only rated this place one star because I had to choose something. THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE IS HORRIBLE!!! If you prefer good quality care for your child and what's best for your hard earned money DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. The customer service is very poor. After waiting over 2 hours I was never seen by anyone and requested a refund for my copayment. Poor staff, the WORST customer service!!! Even after i let the nurses know my child and I had been waiting forever and left, I still hadn't heard from anyone personally. JUST HORRIBLE AND SUCH A WASTE OF MY TIME!!! I would have appreciated a call from the doctor on duty giving us a call to properly apologize. I will NEVER visit this place again. I visited the CLARKSTON location, but based on of the reviews listed here, I see it doesn't matter.

I know I'd want somone to give feedback to me so here I am doing the same for someone who cares to hear it. This office and staff has been unbelievable! In my experience they are unprofessional. I've had doctors take personal phone calls while in the room with patients and sorting out childcare issues and the like. The wait is already astronomical and we have to wait for a personal phone call too. They've lost lab work and the final straw is that I'd received a call giving test results for a child that isn't mine! carelessness and I suppose exhaustion. Just know at the end of the day, they are people too and so mistakes does happen but too many can be deadly-

I tried working with the Cobb office after Dr. Hardin moved because a practitioner, Ms. Lebecki was wonderful to work with. However, Ms. Lebecki also left and my child had to see Ms. Wiltshire ?? the worse practitioner ever. She complains about everything and is always sick so instead of listening to you she is telling you about her aches and pains.

The triage coordinator doesn??t call back so don??t waste your time leaving a message. I left a message about my sick child and no one called me back so I ended up going to the emergency room.

The office staff is unprofessional and slow? Just don??t go. I cannot think of anything good to say about this place. Take your child to a place where the staff cares about them enough to follow-up and listen to your concerns. Take sometime and do research to find you next pediatrician.

I would give them a minus rating if I could but since one star is the lowest I can go that is what I have to rate them!

I am the parent of a child with ADHD and have taken my child to Decatur Pediatric since 2008. He started off seeing Dr. Willingham, moved to Dr. Ferguson, and is now seeing Dr. Doster. My son saw Dr. Doster last month and I was astounded by her overall lack of patient interaction skills. She drilled my child (12 years old) on his ADHD symptoms, his grades, and weight- causing him to become very uneasy (to the point that his blood pressure went up during the visit and had to be taken again before we could leave). When I first started taking my son to Decatur Pediatric Group (South Cobb Location), the office staff was friendly, polite, and the wait times were minimal. However, with the growth and expansion of the office, the overall quality of service has been compromised greatly. My son has seen Dr. Ferguson exclusively for the past five year or so and she appeared to have developed a good rapport with him. I even stayed with the group after moving more than 40 minutes away. However, the last several years, there has been a marked decrease in overall service and attention to detail provided by the doctors and the staff.

Included on my laundry list of items are extensive wait times, difficulties in having prescriptions filled, and missed opportunities in following the proper protocol as it relates to the close monitoring of patients taking controlled substances. I live in Douglasville, used to work in the Dunwoody area, and would have to drive to the Smyrna Office during my lunch breaks to pick up prescription refills on a monthly basis due to the type of medication my son takes. Several times I have called to request prescription refills, be informed that the refill is ready, drive to the office to pick it up, and be informed that the script was not available because the Dr. did not sign it. This would result in me having to make additional trips (with an already hectic schedule) to pick up prescriptions from the office location. Most recently, I requested copies of my son??s medical records in preparation for transfer to another provider and was astounded by the number of errors I found in his records. Make sure you request copies of your child??s medical records if accuracy is important to you because I found multiple errors over the course of care he has received over the years. My son was diagnosed with ADHD years ago and the Dr. Office never followed- up with the diagnosing provider for a copy of the evaluation and never requested copies of a referral they provided for speech therapy. Without the proper documentation on file, the Dr. was merely treating my child based upon parent feedback and not medical documentation received from the appropriate professional. Secondly, I scheduled an appointment, check my child out of school early for the appointment, drive the 40 minutes to the Dr. Office only to be told that they made a scheduling mistake and that I had to reschedule the appointment for another day. Needless to say, this left a very sour taste in my mount. Never once was an apology offered for the mistake them made. After insisting that my child be seen that day, we had a very negative experience with Dr. Doster (referenced above). Last but certainly not least, I have submitted several requests for corrections to be made to his medical records and continue to get the run around with having them completed. I will be so happy once I am able to transfer my child to another practice and hopefully have a better overall experience, as it relates to his treatment and care.

What a bad experience we had the last time we took our daughter, who is 6 years old, to this office. My daughter was experiencing a chest pain. We came to an appointment where we had to wait the first call and then in the room after the nurse came we had to wait too much for the dr. When she finally came, she checked my daughter and told us that she would give us a prescription for some tests. The real problem started when we went to the imaging center (Coob) where we found out that the unreadable prescription was dated 7 months after and that my daughter's name was misspelled and it was missing her last name. Also there was no any CPT code and the signature didn't match with the dr's name who appeared on the prescription. So of course, in the imaging center they were refusing to do the X-ray and EKG to my daughter for obvious reasons. Fortunately, we were lucky and by phone somebody from the Imaging center helped us to authorize the test. It is unbelievable how this dr. can sign and send patients without responsibility, ethics and profesionalism. It was a wasting of time! And now we just wonder who (dr) is going to let us know about my daughter's tests results.

I Loved, Loved, Loved Dr. Willingham BUT the wait was unbearable. I took my daughter there for 2 years and my son after I had him. We had even moved 40 minutes away but I was willing to drive because I LOVE Dr. Willingham. The wait began to be too much though. I was always on time for our appointments and we waited a minimum of an hour(this was on a good day). There were plenty of times when we waiting 2 hours before we saw the doc. We would be in the waiting room for 30 minutes but then go to the exam room and might be in there for an hour waiting. My 2 year old daughter would understandably get restless and I was having to deal with tantrums etc. If you don't work or don't mind waiting definitely see Dr. Willingham.
My experience was for the office in Clarkston but I see from the reviews the slowness must be a problem with all of their offices.

My kids now see a doc about 5 minutes from us and we wait in the lobby no more than 10 minutes..most times much less and when we go to the room the doc comes right in.

My son's doctor WAS Dr. Ferguson until she seriously dropped the ball. I was having him evaluated and she never called me with a referral. It was April and had not heard anything from her. I took him to the doctor's office in February. I called the office about 4 or 5 times to see what was going on, no one ever returned my car. The wait time is terrible also, so that alone would make a person not want to bother with this practice. Very unprofessional and frustrating.

My son has ADHD (if you're someone who believes that it's not a real disease then I will be happy to allow you to babysit my son for a week without meds, but that is not the purpose of this review). And with this illness he has medical needs. We moved to the Smyrna area last year and for a while, i was driving him 40 miles 1 way to his old Doctor in Covington because We loved her and any parent understands the difficulty of finding a really good pediatrician.

Needless to say that was getting old really fast as one day he was sick and needed to see a Doctor and driving 40 miles through Atlanta traffic wasn't so appealing. So we shopped around and our insurance helped us and we came upon this pediatric group.

Now, first off, I am not judging the doctors or staff there as they have all been very nice, and professional. And I also believe they truely care about their patients.

But in 5 visits, they have yet to get my insurance right, after about 5 hours of combined phone time with them as well as my insurance its almost impossible. I've given up on it and just pay the "higher" copay because some of their Doctors on my plan, some are not, and it seems that the juggling of doctors causes lots of issues.

Which brings me to my second point. When I first went there I saw Dr. Hardin. She was very knowledgable, very nice, professional. Pretty much what I wanted in a pediatrician. But that was the only time I got to see her. In 4 subsequent visits I have seen someone different every single time, and I have to go through the process of explaining my son's entire case history... again.

And then theres the wait. I make the appointments with the expectation that they will stick to the appointments. For example, I schedule it at 10am (which I get there at 9:45am just so I dont miss it and be put in the back of the line), and it looks like me and a very few others are in the waiting room, and it still takes me until 11 to get into an exam room, and still another 30 minutes before I can see the Doctor. Pretty frustrating all the way around, and then again, another 15 minutes explaining my son's case history with a new Doctor.

But to be fair there are some good things about them. Every doctor is very knowledgeble (at least with my son's condition) and they are all very polite. The waiting area is nice, even though it is a paradox in of itself. Its a pediatric doctors office and there is no children's play area, and the TV's are always turned to the news channel or some other adult program that is very boring to children.

The office is big including a seperate wait area and entrance for children that are contageous (you have to let them know in advance because the door will be locked.)

Given my frustration with the whole process I am going to keep looking for a good pediatrician, but until then I will be okay with bringing my son to Decatur Pediatrics, Smyrna Office.

Technically I would give them a 2.5 star, because Its not that I wouldn't recommend them, but I am not satisfied either.

I love Dr Fergason but I was forced to find a new pediatrician because sometimes I have had to wait as much as 2-3 hours past the appointment time. Over the last few years it went from 20-30 mins behind to sitting in the office for hours. I love The Dr.s they are great but the scheduling is just a mess. I can understand having to wait when you come in on a same day sick appointment. But it is all the time now. Even if you have had an appointment for weeks. It is like they overbook on purpose.
