Had lunch at The Grayson house and was unimpressed. The menu was far too limited and overpriced for the type of food they serve. My $10 chicken sandwich was dry and tasteless. My dining companions had the squash soup which was supposed to be warm - but was cold by the time it was finally served. The service was super slow - even though there was only one other table (with 2 diners) besides our table. We arrived at noon and finished up around 2 o'clock. Lunch shouldn't take 2 hours, even in a busy restaurant. NOW I know why they weren't busy!!

My husband and I had been looking forward to a reason to experience the Grayson House. We went for our anniversary dinner. The rooms are cozy but over all the house could use a face lift. The foyer is cold and uninviting. The food was awful. At 6:30 I was told they were out of crab cakes, we were one of only three parties dinning. They must have had only the one serving because a fellow diner was served them. She commented that one of her cakes had not been turned. Nothing was done about it, I can't remember if she was offered an apology. My second choice was pasta with shrimp and marinara sauce. The pasta wasn't salted, the sauce was overpowering and tart and the shrimp were tough, very tough. I ate them letting the rest go back. My husband's mashed potatoes were cold. There were a few diners who seemed to frequent the Grayson House, I was surprised, we won't go back. The prices reflect exceptional food and fine dinning which the Grayson House lacked on this evening. It was far too expensive for the quality.

The food is special, but It doesn't worth the money. Service is slow. The portion is small. My husband and I spent more than 50 bucks there, but we were still hungry.

This is not your everyday restaurant for dinner with the family. There entrees that are very unusual. I had the ostrich, which definitely did not taste like chicken. It was surprisingly delicious. The service was slow, but very attentive when they did come around. Excellent wine to accompany the dinner.
Very pricey.

This is likely the best restaurant in Grayson. But that isn't saying much. After trying several restaurants in the area, I was excited to learn about Grayson House. Perhaps THIS would be the place to get food at a restaurant that is worth coming back to.

But I was wrong. If you like good food, it would be worth it to drive to Decatur, Atlanta, or Athens for better quality food at lower prices. Vegetables were WAY overdone, flavors were boring. Many ingredients tasted canned or frozen. Went there for lunch and the entree was $23. I don't mind spending that much on tasty food, but Grayson House wasn't tasty enough to justify those prices. I'd give it a better review if their food were priced in the $10-$12 range, because that's what it tastes like!

We have an anniversary that we share the same date with very good friends. We chose to go to the Grayson House for our celebration this year. What a treat to sit in a warm, cozy restaurant with lots of class. You too can have a special day at The Grayson House!

We took my parents out for a special anniversary dinner. It was awesome. Expensive but worth every penny. The kind of place you know a talented chef cooked your dinner. We really enjoyed it!!
