The veterinary staff is not very educated on animal care. I have had the staff lose my dog's urine sample, which was extremely hard to retrieve. I have had my dog also misdiagnosed twice, and put on many antibiotics that were not needed. The last straw was when I dropped off my dog for an ultrasound and his vaccines. Within five minutes of picking him up from the vet and reaching my home, I had my dog go into anaphylaxic shock. Furthermore, I made it on time back to the vet in order for him to receive a benadryl shot; the vet stated to leave him @ the clinic for three hours, and he would receive an additional shot of prednisone to aide with his neck swelling. As I returned to pick him up, he looked worse, and they let me take him home that way; it turns out that the vet forgot to give him his prednisone. Finally, I ended up having to take him else where @ 3 a.m. for him to get competent veterinary care. If you love your dog or cat, please seek another vet clinic. I invested lots of money and time on Eastside, and they have let me down and almost killed my dog by their negligence.

Brought in my dog for shaking and crying. Had no idea what was wrong. With x-rays, the doctor was sure she had a bone stuck in her stomach. He urged us to do surgery for $1500. We reluctantly agreed due to the dog's condition. After cutting her open and applying 15 staples, the doctor told us he was wrong. However management refused to reduce the amount and charged us the full amount. Terrible experience, awful management.....

A brought in a very sick feral kitten (4 and a half months old) when I noticed blood on her face. Doc said it was a respiratory infection, gave her fluids, prescribed an antibiotic, and told us to keep her confined indoors for two weeks for recovery. So we did. When I went to check on her the next morning, she was not alive. Now, I understand that these things happen, but what really upsets me is that when I called to inform them of what had happened, the receptionist stated that she would "let the doctor know." No one ever called me. Not to apologize for what had happened, ask what had occurred, offer condolences -- nothing. I do not feel that she was properly cared for, and I am profoundly hurt that no one contacted us to follow-up.

My experience with Eastside has been very good. They have given my dog excellent care, and it is obvious that the doctors and staff really care about animals. This was especially obvious to me when I had to take my son's dog in one week-end while I was pet sitting. She had a blockage, and they had to perform surgery. The dog is a loving and affectionate pit bull, but they didn't know that when we took her to them for treatment. They were wonderful with her. The vet called me before and after the surgery. They were courteous and helpful when we called to inquire about her, and when my son returned the day after the surgery, and they allowed him to visit her. Since they are also an emergency clinic, I know they can care for our pets any time we need them. I would recommend Eastside without hesitation.

My stedaughter went to the clinic with a very sick cat that had been rescued from a shelter just days before. The cat passed away within 3 min of arrival NOT as a result of the hospitals care. They said they had to quote ; decapitate the cat to do a rabies check and that she would not be able to take it home to bury .
She was sent home with a bill for 285.00. This is truth not exaduration. The office visit is only 95.00 .I paid less to have a horse youthinized at UGA
I have vast knowledge of ill animals with need of special care and i think she was ripped off in a very unprofesional way.

The vet even calls herself sometimes when you call in with a question/concern about your pet. I have a dog and they are very honest with me about what she needs in the way of tests, medicines, and vaccinations. They seem to have the needs of my dog in mind more than just desiring to make money. One thing that was really special about this vet is that they take pictures of each pet that comes to see them so that they can recognize them AND they tend to give a bandana to dogs when they come in that reflect the season (mine got a halloween bandana).
