Doug Ponier is a horrible person and should let someone more qualified run his business.I paid for three months in advance for the free guitar and Doug accidently charged my account twice.I called and told him what happend and how it made me have overdraft charges and he wouldn't credit the money back.He told me he could only issue a credit for the next month.Even after admitting they made a mistake.Did not care about my account or what happend to me.So I decided I no longer wanted to continue lessons for my daughter and I just had a major surgery so I couldnt go in and cancel so I called and spoke to someone else other than Doug and they said they would cancel it for me No problem!Ofcourse Doug charged my card anyway and told me that I had to come in and cancel even though his staff said it would be fine.So you know he wasn't going to give me my 75.00 dollars back.He offered it back as a credit towards lessons in the future.I said no thank He said well since you didn't come in and cancel by the 25 I can only give you a credit....by this point I just wanted out so I said fine.I went in to cancel and he claimed he never said he would give me a credit.And because my husband wrote about the bad experiance I had, the credit that took me 30 min to fight for that he actually gave me he canceled after I left the store.So I am out 75 bucks because he didn't like my husbands review.Don't waste your money or your time.His own staff has a problem with him.Here is the email he sent me after reading my husband (Detroits Finest) review. Dear Mrs. Williams, The gift card I gave you yesterday was a courtesy in order to make a customer (you) happy. Per the agreement you signed (twice) Ponier Music did EXACTLY what we told you we were going to do and we were not obligated to offer the credit. After stumbling upon your online review of my store last night, I no longer have any interest in making you happy or a customer. The gift card has been cancelled in our system and is now worthless. Please never come in my store again. Thank you, Doug Ponier Ponier Music JUST SO YOU KNOW IN ADVANCE WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH

My fiance and I went to this place to look at their inventory. My fiance is a guitar player and loves to look at different shops for guitars. We weren't too pleased with Ponier. The inventory wasn't very good and they didn't have a good selection.

Doug and his staff are great. Doug is tremendous and will really work with you to upgrade to better instruments--his policy to trade-up at 60% value when you buy form him beats any competetion. Just ask him how it works. I have upgraded several guitars and there were a very competetive price to begin with, but with the trade value you can't lose. I like the selection, most guitars and amps are priced the same as the best online prices like Musician's Friend--and Doug will match any price. Ponier music is well worth a visit.

They are super nice as well and the prices are decent. They have a wood variety of instruments to offer and great prices too. They will actually give you a store credit for trade ins if you want to upgrade to a better instrument. They will also do a lot of repairs, which is nice too! This is the best music shop in town to go to! You will love your Ponier experience
