I go to Thai East Atlanta about once a month. I enjoy the dimmed lights, soft music, and the relaxed atmosphere I find there. No one is RUSHING me to eat and move.
Although I am always trying something I haven't tried before, I enjoy their Sushi in general and basil beef is an item I find myself repeating a lot.
After eating, I usually stroll down the street to walk my dinner off. One time I stayed to the after 11pm party and it was great. Too much fun for one night, being in my low 40's I guess I am getting too old to keep up with the younger crowd .... I wish I was 10 years younger and NOT MARRIED (just kidding honey).

Pros: Atmosphere, food, friendly staff and location

Cons: Once in a while, on busy nights, service is slow.

Pros: Amazing food and great fun!

I have eaten at I Love Thai Cafe many times. I have recently become obsessed with their $1 sushi on Monday and Tuesday nights. The menu varies in flavours, but hands down I find the sushi to be spectacular.
The cusomer service is amazing and I am always greeted with a smile. It is a family friendly restaurant while also catering to a young adult crowd. There are tables for one to eat as a group, there is also a bar for drinking and a sushi bar.
I have stayed for live entertainment on a couple Friday nights and honestly enjoyed myself. It is also in walking distance to a few other bars, for exaple the Graveyard.
If you go, I strongly recomend the "I hate you" sushi roll...it is amazing and will make all others hate you for ordering it

i found this restaurant a few months ago and its probably my favorite in eav. its not expensive so i go there a few times a week especially for sushi. it doesnt hurt the new waitress they have is very cute too! haha so far the the thai dishes ive had were great and they have some of the freshest sushi ive had! theyve also kinda let me create my own roll before so that was cool. theyve changed their artwork twice since ive been goin there but i was told they change it about every 6 weeks or so. a very chill place to hang out with friends or bring a date.

Average prices, average sushi, great atmosphere and super friendly staff. I would recommend going on their $1 sushi nights to save. Has a good selection of Thai beer.

First off, I give anything in EAV a free star. So I really wanted this place to be good. But, honestly, it?s pretty terrible. Our waitress was very touchy feely and layed on the southern charm extremely thick. So thick that it came of as fake almost condescending. She was very bizarre - calling people, ?daddy? and ?baby? etc? Anyway, after screaming our order and her repeating it the fun begins. The coconut chicken soup was average at best. It definitely wasn?t spicy enough and there was hardly any chicken and veggies in it. Our appetizer (spicy tuna rolls) came after our meals and was worse then what you can get out of the cooler in Publix. The Pad Thai was pretty disgusting. The noodles were overdone to the point they were a globular mess with some funky tangy flavor. The spicy pork fried rice was actually bland chicken fried rice. Each entree was around $9 ? so I wouldn?t say I got what I paid for. After we finished, we were pretty much abandoned for a good half hour and our glasses sat empty. The Paula Dean on ecstasy waitress was off at some other table giving massages to her daddies and vapo-rubbing herself. There are plenty of other great Thai places in Atlanta ? I wouldn?t waste my time or money here again.

I've eaten there several times and now refuse to return. They allow smoking at the bar, which is located in the dining area. The smoke was over bearing the last time I was there. If you enjoy smoke while eating sushi, this is the place to go.

I wanted to like it, really, since it's one of the closest Thai restaurants to where we live. The food was just so average though. The masaman curry only had potatoes, peas and carrots. I like it with avocado, cashews and some stuff that makes it special ~~ The sushi just didn't seem so fresh and tasted so-so. The other big thing is if you're there when there's light out still, the place feels like a nasty basement. A little more ambient light should be in order. Even if they lit the tealights on each table, that might make a difference!

Very close by, so we go there A LOT.
As a vegan, it's really nice to have good thai and sushi available in your neighborhood.

It's pretty darn good and won't break the bank.

Highly recommended.

East Atlanta Thai, AKA I Love Thai AKA Thai East Atlanta, on Flat Shoals Ave, is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Their Thai food has always been good (I could eat a bathtub full of the Tom Kha Gai), but the addition of the sushi bar really brought it to the "favorite" level. Their sushi is always very good, much better than the new RuSan's that just opened up down the street. The decor and atmosphere is very classy and entirely dateworthy, though still suitable for parents and even kiddos. Plus, I always enjoy the ever-changing displays of local artwork that grace the walls. The service is good, and the owner is often seen on the premises.

So easy to get to, so easy to deal with- food's great, service is great- and friendly, the prices are very fair- decent wine list. Rotating artwork. Cozy, comfy and cool. What's not to love?!

This is one of two all-time favorite restaurants for me and my husband. It's rarely too crowded, the service is perfectly attentive, and we love the food. Our favorites are Basil Chicken, Panang Chicken, the spring rolls, and any of the lime salads. The soups and sushi are good, too. The masaman doesn't have avocado, but it's still tasty.

The decor is modern-asian and the revolving art installations keep everything fresh and interesting.

OK Thai but nothing grand. Food was a little bland. They seriously need to invest in a web site and post their menu - lots of restaurant traffic is generated this way. Currently they cannot even FAX a "to go" menu. With a little work on the food and marketing this could be a very popular and well liked place.
