We came here after out 9 yr old beagle ran away twice and our 8 month old German shepherd destroyed everything she touched. MBF showed that you can teach an older dog as well as a young one.

After Tink??s two week initial stay at Man??s Best Friend, we have seen remarkable progress. One of the areas of concern that came up with Tink was while she was eating. She would get very aggressive about her food if anyone or our other dog came near. Tink??s trainer encouraged us to make Tink ??work? for her food. So we began making her ??sit? before we put the food bowl down and we made her ??stay? until we told her it as okay to eat. This has worked amazingly well!!!

Hondo came to MBF for a two week stay for his basic obedience training and came back home a changed puppy! He knows and responds to all of his basic commands (sit, stay, down, heel ect.) very well and is more calm and attentive in general.

Before we brought Dixie to MBF, our walks with Dixie were a real challenge. Dixie would pull us around the neighborhood. After spending two weeks with MBF, our Dixie was a joy to take for a walk, no more pulling! She is more obedient and pays attention. We will continue our training here. Thanks!

We adopted Winston and realized immediately we needed help. He was an older dog that was heard strong and needed to learn who the pack leader was. After spending two weeks with Man??s Best Friend the change is drastic. He now listens to everything we tell him to and we couldn??t ask for a better dog. Thank you.

Despite the challenges we overcame the downs and it was all uphill after Frody??s sessions were complete. Frody now loves to walk in the park, going for long stills. He also listens to Mommy and Daddy when given commands. And one day he won??t have any fears being around other dogs. John has made Frody so much calmer he??s an even bigger joy to be around. Thanks!

Man??s best friend is a good place to kennel your dog. We kennel our dog here because they take good care of her. We also train her here and she has learned so much.

Man??s best friend is awful. I cannot believe this place stays in business. We had two of our 7 month old puppies groomed there (they have been to the groomers before in another state). We dropped them off at 9:30 am. At around 3:30 I received a call from the groomer complaining that our boy puppy ??peed himself when she started to groom his genitals and now she has to clean him up!? He had been locked up all day with 14 other dogs barking and you just came at his privates with a razor! She was so insensitive and unprofessional! She also said she ??might need to cut our girl dog short because she was matted on her paws?. I specifically said DO NOT shave her. We FINALLY got to pick the puppies up at 5:00 pm and she shaved our girl puppy all the way down to her skin! Her skin was cherry red and on top of that the dogs smelled awful! The groomer just laughed and said she had to shave her. Our theory is she just shaved her because she was the last dog she groomed for the day and she wanted to leave. As for the boy his haircut was awful. He had spots that were uneven and she shaved some parts shorter and left the other side long. We showed our groomer from back home and he said this woman had no clue how to cut a dog. It took days for our dogs to get back to normal. They acted like they had been abused at this place. The girl did not want us to touch her yet she wouldn??t leave our side and the boy sulked for days. This groomer does not need to be working with animals.
When we spoke with the owner she refunded our $130 but said she was friends with the groomer and that maybe our dogs needed obedience school! No remorse on her behalf and she obviously does not care about the safety of the animals at her store. I advise anyone to avoid this place. Such a horrible experience, HORRIBLE groomer and rude manager.

We adopted a 9 months old from a shelter with no idea of how he was trained if at all. We just knew we loved his big ears and smile so home he went.

After a few weeks at home it was apparent that he was potty trained but not much else? We decided that in order to be good parents to our new lil boy we needed to invest in some training.

We enrolled him in the training classes at MBF and off to doggie boot camp he went.

When we picked him up we noticed an immediate improvement. We continue to go to weekend classes and with each Saturday he gets better and better. He now knows all his basic commands and we hope to be off leash very soon. Thanks to Man??s Best Friend for all the hard work.

With 2 unruly dogs, I felt like the scurge of the neighborhood when we were out on walks. Thanks to the trainer I??m proud to show off the ??new and improved? Kobe and Schmoopie. I cannot say enough about her training techniques. Now the only problem seems to be her forgetting the correct commands. You CAN teach old dogs new tricks!!

Gizmo was the last of the litter due to his crazy uncontrollable behavior. We tried the Petsmart training, with little result. We were ready to give up until hearing about Man??s Best Friend. Although hesitant to give it a try because Gizmo seemed helpless, it was the greatest decision ever made. Trish transformed a wild animal into an enjoyable pet. Miracles do occur! Thank you so much Trish and Man??s Best Friend.

I rescued Waki from a puppy mill at 6 months old. She was afraid of human contact and would not be around people or a leash without shaking. In three weeks, Man??s Best Friend had her doing everything I thought was impossible. Now Waki is obeying, protecting and loving people. Thank you so much!

We first took Charlie to a two month PetSmart obedience training program; however, his obedience actually worsened after taking this class! Charlie was thinking, ??Rut roh!? Then, I heard about Man??s Best Friend on the radio advertisement and thought it might be worth my time to go to the free consultation.

After talking with the trainers at Man??s Best Friend, we decided to let them have our precious baby for the two week ??doggie boot camp.? After the two weeks were up, we anxiously went back to MBF to see Charlie??s progress. Charlie??s trainer, Clayton was with Charlie and we were behind a two-way mirror, for we could see the boys in action with out distractions. The anticipation was so high and after just a few minutes of observation, my mouth was hanging down to the floor! Charlie was absolutely amazing!

Clayton was able to teach our 6 month old, attention deficient, hyper active, stubborn golden retriever how to sit, stay, down, come and the all important heal command within this short 14 day period. We were so impressed!

When I brought Zo here, she would dig in trash not house broken would jump on the kids, not listen to us as all, she would run when not on leash. Zo has made so much improvement in just one week. She now does not chew on shoes or furniture. She does not jump on my two year old daughter. She pays attention when outsides instead of doing her own things. Currently we will be working with her on the same things with lots of distractions; we are very pleased with the results so far and are excited to have such a well behaved dog at home now. Zo is a perfect dog that we can now trust at home.

At first we thought Bailey was just a pretty face and there was no hope for him. Justin was able to prove to us (rather quickly as well!) That you can have an obedient as well as cute and playful puppy. At times it seemed it was more about training us then the puppy and Justin seemed equally adept at that as well. We are very happy with the Bailey. We left Baily crated before due to her exuberance and destructiveness, but now we can keep Baily out and enjoy her company with confidence.

Justin did an excellent job with our dog. Thank you for making him such a pleasure to be around. We will try our best at home and will make our weekly lessons.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to you, Ms. Laurie, and all the other members of your staff that I believe have demonstrated attention and effort well beyond my expectation to Bailey and myself.

I brought you a female German Shepherd Dog that presented as an uncontrolled bundle of energy whose pastime was looking for things to jump on and chew up, then to accomplish her missions. This puppy was an absolute ball of misplaced energy that surpassed the Energizer bunny & virtually destroyed everything in her path.

Two weeks later I retrieved a vastly improved puppy that could & did focus on very acceptable behavior. It was immediately obvious that both you and Laurie had spent considerable time a& attention on Bailey. The continual follow-up that the two of you have provided for the past four months has served to mold Bailey into a mannerly lady with a social disposition that can also be very protective in a given situation. Thank you to all of you guy??s, I??m very proud of Miss Bailey.

I trained here with Greg. He was great, but not there anymore- but under the new management - DOG OWNERS BEWARE - subject dog neglect in the boarding area. My dog came home with bruises and scratches. My "grand" dog was brought home covered in urine and crap! They don't like it when you "drop in" to check up! Been going there 2 years and encountered this horrible behavior and treatment this past weekend. Makes me ill to think what they did to my pet over the last couple years. NEVER AGAIN!!!
The day care - 2 young men who watch the dogs - are wonderful and good, caring individuals. But the boarding is a nightmare. I will NEVER take my dog to them again after what i witnessed this weekend with my son's dog. See their review "clpharrell"

First let me say the Doggie Daycare center is great. The 2 guys that work with the dogs are super friendly. I don't want my comments to take away from them.

BUT.....After making good travel time back from Florida, we were excited that we were going to be able to pick our dog up from boarding early. Man's Best Friend closes at 5 on Sunday and we walked in at 4:55. After the girl at the front desk gave some attitude and pointed out that we were not supposed to pick up our dog until the next day - even though we explained we did not expect to make it back in town by 5 - she picked up the phone to call the back for our dog. After a brief exchange to the person on the other end and the girl at the front desk saying - "well - they are here for him now even though he is not supposed to be picked up until tomorrow" our dog was cautiously brought up to the front. He had dried poop matted into the fur on his hips and behind his legs. He smelled so bad of urine and feces we had to roll our windows down in the car to make it home. Keep in mind that we paid extra for "play time" in addition to the 2 times per day they supposidly take the dogs out to go to the bathroom. I have never seen our dog in this condition before. It took 2 scrub down's to get the matted poop and urine out of his fur and to get our dog back to his original condition. Because I have used them before, but he has always had a bath before we picked him up, I have never had this happen before. Picking the dogs up early really through the staff for a loop and really makes me question the previous times I have boarded our dog here. What kind of condition was he in before he was bathed? I will never use Man's Best Friend to board our dog EVER again because my trust and confidence in them has been demolished. I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from using them. Especially if you love your dog and want them to be taken care of while you are away.

Pros: Day Care Center

Cons: Boarding Center

.

I was pretty satisfied with the training that my dogs got at these facilities. I have ALWAYS trained my dogs myself, so I was pretty skeptical to let someone else do it. It just got to the point though that something had to give and I obviously didn't have the time to commit to training like I used to. They did a great job and Max is one happy pup now!

However, I would say that the boarding facilities aren't really of the plush variety that I am used to. I will probably try a new place or dog sitter next time I go out of town.

A poem written by my Dad for me to give to my dogs trainer, Greg. Greg was awesome with my wild Besenji! Thanks to Greg, Jack is a happy dog and we are a much happier family!

Jack is nimble, Jack is quick
Just like a kid's new pogo stick;
Leaping through windows and my screen door,
Scratching the finish on the new wood floor.

I love this dog; why won't he obey?
What do I do? What do I say?
I can't handle Jack all by myself,
I worry so much 'bout his anger and health.

I've searched everywhere for solace and care.
Was there anyone able to be honest and fair?
To teach my dog to follow my lead; to be
A proud member of his honorable breed?

I was about to give up; and what was the sense?
Jack was just bad; his mind seemed so dense.
Then I found Man's Best Friend and a fellow named Greg
Who has knowledge and love (a teacher's best blend).

The perfect solution I have found
To keep my friend Jack from the county pound!

I cried when I saw the amazing results.
My heart beat so fast with a furious pulse.
I had my dog back and was I ever glad
That now I was happy; no longer so sad.

And it was Greg's doing and I owe him so much;
Truly he has the master's touch. So, thank you all
For being Jack's pal from a very pleased Julie;
One happy gal!

All I heard on the radio was how great this place was. Well we took our dog in for boarding and found an extremely depressing site. I asked to take a tour before dropping my dog off and the request was met with rude remarks. They finally let me in to see the boarding area and to be honest some animal control shelters have better conditions. The warehouse setting was dark and cramped with stalls for dogs about the size of a shower. The had about 30 or so dogs in the steel boarding area and the sound off the walls and the concrete floors were deafening. I was reluctant to leave my dog but had to get on the road. I called the next day to check on the dog to make sure she was eating and was placed on hold for about 10 minutes while they checked. The response was she was just fine. I pick her up the following day and she came out in a comatose state. She was not excited or scarred. She was motionless. On the way back home we noticed that she had some sort of serious goup on her face, matted hair (not hers) in her mouth, and her paws had feces on them. We took her home and let her in the door and she went straight for the water. This was not a good sign as my dog will drink a ton of water on a daily basis. She roughly drank a half of gallon of water withing the first hour of being home. After that she slept for the remainder of the day with nothing able to wake her up. She was oblivious to what was going on. We were concerned about her hearing or the chemical they used in the mandatory bath. Finally after about a 20 hour nap and needing to be helped around the house she got her strength back. She is eating normal now and hearing is back. To say the least WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO MANS BEST FRIEND. If you care about your dog and want them to be healthy and happy when you get back think about sending them somewhere else. Like I said animal control shelters have better condition.

I have used them to board my two dogs, and I was completely satisfied! I feel that they have very fair pricing, and the options for the dogs were great. My dogs seemed a little bummed to see me when I picked them up ;-)

PROS: location, attentivness
