Chris Nicholson Hair Design

After reading reviews on CN salon I made an appointment with the owner Chris. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who asked if I wanted something to drink. I was then whisked off to get a great shampoo by a nice young lady. I waited for Chris at his chair. After years of sticking with the same stylist in Buckhead, I was hoping I could find one in Kennesaw or Acworth. Boy did I find one! Chris introduced himself and asked me about my hair, my last haircut, and what I wanted. Most importantly, he LISTENED. Chris has lived in Atlanta and grew up here. He is articulate, and extremely likable. He made me feel very much as if I had been his client for a long time. He took his time and gave me an EXCELLENT haircut. I enjoyed the salon, the staff and especially the owner Chris. I will 100% be back and have found myself a new stylist.

I visited Chris Nicholson Salon for the first time last week. Amanda Glynn was the stylist that cut & highlighted my hair. She did an awesome job. I can say she really listened to me. I have bounced around salons for about a year now looking for a stylist like her. I will absolutely be back and will recommend her to all my friends and family as well.

I have lived in Atl for 8 years. I have gone to many upscale salons for highlights and haircuts. I have to say David exceeded my expectations.What a gifted stylist! He did a great job on my highlights and haircut., he was friendly and professional as well. I have been asked by many people where I get my hair done. I would recommend David to anyone who wants beautiful healthy hair. The staff was friendly and everyone made you feel welcome. I was a walk in and this was a great surprise to walk out with beautiful blone healthy hair. Thanks David for your international experience and talent. You made me feel like a new person. I cant thank you enough.

I've had my hair cut/styled by Chris since high school (I'm now 37), and he is always upbeat and fun, and his staff is great! There is always a "smile" on the phone when I call for an appointment, and Chris is always good about squeezing me in if I need a cut on-the-fly! Shannon did my last highlights, cute streaks (peek-a-boo's is what she called them) through my hair, and I LOVE them. The salon is always tidy and professional, while the staff is personable and interactive. I think getting my hair washed is one of my favorite parts of a Chris Nicholson Salon visit... that mini scalp massage makes my day!! If this salon was on Ebay, it would have a 100% feedback, and 5 stars all around! Thanks, Chris and your staff, for making me look and feel beautiful! It's not hard to recommend them, because people ask me where I "get my hair done" all the time!

I was very impressed with the Chris Nicholson salon. Peaceful, serene, adult atmosphere (and as a Mom to young children this is a treat!), and very friendly service from the entire staff. Brenda was wonderful; very knowledgable and attentive. She listened to my concerns and helped me make a decision about a new cut and color - which I LOVE! And the price was very resonable. I left feeling great and will definitely be back - I have found a new salon home!

I just left the salon. It was my first visit. I WILL be back. It was by far the best experience that I've ever had. The atmosphere is awesome. The conversation was great. Everyone was pleasant and fun. And my hair looks great. I really couldn't ask for more.

I could not believe people would write that stuff about Chris. He is not my stylist but he always smiles or waves when he walks past. I love this salon and love the staff. The front desk is amazing! I recently came in and had a very very tiny problem and the lady was all smiles as she helped me. I have seen many diffrent stylist there and I am pleased every time I walk out the door. I will continue to tell all my friends to go here! Thanks for always giving me great services!

I have been a client of this Salon for over a decade....once, every four weeks for a hair cut., additionally a minimum of 3 times per year for highlights....that extrapolates to approximately 200 hours of time I've spent at the Chris Nicholson Salon. There are many choices in the area. I chose Chris Nicholson's Salon for their professionalism, talent, and pleasant surroundings.

I have and will continue to recommend this Salon highly. If you are a Mom (or Dad) with children that do not entertain themselves quietly during ADULT situations, please make arrangements for them to be else where.

I have withnessed many children in this salon entertaining themselves quietly. I find the prior negative remarks towards this salon and it's owner to be very self serving and narrow minded.

I wonder if the person who wrote the review that Chris screamed at a pregnant lady was even there. I was several seats down that day and can tell you that the lady had a young child with her in a stroller and most likely ruined the experience of everyone getting their hair done that day. When you go to the salon and check in there is a sign asking you to please not bring in children who do not have an appointment. We aren't talking about a baby in a carrier with this lady, it was a toddler who screamed and yelled and threw probably ten toys on the floor as well as covered a 2' X 3' area with so many cheerios that they had to be swept up with a broom. The constant screaming and yelling went on for at least 30 minutes until finally Chris walked over and in a heated but normal voice asked her if she thought that the screaming and yelling was fair to everyone there. She asked what he proposed she do about it and he said she needed to leave. What I think people don't understand is that this is not a place for children...it doesn't look like one nor claim to cater to children. It is a great salon where those of us with kids can go, get a fabulous color and haircut and relax! It is frustrating when you look forward to a great relaxing time to pamper yourself, pay the money that a great haircut cost, then have to listen to a child screaming for almost the entire time you are there. I have many kids myself and love them like nothing else, but I don't take them to places that aren't appropriate for kids and expect everyone else to grin and bear it when they are disruptive. Another thing to note is that the salon was PACKED and you could hear nothing but the child screaming. This is a wonderful salon and I have gone there for years. I told Chris after the woman left that his big mistake was not stopping her at the door when she came in with a stroller. I will continue to go back and appreciate that Chris safeguards my opportunity to go and relax at his salon.

First of all I have been going to Chris Nicholson Salon and Spa for quite sometime. I would like to state a few things about myself, I am 38 with two kids of my own (sarah 4, jake 1). And I know better to bring my kids to a Salon and Spa. And if you don't know the definition of SALON or SPA, you might want to look it up. I also arrange for a babysitter when I go out for pampering. And if you can't do that then you might want to rethink about what you are spending your money on, and spend it on the kids. It called common courtesy, consideration, cooperation, and generosity. But you might be to selfish to realize that.

I would recommend Chris Nicholson Salon and Spa to anyone. They have a great team of Stylist. Killer personalities and a variety of great styles. And for you ladies who do have kids: common courtesy, call ahead and ask when its a reputable time to bring your kids and maybe they can schedule you when its not a diligent time.

I have been a client of Chris Nicholson for a long time. I have always had top notch service from the time I call to make my appointment, check in at the front desk to getting my hair washed,and of course my great hair cut and color . Chris, the owner does my hair and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. I was disgusted and appalled by the review from the lady who brought her child in with her for her appointment. I was sitting next to her and her child. She had the poor kid in a stroller the whole time and he threw cheerios and toys all over the place. He whined and screamed the whole time. I have a child and would never even consider bringing him to an appointment. It's not fair to the child much less the other paying customers. The very least she could have done is leave when her child started crying. Instead she made everyone else suffer through it. I pay the extra money to go to Chris Nicholson not only for the a great haircut and color but for the atmosphere. I thought Chris handled the situation as professional as he could have. He has to think of all of the clients not just one. Not to mention, there is a sign at the front counter that request that you not bring your children. I didn't see any other clients that acted as though Chris was rude as some of you stated. I think everyone was relieved that he had enough class and professionalism to address it. If you want to go to a salon that caters to screaming kids and inconsiderate parents, then go get a $5 haircut somewhere. As for the repeated reminder that she is pregnant is also offensive. Being pregnant is not a disability nor is it an excuse to be inconsiderate. Get a babysitter. It's not rocket science. For those of you that want a true spa experience with professional, talented stylists, go to Chris Nicholson Salon and Spa. You won't be disappointed.

i see renee for highlights and i just wanted to say i think she is wonderful. my highlights are always perfect. but if you wanna get in to see her plan ahead she is a really busy lady. but very timely person. thank you for always taking such great care of me.

I was present on the day of the baby crying in the stroller too! I was sitting under the dryer on the right side of the salon. And Renee does my highlights and cut. BEST IN TOWN!!!!!!! I as well don't want to go to a salon and pay to have screaming kids around. Its exactly what the woman said with the two kids COMMON COURTSEY. Call and ask when its a slow time during the day so you are not bothering other people. The baby was out of control and she showed no interest in calming the young one down. I love Chris Nicholson Salon and Spa. Its a beautiful salon and amazing stylist. I will continue to stand behind this salon and recommend it to everyone i know...

To yell at a woman who is pregnant and with her child is sinful and unprofessional. Really...did it make you feel bigger to belittle her? I am aghast. Maybe if you stop overbooking you will be less stressed when the occasional child fusses. Most salon owners are happy to try to distract a child while their mother receives her services. You certainly do not market your business as friendly to parents who might occasionally have to have a child with them, and remember this, Chris...KID HAVE HAIR TOO. And they are young and have MANY YEARS of haircuts in front of them. But more important, most have mothers who will not tolerate that type of attitude. You have lost my business forever. And my children too...

After reading the review about the verbal abuse of a client, I have a negative experience that tops that! I was feeling a bit down after my husbands deployment overseas and thought that a day at the salon would help to cheer me up. Unfortunately Chris (the owner) was the one that my appointment was with. He would not listen to what I wanted, and insisted that I could not have been in better hands since he was the owner of the salon and "knew what he was doing". After a long time sitting in his chair (so long I lost track of time), between phone calls and customers talking to him while he worked on my head, my scalp started to burn! He rinsed my hair, and it literally started to fall out in his hands! Long story short, I might have saved money on a dye job, but I walked out leaving so much more behind...my hair! Honestly, you would be far better off getting your hair done at Best Cuts!

I was absolutely disgusted beyond words to witness the way the owner of this place spoke to a customer! There was a woman in there getting her hair done who was with a small child. The child started to get upset at the end of the visit, which was really not a big deal...I have children and it happens. This ignorant man, Chris Nicholson himself, approached the woman and told her to leave! He yelled at her and told her to leave! I have never seen anyone treat another human being with such disrespect. When the young woman (who was also pregnant) was paying, she again apologized and told him that he did not have to yell at her and humiliate her. His response? "You humiliated yourself"! The woman was in tears, the place was crowded...I will never, NEVER go to this place again, and I will certainly tell all my friends, co-workers, anyone who will listen, about the poor customer service. I honestly was more bothered by the way this man spoke to the woman than I was by the crying child.

Very bad experience with James. He never greeted me before having my hair washed so there was no discussion about the haircut. When he asked what I was looking for I showed him a picture and he agreed it would work on my hair and would be a good cut. When he started working he turned my chair so that my back was away from the mirror and I couldn't see what he was doing. When I asked when he was going to layer it he said that would be next (after he had cut off the length). When he turned me around I had a short, blunt bob.

Needless to say, I will never go back to him. Salon overall is not customer friendly.

Michael has colored my hair 3 times now and has always done a phenomenal job. The lady that had the problem most likely had damaged hair before she even got to Micheal. Micheal has always taken the condition of my hair into account before he colors it. He knows exactly what to use that won't damage my fine hair. He is trustworthy and one of the sweetest people I know. If you have him as your stylist you won't be disappointed!!!

I can not believe the review I read about Michael below. Michael has been doing my hair for a long time now. I think that he is one of the best at what he does. Everytime I have had my hair done by Michael it always looks better than it did the time before. His color skills are dead on and the cut is always perfect! Many of my family and friends go to Michael as well, and every one of them have had nothing but good things to say about his work.

I decided to check out the reviews for Chris Nicholson, and I was shocked to see the review below about Michael, who happens to be my stylist. I have been seeing him for about a year now, and my color and highlights have always come out absolutely gorgeous! Many of my family members go to him as well, and are always satisfied. Nobody knows what this previous reveiwer's hair was like before she even sat in his chair; it could have already been in bad shape. Michael is great, and he's one of the most sincere and talented people I know.

I got highlights from Michael and asked for ash blonde. He gave me brassy yellow and gold and my hair is completely fried. Since Michael left before my hair was dry, Chris offered to have me come back to get it fixed. No way would I go back to him. It's like straw, I'm afraid to have any more chemicals put on it to correct the color. Chris is nice and does a good cut.

I dont know what the person below me is talking about, but I've been going to Chris Nicholson for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it. This place has some of the most talented and friendly sylists/employees working. I would DEFINITELY recommend this salon.

I can't tell you how many times I showed up at this salon to find my stylist over booked for the day, unable to cut my hair or not there all together. The staff at the front desk are about as unprofessional as they come. If your looking for a new salon, I'd suggest you keep looking.

I had never been here before and went for a haircut eight months pregnant. Not feeling so lovely these days, but the stylist was very friendly - listened and cut my hair just how I like. The receptionists were a little snooty and I was annoyed that there was a $2 fee to get cash back for tips. That's very very lame, but I did it anyway - cause you can't not tip. Also, their products smelled wonderful and left my hair feeling great.

Would definitely go back and for those who care - I saw MIchael. He was a doll.

Pros: Great cut. Loved my stylist - Michael. Great products - smelled yummy.

Cons: Snooty receptionist, few perks like free shoulder rubs etc., and $2 fee to get cash back for tips.

I love going to Chris for my hair care. The people are wonderful and my highlights and cut were great . I will never go any place else, the professionalism and service are more than I could have hoped for. Chris is awsome, you can't ask for a better stylist.

So I went in not expecting much as the night before I had gone to a different salon and they really messed my hair up. I was a normal brunette and had asked for blonde highlights and left that other salon 6 hours later with bleach blonde hair and a few random strands of my natural colored hair. Saturday became a frenzy to find someone to fix it before the workweek and my trip to meet my boyfriends sister for the first time in montreal. I gave Chris Nicholson's Salon a call and they fit me right in. I got there , didn't have to wait very long and DAVID turned my hair into a piece of amazing art. He made my hair look absolutely beautiful. I will never go anywhere else to get my hair done. Thanks David for all you did to make my hair gorgeous again.

James has been doing my hair for 4 yrs now and I have nothing but great things to say about James and Chris Nicholson! I've moved to Buckhead and still drive up to Kennesaw for James to do my hair.

Was lucky enough to have the one and only Chris do my hair for a few years.
I moved away, and there went the good hair. Many have tried, I have given up
