My husband and I dined on a Tuesday night. We had better service than expected after finding the host was also our server. We felt the signature drinks were okay, but not the best we have tasted. We both enjoyed our appetizer; fig salad

The first time I had dinner at Mosaic Restaurant, I thought I had discovered a cool intimate boutique restaurant with an amazing outdoor patio. Strangely, there were very few dinner guest seated. I shrugged it off as an ??OFF NIGHT?. But oddly, how can every visit be an ??OFF NIGHT???? Being in the service industry for 30 years, I thought the service at the time was adequate but the Kobe Beef Sliders were amazing! Last evening, I had a business meeting with some clients and thought we were guaranteed to find some quiet space in a prime Buckhead location. Yes, again an ??OFF NIGHT?! To my surprise, from beginning to end, it turned out to be the most dreadful dining experience I??ve EVER endured in my many years of dining out. I dine out frequently and consider myself a concierge of restaurant knowledge, keeping up with all the latest and greatest, but still loyal to the smaller venue??s. The only thing CONSISTANT about the service was the perpetual rudeness that seemed to spill over into the lack of placement for both food AND drink to each dining patron. NOT ONCE OR TWICE, EVERY TIME! We literally sat in the dark until we asked the waiter to light a table candle. I tried very hard to ignore not only the lack of service but his deliberate discourteous display of behavior. While trying not to set the tone for the evening, we were continuously stunned with each interaction. While eating, you heard the irritable, sarcastic whining of his disgruntlement, ??Another?Coupon? With that said, we ate there because I, too, had a $25 off coupon. Afterward, I fully regret suggesting the place. Jody Dean (owner) wake up! Put the pad lock on the door and give the place back to the bank. You??ve obviously used very poor judgement in your management skills. I??d like to see your restaurant succeed but as is... ??IT SUCKS BIG TIME?! I will not ever eat there again. Foodies and potential customers ??BEWARE? when the place looks empty. It IS for a reason!!! Don??t set yourself up for disappointment as I have done.

Brunch is good here. But don't try the green tomato bloody mary - not so good! Great atmosphere in buckhead and you get delta skymiles if you dine here (if you are signed up for skymiles dining).

Overall a great experience, we'll be back!!

Pros: Food, staff, environment

Cons: Took a bit longer than usual to get food

.

The menu is short, one page. I really didn't find anything I liked on the main course list. However, I found 2 appetizers, and my wife found one and they were large enough for the 3 of us to make a meal out of.

Pros: Good food, service and atmosphere

Went there on a Thursday night with girlfriends. There was a speed dating event there and the place was understaffed. We ordered some pinot grigio- they didn't have any. I ordered Ketel One and tonic-they didn't have that. We ordered calamari and hummus off the appetizer menu...sure enough they didn't have calamari. We got something else instead and 2 portions were brought when we only ordered one. Hummus was absolutely atrocious! Like chick peas mashed straight out of the can, no seasoning. And on top of that Ranch dressing that they dared calling "cucumber sauce"- Gross!! We were asked if we wanted additional pita bread. We agreed, but it didn't come for a long time. We got it with our check. The bartender girl was new but she did the best she could with the situation and was actually pleasant. She was bartending and waiting tables and no one else helped her. All 3 of us were given $10 certificates off our next visit, which we'll never use. This is absolutely the worst restaurant I've ever been to. It was so bad, i went to Crystal's and got a couple of chicks just to get that Hummus taste out of my mouth. If you want Mediterranean in that neighborhood, go to Basil's, it's just around the corner.

SO CUTE!! I was actually looking for another place on the same street and it wasn't there and I found this place. All though it wasn't very busy it made for a very plesant Sunday brunch for my friends and I! We sat outside where the owner and it looked to be his wife were taking care of the landscape. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing you decide but, it did not bother us at all. Actually you could tell they put alot of time and take alot of pride in this place! The owner was actually the one who sereved us our food and checked on us as well. Our server was good too! The french toast and shrimp and grits were great! I liked the shrimp and grits here better than Bricktops! Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it for sure especially for Sunday mamosas. I can't wait to go back when the leaves start to change colors!!

What a find off the beaten path! My husband and I were staying at a 4 star hotel downtown and mentioned to our driver we had read a nice review on Mosaics. The driver commented he had met the new owner and also recommended the restaurant. Quite a cozy candlelit atmosphere! The entire staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine pairing. We met chef Darryl because we so enjoyed the night's appetizer - spicy tuna sushi and the main courses of lobster ravioli and his trout dish. It was so nice to have a personal touch and service with a smile! Definitely returning for the Sunday Brunch everyone is talking about.

I've had two special occasion, one dinner and one brunch here and both turned out very nicely. The meal and wine were really good, and our servers were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Mosaic is a nice spot for a low key date or family dinner.

Just went to Mosaic for the first time last night with my wife and we had a fantastic evening. First of all the place is very charming as it very much is like walking into someone's house for a meal. We were seated very promptly and were treated great. We started with the lobster bisque and the kobe beef sliders with brie cheese. The soup was pretty tasty but the sliders were amazing! I highly recommend them. My wife had the salmon with brussel sprouts and I had the Shrimp Scampi with linguine. While the salmon was very good I have never had better tasting sprouts. It actually made the meal. My shrimp scampi was a bit vinegary for me but still quite good. I was impressed with the number of shrimp in my meal. The service was outstanding and very personable. We will definitely be back.

The food was decent but overshadowed by the extremely horrible service. A large birthday brunch group was told that there was no salad for brunch. So, we ordered and one of the items was the Mosaic "Omelette". The food took a long time to come out and it ended up being cold. The last person served was given the "Mosaic "salad", thought they didn't have salads. When told that the order was wrong, the waiter looked at a few others in our group that had the Mosaic Omelette and said that someone must have taken the wrong dish. And he said this out loud. We asked for the manager and about 10 minutes later, the sous chef came out, heard the complaint, and then he asked " What do you want me to do about it?" How about an apology for starters. Obviously, there was no manager. The Kitchen doesn't manage the back AND the front in any restaurant, EVER. It was a pity, because the omelette was pretty good when it's hot. It may be a decent place to go with a small group. But what could have been a great birthday brunch turned out to be the worst dining experience anyone has ever had. My advice is to avoid it and spend your hard earned money somewhere they appreciate their customers. Good food and good SERVICE is not a hard thing to find in Atlanta, but extremely hard to find in Mosaic.

If I could give it no stars I would.

My husband and I love Mosaic! This is the restaurant we go to when we're in the mood for an intimate, relaxing date night. We have always had wonderful service! The waiters always give excellent suggestions on food. The drinks are always great...I love the pear martini they have! They also have a great espresso martini - the perfect after dinner drink! I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you are a couple, going out as a family, or going out with coworkers. Also - Thursday's are great - they have live music playing outside!

FLORIDA STYLE FINE DINING IN ATLANTA....NO PRETENSE, JUST GREAT FOOD.
GREAT WINE SUGGESTIONS, AND DAILY SPECIALS ARE EXCELLENT.
VISITED SEVERAL TIMES. FANTASTIC FILET & TUNA & SCALLOPS.
INTIMATE SETTING, BANANA CREME DESSERT UNBELIEVABLE W/ ICECREAM.
SERVICE IS NOT PERFECT, BUT ALMOST ADDS LIFE TO IT: FEELS LIKE A REAL FAMILY DINNER.

I was really disappointed with this restaurant after reading the reviews and seeing it on the list for best outdoor dining. The host was very dismissive as we walked in and the waitstaff continued the trend. We went for Sunday brunch. Although there were many unoccupied tables, the service was very inattentive and sloppy. We had to ask several times for bread and straws. The waitress seemed annoyed by our requests for service -- as if we were inconveniencing her by being there. The food was decent, but not memorable. I definitely wont' be going back.

My boyfriend and I decided to try out this place for dinner based on the reviews, and we were extremely disappointed for a number of reasons. For the price ranges, the food was just mediocre along with really small portions. We felt like we had only eaten a snack. The hostess was really rude seating us, and our waitress was really unattentive, not asking at all if we needed anything at all (she even forgot to give us napkins). Even though our waitress apologized, we expected way better with the service and food if someone is to pay $20 -- $30 an entree. We've tried restaurants with way better food with excellent service at cheaper prices. I highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. You're mainly paying for the atmosphere and food aesthetics.

I love this place more and more each time. It's in a great location in the Buckhead area, but it feels so much more secluded and doesn't have all the Buckhead hype. The lamb is incredible, the service is so friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. I've gone here for special occasions and regular nights out and this place has fit the bill each time. Dinner is always top notch and brunch is great, too. The first time I went was for the Thursday night specials - $5 martinis and appetizers on the patio with live music. It's great to sample some of the dishes and certainly got me hooked. I always look forward to my next visit!

We made our reservations through opentable and indicated we were coming to celebrate an anniversary. The hostess greeted us with a happy anniversary wish, and seated us at a secluded table, as we had requested. Our waiter, Jonathan, was very nice - not too pushy and not too quiet. We decided to skip appetizers and we ordered a couple of glasses of wine, the filet mignon and the fish special. Several minutes later, our waiter surprised us with 2 fried green tomato appetizers as a special anniversary treat on the house. Next came the yummy bread with honey/herb butter. Our entrees were quite good (by this time we were pretty full). We decided to have dessert, and Jonathan brought out a large plate with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate sauce for us. We would definitely go back for a special occasion. This is a restaurant that has the quality (and price) of food of a typical nice restaurant, without the stuffy, be-on-your-best-behavior feeling that some nice restaurants exude. Our anniversary was acknowledged by each person that we came into contact with - a nice change from some other special occasions we have celebrated. We will definitely be back!

I had the wonderful opportunity to dine with a special friend at this place and it fit the occasion perfectly. We had the opportunity to sit outside and the weather and company around us were outstanding. From where we sat, we had the opportunity to hear the music but not be overwhelmed by the sound. We also got to see the artist's expression and clearly hear his songs as well as his one liners. On this particular night the Chef/Owners wife was called in to help with the service and it was our good fortune that she was. She waited on us and gave us the history behind the place and recommend some dishes and pairings that were right on the mark. We enjoyed the overall experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a spot to have a wonderful meal and listen to some great music.

I wasn't impressed when Mosaic first opened, but it has since changed ownership and now it's great! The atmosphere, both inside and outside, is great for a date or dinner with friends, and service is perfect (Jonathon is fantastic!). The wines by the glass are a little pricey (but that, unfortunately, seems to be the trend in Atlanta), but they have a nice selection. It's not a "see and be 'scene'" kind of place -- both times I've been there it's been pretty dead--but hopefully it will be soon enough. Check it out!

What a great place to sit outside on a beautiful spring evening...the food was excellent, the wine was outstanding. The only drawback was the service...it was not terrible, but also not very attentive. We found ourselves waiting too long for drinks, too long for the check, and too long for the return of my credit card. If we didn't have an event after dinner however, we probably wouldn't even have noticed. Highly recommended.

I have been a big fan of this restaurant for several months now, and was excited to hear that they are now serving brunch. A friend and I went in last week and absolutely loved it! I had the French Toast and she had the Crab Cake Benedict. It was simply incredible. Fantastic flavors!!! The chef is amazing and the service was wonderful as always, too. Be sure to go in after 12:30 to tag on a brunch cocktail with your meal. Loved the Sangria and unique Mint Julep Martini. The only bad thing is deciding to go in for dinner or brunch next!

My mom and I went to mosaic this past weekend and had a great experience there. The waiter was very attentive and enthusiastic. The ambience was warm and inviting. Once the food starting arriving it got even better. Their salads are delicious! I had the hearts of palm salad with a vinegarette dressing that was excellent. My mom had the Carpresse salad and it was wonderful also. Then the entrees were superb! I highly recommend the scallops and the Salmon! I want to go back to try the other menu items. It all looked great. I will definitely go back again and again. We need more restaurants like this in Atlanta...warm and inviting and great food to top it off.

Food is fabulous. The mosaic salad is so good but it's huge. I would recommend splitting it unless you are just having it as your meal. I also had the tilapia which was delicious, the curry is very mild. Also tried the calamari sallid which is decadent, so good. The beef carpaccio is very good as well. Only minor drawback is that the wines are a little too pricey for that type of restaurant. Would be better if they could please put some less expensive whites on the menu for the summer.

You have to appreciate this restaurant if only because it's a laid-back alternative to the all too frilly Buckhead dining experience. While the name may be a little more 90s than I'd prefer, Mosaic is what I would consider the one hidden gem in the Buckhead dining circuit. We started off the meal with mussels and the salmon bruschetta. The mussels were excellent and the salmon buschetta, which wasn't my pick for a starter, was a surprising delight. The menu had plenty of selections for our crowd of 4, and we all settled on some variation of seafood, ranging from Halibut and Red Snapper to the Scallops. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here and applaud the courtesy and friendliness of the dining staff and manager.

A true boutique restaurant experience. Chef Darrell Rice is putting out food that will dazzle at this charming Buckhead restaurant. I believe he is somewhat new on the Atlanta scene but I would recommend you go now while you still can get a seat without a long wait. I've been back several times since my initial visit and feel like I've discovered gold. I have never been let down. You will be tempted to fill up on appetizers but don't. Save room for one of the many entree choices. The Lamb is done to perfection and I would definately recommend any of the fish selections as well. There is a strong emphasis on fresh high quality ingredients here and you will notice the difference. The whole staff is warm and inviting and seem very knowledgeable about food and wine.

If you are looking for a food experience beyond description, look no further! I went on a weekday night and sat under the stars...it was a great place for conversation and ambiance.

We started with the Eggplant & Zucchini Confit with Shrimp Escabeche...fabulous...we should have ordered two! The mushroom soup was phenomenal and the main entrees did not disappoint! Mosaic is a great place for a group or just an intimate dinner for two.
