They treat you like your important and your hard earned money is not put to waste. I work 2 jobs and a friend of mine introduced Georgia Military college to me. They said the workload would not be killer, and I would have time to concentrate on the other important things of life. Financial aid office is not as sophisticated this is my only gripe thus far going to this school

PROS: Good staff, and friendly students, they really do care!
CONS: I did not discover this school sooner

GMC is a great college if you work during the day and want to take evening classes. If you choose science classes, most will be on Fort Gordon. The science classes all have additional Lab classes. The only Labs GMC has are on Base, you have no choice but to go through the hassle of having to pull to the side, getting out of the car and going through a full inspection every time. The college does not offer any type of car decal to help with getting through the gate. It seems that the financial aid department at the martinez campus and Milledgeville are never on the same page. The Instructors, for the most part, are excellent. There are 5 quarters a year here and the normal is 4. Because of that, the classes are very fast paced. Financial aid is based on the 4 qtr colleges so you have to stay on top of it. The College is growing faster than they can adapt. Daytime parking is a problem and they don't have enough instructors to teach in the evenings to make all of the needed classes avalable. They either alternate what is offered or prioritize the evening classes. They are much more personable and in touch with their students - more so than any of the other colleges in the area.

PROS: Good community college, great instructors, fast paced
CONS: Financial Aid hassles, day parking, gettin on base

This is a great place to start your college education, especially for the student that may be a little anxious about the work load of college courses, or for anyone that does not want to be on a big campus. The teacher/pupil ratio is great, which gives the student opportunity to interact with the teachers. My son that was homeschooled has made excellent grades at GMC. This is also a great place for someone starting their college education later in life.
