Auburn Animal Hospital is great!
by Kris B.
If you are looking for a vet in the Gwinnett/Barrow County Area, look no further. I would like to highly recommend the Auburn Animal Hospital. They were so kind and sensitive with us when we had to make the unfortunate decision to let our sweet Maggie Mae go. The Vet herself sent us the nicest handwritten card. If you go see them, I am betting you won't be disappointed.

Would never use anyone but Auburn Animal Hospital!!
by K W.
We've used Dr. Rackley @ AAH for the past 14 years. Even when we moved farther away we drove back to his office. He is extremely knowledgeable and very practical about handling and treating domesticated animals. We could use 5 or 6 closer places but won't because our trust lies with AAH's whole staff. Over the years we've seen him with our 3 dogs and 2 cats - even a ferret. We highly recommend him.

Dr. Rackley is a Genius
by Dan C.
Dr. Rackley has seen our pets for the last 10 years. You are not going to find a better Vet. He is fantastic. Dedicated to his profession. Two dogs and a cat that are very old, due to the preventive medicine Dr. Rackley prescribes.

Great People!!!!
by Laurie R.
I took my cat to Auburn Animal Hospital when I moved to Auburn. I then found a stray dog and have been taking him there for 2 years. I just picked up another addition to the family, Elliott, from Gwinnett County Animal Shelter and have Elliott scheduled for a check up next week. My family and I Foster and Adopt animals. I highly recommend using Auburn Animal Shelter!

Extremely Knowledgable Vet Practice
by John M.
This Vet practice especially Dr. Rackley has shown their immense knowledge on a multitude of subjects. I also had suspected Dr. Rackley of being slightly rude, but over the years realized he is just straight to the point. I appreciate this in a Vet and have been using them for over 7yrs. My dogs love them, my cats love them, and if I could bring my fish they would love them as well. I highly recommend them, and am very fortunate to have them as my family veterinarians. Five Stars doesn't give them enough credit! Amazing practice!

These are the best vets ever!!!
by Joyce Y.
Dr. Frick has been my vet for the past 3 1/2 years and I couldn't ask for anyone better. She is kind, thoughtful and always lets you how much she cares for our pets and us. She was right there when one of our pets died last year and she was as upset as we were.
Just found out that Dr. Frick is leaving due to the commute and, to say the least, she'll be missed terribly!
Dr. Rackley and the rest of the staff are also great. Never a problem squeezing in an appointment and helping as much as possible.
They all truly love animals.

doglover
by Mike P.
As for the last review post thats CRAZY! I have never had a problem with having anything explained to me. why would you get package instructions if you dont buy a whole pack anyway. You should know from your previous vet how to apply it. Also, why would you give your dog a flea bath if your gonna use flea prevention anyway. Auburn Animal Hospital is a great place they are very friendly, affordable, helpful everything you could want in a vet. They have 2 vets Dr. Fricks is by best vet I have ever used, I have never used the other one. DD is very friendly and Shannon is the best nurse ever. I would recommend them to ANYONE!!! They dont need people like that anyway.

R. & S. Parker
by Robin P.
We don't use Auburn Animal Hospital, but needed to pick up a quick dose of Front Line for our dogs, single dose. At the time of purchase we were given directions printed off a PC not the package instructions. After giving our dogs a flea bath and dried we applied the Front Line as directed. This was on a Sunday as of Wednesday our dogs are still miserable. After contacting our regular vet we were told that we should have waited 24 hours before applying after bathing. I contacted the Auburn Vet and explained to them what took place only to be given an 800# for Merial as they do not back up their "Money Back Guarantee" we have to call the product maker for that. All I can say is if we were ever to use them on a regular basis we never will now, and I will be sharing this with my neighbors and friends who live in both Auburn & Winder.

I've been using this vet for several years now. I've had an opportunity to use other vets, but I have been always declined. I am very impressed with Dr. Rackley and his staff. They are all courteous, friendly and very professional. Every time.

No other Vet for our family/pets
by Tracey S.
I could never have enough room to list all the support and care we have received for almost 12 years from Dr Rackley and his staff. They have always gone above and beyond our expectations. We have recently been maintaining the failing health of our Lab/Chow mix that is coming up on 12 years old. Dr. Rackely has been his doctor since he was a 6 week puppy. Dr. Rackely has given more than just Vet care since the first day. He gave invaluable care and training advice. We have moved several times to further parts of Atlanta that are not convenient to Auburn. But we drive the 1&1/2 hour drive back to Auburn Animal Clinic for the "non -matched" top rated care that is received there. We have now, a new puppy that is starting his long happy live with Dr. Rackley has his Vet. We do and would recommend Auburn Animal Clinic and the staff to anyone that truly wants the best care for their animal/family member.

IFinally Found Another Good Vet
by denise p.
I was referred to Dr Rackley from a friend of mine that gave me a baby Rough Collie. She was the runt of the litter and close to death. Dr Rackley helped me bring her up to standards. Or at least my standards. She was a small collie, unlike her brothers and sisters. She was beautiful and the most loving dog we ever had. Unfortunately we had to put her to sleep after a kidney failure. Dr Rackley helped us with this and was very kind with his words and actions. Him and his staff called after a few days and spoke with me about my decision. Now, I have precious's sister, hopefully to be having some new puppies. Dr Rackley will be there again to help out. Again, Dr Rackley is a very good Vet and person. He is very soft spoken and kind in every way.

Auburn Animal Hospital/Dr. Rackley
by Pamela J.
After reading one of the reviews on Dr. Rackley, I feel I have to respond. Dr. Rackley has always been professional, never rude or short when I have had my beloved dogs in for a visit, be it routine or illness. He even diagnosed one of my Poms with a hernia, when two other vets had treated her for a false pregnancy. He performed the surgery and Savannah is doing great. When we lost one of Poms, Shata, he was very caring and concerned, knowing how upset we were. There was nothing he could have done to prevent her death, apparently there was a very thin lining in her heart and she died, but he listened when I called him to see if he thought there was anything I could have done to prevent this, and after he explained what he thought had occurred, I knew he was right. I will always have the highest regards for Dr. Rackly and his staff. I am very particular about my Poms and trust him without question when it comes to their health and well being.

Superb Small Animal Veterinary Hospital
by Kay R.
I stumbled upon this review website and felt the need to post my experience with Auburn Animal Hospital & Dr. Rackley. I feel the need to defend Dr. Rackley. He's wonderful... not once been rude w/ me.
I have been using Dr. Rackley for the past 10 years. 2 cats, 1 dog. I have nothing but accolades for him & his staff. Everyone in that building absolutely adores animals and treats them as if they were their own. In my opinion, I believe Dr. Rackely is an extremely knowledgable and professional doctor!
Just last night we had to make the horrible decision of putting our family dog to sleep and Dr. Rackely was very sympathetic and showed us nothing but compassion. He's not a heartless rude doctor.
I have used their boarding services as well & they are great & very reasonable.
I've never shopped vet prices and I've never been floored by my bill when I pay, so I don't guess they're expensive. They may be a little more or a little less than other docs. I choose my doctors by how they treat me/my animals, not by how much they charge.
Everyone in my family who has animals uses Dr. Rackely & they've all had the same experience with Auburn Animal Hospital.
Thanks to Dr. Rackley & Staff for continuing to provide the best medical treatments for my animals!! I would gladly recommend them to anyone!

Auburn Animal: Great Service and Professionalism

I like Auburn Animal because the staff is caring and they go out of their way to help me. Dr. Rackely and his other associates are professionals and are very sympathetic to their patients and owners. Their prices are very reasonable to their clients and they offer alternative treatment suggestions than those that may cost hundreds of dollars. I have had two animals within the past year with seriously illnesses, one which had to be put to sleep suddenly. Dr. Rackley and his staff were very kind to our family and our sudden loss to the degree of accommodating our plans to put down our cat, putting him carefully in a "coffin" of sorts that I had brought in and even showing great sympathy at our loss. This is in marked contrast to the other opinion that is on this site, and I would like to point that out.
Dr. Rackely is very professional in his diagnosis of situations and offers solutions based on his opinions and experience. Like many regular doctors that we (humans) go to, he does try to maintain a professional attitutde which the other viewer may have construed as being "uncaring". But since I have been at this vet for numerous years now, I realize that he is trying to be openminded and allow me as the owner of the animal to make a decision based on the facts of the situation and not his emotional response to the situation.
I've taken four cats and a dog to Auburn Animal and have been pleased each time with their caring and services. They have performed operations on several of my pets, and have explained everything concerning their conditions with great clarity.
The staff has never pushed treatments on me and I have been more than satisfied with the service I have received. I also am VERY particular with my vets and have fired many, and this is the best one that I have found in the Gwinnett/Barrow area.
CeCe Sweet
PROS: Caring Staff, Clear Treatment Options, Prices are Great
CONS: If you're not in Auburn, it's out of the way

I wasn't too impressed with this practice. I'm very particular about the veterinarians I choose. Dr. Rackley is a good vet, but he doesn't come across as very friendly. He can be rude. The office staff is very courteous and helpful. It is very easy to get an appointment. There prices are very good.
