Pros: this is new test

Cons: this restaurant is closed

.

Does anyone know if and when the restaurant will reopen? The sign on the window said "Closed for renovations, reopening soon," but it has been closed for months and months. How about an update?

Pros: Good food

Cons: Buffet price keeps rising

.

Until finding Minerva, I was terribly disappointed with the Indian food I found throughout Atlanta. Minerva was different: consistently delicious dishes , varied menu -- and large portions! A couple of weeks ago, we were dismayed to find a sign on the restaurant "closed for renovation." I sure hope they're re-opening!
Anyone know what's happening????

Pros: Wonderful food at a fair price. Even enjoy the Bollywood videos which always run.

Cons: A bit gloomy inside -- but the food outweighs the atmosphere

As said by the other customer..about credit card machine..
i do remember the manager ..Sanjeev.. this guy collects cash
from customers and says credit card machine is not working..
Does minerva's credit card machine fail to work on every weekends ...lol
And if we say we dont have cash he says to get it from publix... this is so rude
And guys dont believe them if they say credit card machine is not working..
The only good thing about minerva is Food taste it is too good....

After reading some good reviews I went to Minerva with high hopes. I'm an Indian and have lived in different cities in US(& in India) and tasted different Indian cuisines. Usually I'm apprehensive about Indian food wherever I go. Same menu everywhere !! And surprisingly they all try to keep the taste almost identical. I don't know how they manage it? Anyway, back to Minerva. The decor was consistent with other Indian restaurants in the United States, i.e. dimly lit(in a bad way), gloomy, playing the same bollywood tunes. But this one had a TV and a projection screen on which they play bollywood videos/channels on the weekend which is fine. I've tried a lunch buffet and a dinner. Though the items in the buffet were limited the taste was decent. As usual the waiters/servers were hovering around you asking every 2 mins whether you needed anything else. But they never bother to take your plate once your done with it. It keeps on piling. At last when I requested they cleared the table grudgingly(Palace is better in this situation). So me and my wife finished our lunch and asked for the check. After waiting a while we went to the front desk to pay the bill. I gave him my card and promptly was the reply - "Sir the machine is not working". So my wife paid the bill in cash. But wait a minute while we were at the door an American customer paid his bill with his card !!! Discrimination!!! The dinner experience was almost similar. May be the American customers get a fair deal. And the Indians seem to ignore it. The washroom was also in-sync with other Indian restaurants in the US. The cheapest available hand soap (usually in Pink) and the cheapest available paper towels(usually brown). Overall it was an ordinary experience. May be the Americans get a better service. But I'm not going to that place again.

This restaurant has huge variety of food from South indian,North Indian to chineese,All the dishes are up to the mark and there are about 50 plus varieties.Has huge space aroung 10,000 square foot.Probably the biggest i have seen in USA for an Indian restauarant.Definitely lives up to the hype of Minerva chain of restaurants. The only negative is that you have to sleep after your food as u will be filling ur stomach to the root.Bottom line excellent food.

Anybody who loves Indian good should not even think of jumping to this place to spoil mood, time, money and taste. Highly unflavoured food, unorganised and pathetic service. Lot of people to take order but none will return with the thing you ordered. You have to remind them multiple times to get order served, and once served they forget to ask again, and even if they ask... they won't bring that until and unless you literally cry for it. Worst experience of meal in any Indian restaurants.

HIGHLY UNSATISFIED WITH QUALITY AND SERVICE. PAID IN REVOLT !!!

Buffet is awesome. So many selections. Can be traditionally HOT and spicy so those Americans looking for bland Americanized food might not appreciate. Who cares. Look at the crowd, plenty of Indians which means what? It's good that's what.Excellent quality, from South to North Indian and all done well. The dinner service shines and the portions and thalis large, good price as well. Good, attentive service as well. The floor manager has always been exceptional. Great place to bring hyper kids apparently, so not recommended for a romantic outing.

Great food, average ambience, awesome lunch buffet! I highly recommend this place to anybody who loves Indian food. Usually lunch buffet consists of atleast 30 items. On my last visit some of the items were as follows: non-veg - chicken biryani, mutton biryani, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, mutton korma, tandoori chicken, etc. veg - naan, roti, idli & sambhar, dosa & chutney, mutter paneer, aloo gobi, aloo manchurian, etc. Wow the list goes on and on. It does get crowded and loud so may not be ideal for a romantic lunch date, however if your date is a good food lover then go ahead and knock yourselves out.

Minerva Indian restaurant is really one of the finest and authentic restaurant i have visited.
Huge space, lot of variety more than 50 items at a time and still maintaining the taste.

Staff is friendly and place is nice. Food quality is excellent, good choice about veg, non-veg and Indian Chinese.

Watch your weight after you visit here. This is also good place to have parties, get-together. They got 3 big halls sufficient to host party of 50-100 people and reasonable rate.
if you want to visit smaller version of Minerva, when you do not want to put hand on 50 items but little less with same quality then visit Dosa house or Shri Krishna vilas present in same area.

Although I think there is still much to be improved regarding the caliber of Indian restaurants in Atlanta, Minerva does have some of the best tasting non-vegetarian and vegetarian food I've had here so far. I especially appreciated the diversity of food they offered; it wasn't just the standard chicken tikka and muttar paneer. It also was flavorful food without being too spicy. I agree that the service could be improved there, but go for a Sunday brunch--it was worth it.

What kinda of Indian restaurant is this without samosas. Most of the items in the menu are not available like spring rolls, cutmirchi, chinese items... Why to keep in the menu when they dont serve. It is so ambarrasing when we come with American friends. They are very fond of samosas. Is there any one to take care of this!!

I went for a dinner last night with my hubby and had horrible experience. The service was pathetic. We had to call the waiter number of times to take the order...donno whether they were sleeping or what.

It was not just with us,everywhere in the restaurant people were either waiting endlessly for there food or they were waiting for waiter to come and take the order.

In addition to that they did not get what we ordered.I even heard waiters saying that there is no one in the kitchen that's why the orders which other customers had places was getting delayed.

Although, the restaurant is open till 11.00 or so but yesterday they started refusing new customers@ 9.30 PM. Isnt funny and shocking??

I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. In case, you happen to land up there sometime,do confirm your order twice with the waiter...U never know u may have ordered for 2 soups and they get only one.Or u may have ordered for malai kofta and they get you bhindi masala.

All the best

This Minerva is a sister to the Minerva in Northern Virginia (DC suburbs). You'll get a wide variety of dishes with excellent preparation. Try the chicken biryani if yoo like meat, and the dosais and kormas if you're a veggie lover.
