Beautiful Gardens

by Christal B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,950

Atlanta Botanical Garden, the most beautiful spot in Atlanta, is 30 acres of outdoor display gardens, the Children's garden & Storza Woods, along with an incredible permanent display of tropical orchids in the Fuqua Orchid Center & Conservatory, home to rare and endangered tropical & desert plants. I have went and I do want to go back. They do have a special childrens garden with Beehive Meadow ia larger-than-life model of three of nature's most important pollinators -- bees, butterflies and birds -- flying over meadow flowers. Your kids will love it mine do and so do I!

PROS: A bit pricey

we love the botanival gardens!

by Jodi P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,635

We were invited to go with a friend as her guest, and my 2 and 3 year old really enjoyed visiting the children's garden. We did get a finger pinched in the swinging doors at the end of the butterfly metamorphasis though, so be careful! It was a beautiful place to spend the day!

We ate lunch at their little outdoor cafe and I found the selection limited, the food overpriced and the food, while decent, was nothing to justify the price. Next time we'll pack a picnic lunch instead.

beautiful site for a wedding

by Alix N. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,428

I went to a wedding here and it was fabulous. Obviously the decor is beautiful, but the service was excellent as well. The ceremony was outside in the gardens and the reception was inside....totally perfect.

Go See Locomotion

by Robin M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,070

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are an oasis in the city of Atlanta. The gardens are beautiful and you can feel comfortable bringing the kids and letting them run and take in the beauty around them. In fact, the new locomotion exhibit is geared right towards my little guys. The trains run thorughout the garden and they were absolutely fascinated by them. Priced reasonably for a family day.

A must do

by Jennifer H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,487

The botancial gardens is wonderful place to explore and learn. The indoor garden has animals, winding paths, water features and exotic plants and trees. Fun for children and great if the weather is not so great. The orchid house is amazing. The children's area is a huge hit with kids so bring your swimsuit!

Great Scenery: Worth the Admission

by Bill P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,634

If you have any interest in plants at all, you will enjoy the Atlanta Botanical Garden. While admission is $12, it is definitely worth the price to see the orchids and various gardens (japanese, rose, ets.). Part of the attraction of this place is its location in Piedmont Park. After spending a couple of hours admiring beautiful flowers, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the Park. Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch or a frisbee!

Go in the Fall

by Nikki G. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 728

Though the Atlanta Botanical Garden is one of teh best places to go in Atlanta anytime - go in the fall - It is not nearly as crowded (parking is also a bit easier although the best option is just to spend a few bucks and take marta.) The leaves are so beautiful in the fall though flowers mostly bloom in spring and summer.
I completely agree with some of the other reviewers who praise the children's garden. Our kids love the dino exhibit best!
When you go, you can also take a stroll through peidmont park .

for families or dates

by Perry S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,884

I first started going to the garden with my girlfriend. This place
is great for dates. The orchids section is probably the most
popular but with reason because it really is a beautiful display
of mother nature. They have an area designed just for kids and I've taken my nieces and nephews and they love it. The location is nice, located right next to Piedmont Park but finding parking is a major pain and took us almost an hour one day. I would definitely recommend taking the MARTA if you can. The price of $12 is worth it and if you go on Tuesdays you can get in for $10.

A Calming, Soothing, Enjoyable Way to Spend a Day

by Debby B. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,492

I like taking my girls here when we're all a little over stressed because I find spending time at Atlanta Botanical Gardens to be very relaxing. The many gardens are full of blooming flowers, tall trees and even vegetables. The Fuqua Conservatory displays plants in tropical and desert arrangements. I love the tropical display with the exquisite orchids. Our absolutely favorite place is the Children's Garden, which is reach by crossing the Flower Bridge. One of the first things you see is the limestone Green Man Fountain, with a face made of kudzu leaves. The Children's Garden has many themed gardens including Live, Laugh and Learn Gardens, a Dinosaur Garden, Creek Indian Garden, Grandma's Garden and a Beehive Meadow among others. If you live in or around Atlanta, DO NOT MISS Atlanta Botanical Garden!

Nice day out

by Shannon F. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,411

This is such a pretty place to visit. I was amazed at the variety of plants they had in this garden, how well kept it was and what a great location it would be for a wedding. While we were there one time they even had it set up for a wedding. There is a kids garden on one side which has statues of a sort of cows, chickens, etc. One of them blows bubbles. It is quite cute. A great place for the kids to have a close up look at plants.

Beautiful Garden

by Leslie F. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 627

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Filled with various gardens and pathways, it's fun to look at all the interesting plants and wander around. It's a nice escape from the city. Parking is free and admission is relatively inexpensive. It's right in the middle of downtown, so the location is extremely convenient. There are lots of good restaurants for lunch on Piedmont Road nearby. It can be extremely hot in the summer, so I recommend the spring for the most flowers or the fall for the pretty leaves.

PROS: beautiful garden
