and you know you are getting quality merchandise. I love that they know what you want before you even tell them.\r

I am glad their is a reliable jeweler just around the corner with an amazing selection. I will recommend them to everyone and return for all my jewelry needs! \r

I bought my Fiances engagement ring from CDE and the experience was worth every step of the way. Like most people, I shopped at all the big name stores first and realized they were just bulldozing their way to my bank account and they did not care about what they were offering me. From when I walked into CDE, through the day that I finished my purchase, I had the feeling that I was spending my money in the right place and getting the most diamonds for my bucks. The ring that I bought would have cost me at least $2k more in other stores that I had shopped. This is a family owned local jeweler that does their best to give you value for your purchase. The folks in the shop are very friendly; they offer you water, coffee, etc every time you walk in. (tell me how many times Jared, Kay, etc offered you anything). Christy Echols was very helpful and patient with me. The managers were super friendly especially Prentice. I was very happy with my purchase and so was my Fiance since I popped the question. We will definitely be coming back for our wedding jewelry and more. Try CDW and you will find them worthwhile.

Martha is incredible.....

It has been a total of almost year and a half since our paths crossed. Martha spent almost 4 hours talking to us about diamonds and what we should be looking for. It was amazing. Martha encouraged us to do research before making a final choice. I originally wanted a diamond straight from the ground with no buffing or anything. Martha showed me there was a better way. She showed me a champagne diamond...who knew I liked color? Martha...she suggested something unique that no one else would ever have...Even after all of that...we still wanted to look....Martha encouraged us but, she also told us we would be back.......so.......
We had been to Jared...where I was told that my desire for a simple one stone ring was a just ""promise"" ring. I didnt want little baguettes and other junk around it...just the stone. Simplicity is not
We went to the diamond place tucked in the corner behind Olive Garden on Cobb Parkway...cant even remember the name, it sucked ...it was a meat market and no one even noticed when we came through the door. I hate when Im treated like a number. Dirty looking with horrible seating and lighting and the staff look harried.
We went to Shane's.... nice location...looked ok inside....the person that spoke to us seemed disinterested....yet again that 1 diamond thing was really throwing everybody off....
Back to CDE and Martha. My experience with her and the care and handling of our decision to shop there made me feel like I was THE ONLY person in the world. The attentiveness and even her ability to remember who we were when we walked through the door...priceless, we were at our jewelry home....from there it was effortless... I got my one stone AND it was champagne and as unique as I am AND the price was UNREAL.....so unreal we went back and got our wedding bands.... we were married 11/11/11 and my wedding band made of champagne stones set in a channel ( I bang my hand a lot...I am a piano teacher) has eleven stones....Martha looked hard ...really really really really hard to find small stones that would compliment us and our vision. My husband found a band in a book he liked and Martha got us several selections from that book to look at and compare.
Martha and the staff at CDE made this sooooooooooooooooo easy....seriously effortless. I highly recommend going back. I know because of my husands watch fetish I will be back soon!!!!

Oh and as of this date...Martha has called and checked in on us....just to say hello....!!! I love it!

Mark and Rhonda helped me select the perfect engagement ring for my fiancee. They got to me and us and made recommendations that my lady fell in love with.
I shopped around for quite some time, before stopping by CDE, and now I wish I had started my search with them. They made the process easy and exciting.
Thanks CDE for all the help and getting my marriage off on the right foot! :-)
