5 Stars: Exceptional Clinic! (by Lisa M.)

I have just started going to this practice (first cycle), and have to say that I am in awe of their clinic. The staff is always, always, friendly and caring. They are eager to answer any questions and concerns that you may have and are willing to take the extra time. They have quite a few patients to shuffle through in the mornings and they are swift and professional and alway work as a team. I have gone through treatment before with a different doctor and did not receive this quality of care. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to receive treatment from this group of exceptional individuals. Whether I get pregnant or not I will always feel that I received quality care. Thankyou Dr. Thiruppathi and staff!

2 Stars: The best place to work at (by Denise M.)

First, let me express my sincere sympathy to the previous writers situation. However, after reading her review, I had to respond. Unfortunately, infertility is extremely expensive. Most insurance companies consider this type of treatment cosmetic. In the eight years I have been with the Columbus Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, I have seen more and more insurances begin to cover treatment, however it is usually still costly in the end for the patient, whether is be their deductive or monthly premiums. The safety and welfare is always our highest concern when treating patients. Hypsterstimulation is a side-effect when using fertility medications. We try to compensate for this my monitoring the patient very closely. However, a patient can still hyperstimulate even with releasing one egg. In the eight years, I have never seen Dr. Thiruppathi advise a patient to continue treatment if a patient was about to release 12 eggs. It would not be in the best interest of the patient, due to hyperstimulation. When a patient becomes pregnant with triplets or higher, Dr. Thiruppathi always advises the patient to seek a consultation with a Perinatologist, who specializes in multiples pregnancies and high risk pregnancies. The patient must be informed of the risks of trying to carry all babies to term, not only to the babies but to the mother as well. Once the patient understands these risks, then the choice is ultimately theirs. We will then try to find the best doctors to care for babies and the mother. Congestive heart failure is not a result of hyperstimulation, but can be due to the stress the pregnancy put on the mother during pregnancy. Again, it is unfortunate that her situation was that extreme. Finally, Dr. Thiruppathi became a board certified physician with the American Board of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ABOG) in July 1999 and continues to be board certified to this date.

Over the past eight years, I have seen countless women walk through these doors, almost to the point of severe depression and will to throw in the towel on ever have a baby. Our rates do speak for themselves at 70% where national average is a mere 42%. I have a very rewarding job, especially when the parents come back wanting to take a picture of all of us with their baby. The amount of thank you cards we have received over the years makes working on the weekends and holidays all worth it. I couldnt think of a better place or a better man to work for.
