5 Stars: Great Thai food at reasonable prices (by BennyS)

I have been a few times with my wife and we have always been impressed with the food. She always get sushi and I always get Thai, so both are worthy of having. They have a few Thai items on the menu that arent the traditional things you expect to find (the spicy holy basil chicken is great), but the normal Pad Thai type stuff is great.

I have always had good service, but it is a family restaurant, so you might get the occasional crying kid. It probably isnt the best place for a romantic anniversary or anything like that, but for a normal night out it would be a hit for everyone, and not break the bank

5 Stars: Great food and service (by jen331)

I've eaten here a number of times with from 2 to 8 people. The service and the food are always excellent. My fiance is addicted to the Wild Jungle Curry! We're going to be regulars!

Go during happy hour for really great prices!! Even my "broke" friends can go for $1 sushi.

5 Stars: Wonderful Thai food and cozy atmoshere (by FJAven)

I've been coming for years, a very cozy place. I received my own personal chopsticks too! The Thai food is very good I always order the Masaman curry, and they update their menu with new specials pretty often.

5 Stars: Best Happy Hour (by yip yap)

you've got to make it to Shallots between 5-7 pm anyday.Their Happy Hour is fantastic. Starts with Local beer only $2.00 plus get 20% off any entree, but I love $1 sushi-thai menu sheet that just made me a very happy and fully satisfied man last saturday, all under my $10.00 budget.
To my curious mind I tried "Drunken Peanut"
from $1 menu to munch with my Budwiser and it was a perfect match. Well , for next time, the sake bomb would be my order with that crunchy munchy Drunken Peanut once again. It has some kind of salty onion-gingery flavor skin on peanut, sound a little wierd? but trust me it is very gooood! My server explained to me that this type of peanut is a natvie Thai favorite for muching with Iced cold Singha or Chang Beer. My server "Nuchi" is very friendly and prompt , the dining atmosphere gives me a family style sincerely welcoming feeling, casual, cozy and clean, the food (especially $1 Sushi) is excellent both in taste and value, so the five stars is the least I can endorse my appreciation to "Shallots".

5 Stars: Love Sunday Brunch (by pani)

My first time for brunch at Shallots last Sunday and it was so delicious. I had a brunch Bowl special of basil chicken Thai Style for only $5.00 with Thai Iced Coffee 2.50.....what a deal ! The service was very friendly and efficient. The whole place is very clean with a fresh red rose(cut from their front garden) in a cute little bottle ,set on each dining table.... so fresh and comfort. The restaurant was not so busy as yet because of not too many people are aware of ,as informed by our server . For sushi people,They also offer $1 Sushi menu.
I would recommend Brunch at Shallots at any Sunday!

4 Stars: Awesome Thai food (by QueSaraiSarai)

I think Shallots has THE BEST thai in all of Georgia. The only place better is actually going to Thailand itself!

Like everyone else has said, their Pad Thai is phenominal. And when you actually WANT something spicy they don't tip toe around the idea. They have things mild enough for my children and blazing spicy for me and the hubs.

Their sushi is good too. They have the run of the mill stuff like tuna, salmon, etc. Their Kanisu is yummers. They used to have All you can eat sushi wed - frid, but now it's only Wed & Thurs. A great deal and it's all made to order. Not sitting around.

Prices vary depending on what you get. $7 - $25 per entree. Children's meals run about $7. Their sushi is a bit expensive - outside their $1 and unlimited menu.

Their lunch and brunch menu is SUPER cheap. Go during luch. The flavors are fantastic and prices hard to beat!

5 Stars: Great Thai food, good sushi! (by foodEater)

I almost have pad thai all around town, metro Atlanta and the cities nearby. I would prefer 'Shallots' has the best pad thai in town, especially Pad Thai Low-carb, because it's clear noodle instead of traditional rice noodle, but both is good. Recently, they offered the fabulous four courses meal on Fri and Sat, that it's a very good deal. Either soft shell crab basil, panang curry with salmon, seared scallop with garlic sauce, and seafood green curry fried rice were a terrific choices for just about $15 combined with soup/salad, appitizer, and dessert. I think it just about right that we have a small salad and app, so we're not too full for the tasty main dish, and also complete our diner with the homemade coconut icecream which is awesome. They also offered four courses meal from sushi bar which is a combination of sushi and roll. They said choices are come from most popular items, and bekery roll was great. One more thing, sake is not too pricy and it go great with sushi. :)

5 Stars: you'll love this place (by the customer)

My husband and I love to eat at Shallots for years. Their Unlimited Sushi menu is an excellent choice for sushi lover but if you're crave for Thais, they have the best Pad Thai and I love their homemade coconut icecream.. Too bad the unlimited sushi on Fri.&Sat. night were discontinued but they did offer a new four-course sushi&Thais start from $9.95 and all the selections are fabulous. (They still do offer the Unlimited sushi on Wed.&Thurs. for $19.95) All in all they have good foods and good deal to offer you everyday.

5 Stars: Friendly People, Tasty Food (by ZonitGa)

This restaurant has a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food rivals some of the more expensive Thai restaurants in Metro Atlanta. It is definitely the best option for Thai food in the North Fulton County area.

5 Stars: Excellent Sushi Place - specials every night! (by Astrid)

I went to Shallot's on last Sunday evening and I LOVED IT. The service was spectacular, the food was delicious and the price was right ($1 sushi nights are Sunday-Tuesday). To top it all off, they actually have a new Sunday brunch menu so I guarantee that I will be in there again, but earlier next time. I had the miso soup, a couple of pieces of salmon nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, a bakery roll, a volcano roll and I tried the tuna mushi. Everything was delicious. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone and saw them preparing several dishes; what a treat that was. They paid so much attention to detail that everything that they prepared looked like the pictures on the menu. The raw fish is only on a bed of ice briefly when served to keep the dish cold; other than that, it is in a refrigerated section of the bar area while sushi is being made. I'm glad I sat at the bar so that I could see everything and kind of ordered as I saw something that I liked. My main reason for going though was so that I could try some things out so that I could decide whether I would drag my boyfriend out with me so that we could take advantage of the All-You-Can-Eat sushi menu that they offer from Wednesday-Saturday. I didn't even get a chance to try things on the Thai menu because I was so excited about finding a sushi place that I enjoyed.

2 Stars: Shallots Scores Low (by jshark)

My wife and I had our 13th anniversary dinner here last night. I have always resisted her attempts to go here in the past because of the location and we have our favorites like Circle Sushi and Sushi Nami. However, I was being very compliant for obvious reasons. The atmosphere was ok, we had a child cry briefly next to us but it was ok, we have kids and understand. I ordered Green Curry and they cooked it to order and replaced the shrimp with squid at my request. The sauce was tasty but the dish seemed fair when it came to the vegetables, the green beans may have been frozen and not fresh. I started with the coconut soup and it was ok, I have had this in quite a few places in the past to know the difference. She ordered the sample boat and it was not very good. I expected this after reading other posts commenting on the sushi before we went and warned she may be unsatisfied prior to ordering. First I asked her how the tuna tasted and she said it was ok but she would have preferred it without the sear on the outside. She did not like her sashimi because all of it tasted the same and seemed to be full of water since it was placed on ice within the boat. I ate one piece of the sashimi and agreed. I of course ate all she could not finish or would not eat. The J.B roll was ok, the California roll was standard. I did like the Bakery Roll which was fried. It's almost impossible in my opinion to ruin anything fried. However, the fried roll had very little taste besides being fried. The service was ok, the sushi was below average and the Thai was between fair and good. The bill was about $62 without tip which I thought was reasonable. We usually spend much more at the other places I mentioned. The sushi is so much better at Circle and Nami we always overeat and run the bill into the $125. range.

5 Stars: My Favorite Place to Eat EVER (by racheldmalone)

If you think that you have found your sushi place you are wrong. I have been going here for four and a half years. Not only do they have great food, they have great service. I love the quality of sushi, but the people that work there are my friends. they have become my budiies and I love to go there so much. I go at least twice a week, but sometimes more. It is my favorite place to go and I trully feel sorry for anyone that goes to the places around me. I have checked them all out and none have better food or service or BETTER PRICES. It isn't less quality either. The owners and staff pride themselves on the quality of their food and would never serve less than the freshest, best tasting sushi and Thai. Check it out or YOUR LOSS!!!!!

5 Stars: WILL DRIVE FAR (by honeyandme)

I liked this place so much that I drive from Austell to eat here. I love Thia food and I love sushi even more. When I went the first time it was on a Friday and they had an all you can eat sushi menu. I thought it wouldbe like some kind of buffet at one of those yucko chinese places. Was I wrong??!!!! it was some of the best sushi I had ever had. The ponzu sauce is the best!!! I consider myself to be a sushi snob. I am not your typical California roll person. I love sashimi and I want it to be fresh (who wouldn't)..... theirs was fantastic. I recommend this place to anyone anyday.!
I have been back since many times and I must comment on the great Thai food too. YUMMMMM!

5 Stars: My New Favorite Thai Place (by J's Girl M.)

I have always loved Thai Norcross and had thought that was the best Thai restaurant in the Atlanta area. But once I tried Shallots, Thai Norcross has nothing on them! I'm not a sushi person so I can't comment on it. But I can tell you, if you want real authentic Thai, this is the place to go. Service is always great and the food is awesome. It's a little pricier than other Thai places but it's well worth the money.

we were here for dinner so many many times, we can say we r regular. everytime we spent a lot, then we were kidding with the server to ask for own chopstick, the server, (s)he said we need to by another reward card so that we can get a pair of chopstick. my friend who does want chopstick said we had already have REWARD card, why we could not get another one free chopstick. the server said o.k."it's on me", then she brought the chopstick to my friend surprisingly!!!, (later we knew she would pay for us) then one guy came we guess manager or whoever just like how we got the chopstick without buying the reward card, he asked my friend and my friend said he didnt buy any but (s)he said it's on his/her then (s)he gave it to me.
finally we knew all the story and (s)he, that server got a big problem because of a pair of stupid chopstick.

1 Stars: Horrible Sushi and bad service. Also way overpriced. (by jcherok)

My family and I are Sushi fans so we were excited to find out there was a Sushi restaurant located near our house. We tried it out one Saturday evening and we were not thrilled. The service was horrible and the Sushi was way overpriced for below average tasting Sushi. We will never go back. Also, the children's menu was extremely expensive. The cheapest item was $7.95. I can't spend that on something a child might not like.
Take my advice, find another Sushi restaurant if you are reading this.

4 Stars: Good Service! (by Antiragweed)

This is a great place to hang out with friends. The sushi is made for you fresh and it is amazing. We finished our meal and lingered for another 45 minutes chatting - and were never pressured into leaving. The staff was very friendly. When I walked in, I noticed that there was a cabinet filled with chopsticks with names on it - it gave the restaurant a very quaint, comfortable family like appeal. As if people eat here so much they leave their own chopsticks!! The food was seriously good and the soft drinks, tea and water were endless. The food is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!!

3 Stars: Sushi is ok. Thai was very good (by genxer36)

I met someone there for a first date. The reviews looked good & it was convenient for my date. The sushi was ok. I have had better even from Publix. I ordered spicy tuna, my date had never had sushi. She was willing to try it. They put hot sauce for wings on the sushi. Instead of the traditional creamy spicy sauce.
But the thai green curry with shrimp was very good. The place was empty and the service was a little overbearing. I would go back for the thai, but not for the sushi.

4 Stars: Good Thai, with Sushi options (by sushi_goblin)

I've been going to Thai Pepper/Fuji Hana since 1996, Japanese food was never there strongest, but the Thai food is very good. They have changed there name to Shallots now but it's still the same. Great Thai food, average sushi. Monday night is $1 sushi, but when you order from the menu it's $2 for 2 pieces, thus no value... but if you want to try out various rolls, they are $2 for half roll. All you can eat sushi night sounded good but when we found out it was ((((($24.95))))) it' was a bit pricey for there quality of sushi.

3 Stars: Good Food & Service (by ny0357)

Went there with some friends on Saturday evening. The food was good and the service was also good. However, this is not the place to go, if you'd like to sit & talk after dinner. They only serve instant coffee & when we finished eating, the checks were brought to us with no mention of dessert. Expect to leave as soon as you finish eating... Not a place to sit & talk after dinner.

5 Stars: My favorite Place to dine (by jiggo)

I'm a regular customer at Shallots and I think they just great!
Unlimited Sushi is reasonably priced and whenever I've had the Thai food,
it has yet to disappoint me.
I'm usually in on the weekdays and the service is very good,
the weekends are generally much busier so the service can get slowed down.
Try it for youeself!

5 Stars: Love the place (by eatilldrop)

Pad Thai is the BEST! The perfect blend of peanuts, noodles bean sprouts, and lime. The noodles are never sticky of mushy. Other items on the the menu are great too, but you HAVE to try the Pad Thai. Service is sometimes slow when it's crowed, but they are always aiming to please. Prices are fair, but the food is so good! Highly recommended.

5 Stars: tartar (by tartar99)

I ALWAYS ENJOY THE QUALITY AND VALUE OF SUSHI AT SHALLOTS. MY CHOPSTICK WITH MY NAME ON IS KEPT IN THE SLOT OF WOODEN CABINET FOR MY CONVENIENCE. THE SUSHI CHEFS ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. OVERALL SERVICE IS VERY ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY. MY USUAL FAVOURITES ARE ISLAND BREEZE ROLL AND KANISU. HOWEVER ONE EVENING I TOOK A CHANCE TRYING THAI FOOD AND ORDERS CHICKEN BASIL THAI STYLE AND IT WAS SO GOOD THAT I HAD TO GAVE A BIG COMPLIMENT TO THE MANAGER AND THE CHEF. IT WAS A PERFECT COMBINATION OF SPICY GROUND CHICKEN WITH THAI HOLY BASIL, SEASONED RICE AND FRIED EGG WITH LIME SAUCE. WHAT AN AWESOME DISH! ^_^

5 Stars: Authentic Thai Food & Sushi. (by superbaa)

This has become my favorite Thai and Japanese restaurant. I had shrimp in the blanket and sushi combination, sample boat, as appetizer, it was very fresh sushi. Also, Pad Thai, Island Breeze, Spicy Basil Thai Style, Ginger pork salad, Masman curry, and more were superb, traditional tastes, and great decor dish. Quiet atmosphere and gorgeous décor. The dessert, sticky rice with mango, was really fantastic!!!. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous. The price is very affordable. My brother really love unlimited sushi offer. I go every week. Really enjoyed our time there.
