i had a great time
I went a few months ago, just to look and had a great time, yes the price did get cut a little, but no one was pushy, they were busy but took the time to let us know, and then when it was our turn, they were very patient and kind, i will be going back. up until now, reading all the reviews i have never heard anything bad about this place. so im not sure if you all were just not patient or in bad mood, but i enjoyed my experience,

High Pressure, Unsophisticated Operation
Buyers BEWARE D Geller & Son Jewelers, especially if you are not comfortable around high pressure sales people (myself included). I went into D. Geller a few weeks ago while shopping for a ring. The atmosphere reminded me of a pawn shop and made me feel uncomfortable. Granted, that is not the reason to buy a ring so I shrugged it off and met the salesperson. She was very friendly and attentive at first as I explained what I was looking for. She then went to the back to match a loose diamond with the band I had selected. She brought out a diamond with noticeable inclusions and a yellowish color. I was not impressed but she continued to push about what a great value it was. I thanked her but said i was not interested in buying today. Without blinking, she dropped $700 on the diamond price and told me she would throw in the band ($800) if I bought both right now, that second. She also explained how the price of gold is going up so I better act now!!! It sounded like an infomercial. I explained to her that I did not have the money with me and I was not going to use a credit card, so if I could just get her card I would let her know. Every explanation fell on deaf ears. FInally after an hour the ol' switch occured.
The sales manager appeared. Again, the sales manager was very friendly. I explained I was really just looking. He went back and brought out a much more expensive diamond. It was nicer with a higher price tag ($8,000). However, all the diamonds I was being shown were uncertified. He explained that certification was worthless, which for my peace of mind I just don't agree with. I told him I was not interested in buying today. In a blink, he had reduced the price of the diamond to $3800 + throwing in the band. I'm thinking, how much markup do they put on their diamonds if they can still make a profit with a 50%+ price reduction! He asked me if I had looked other places, which I had. He then proceeded to make fun of all the other jewelers I had visited. After about 3 hours of schmoozing and price reduction, he actually convinced me I was getting a stellar deal. I ended up putting down a very small deposit (less than $100) on the nicer ring. As soon as I walked out I felt uncomfortable about the situation. When I tried to email the sales manager that weekend, his email address didn't work. Also I found out there is a NO REFUND policy on all jewelry. If you are so confident about your price, size, and selection, why can't something be returned. Needless to say, I went to another jeweler, actually found a BETTER deal on a certified ring, and the whole deal was handled professionally. I lost my small deposit, but honestly it was a small price to pay for piece of mind. My fiancee loves her ring! Only go to D. Geller if you are ready to buy and don't leave until the price has at least gone down 50% because the markup has to be extremely high...
Long story short, avoid the high pressure sales. Check out a classy operation such as H & A, Solomon Brothers, Shane Co., or Jarrett. All were much more professional when I visited them...

Trashy, unprofessional, tasteless
Why would anyone go to this place? They make fun of personal traits of other Jewelers in their radio commercials. Such as making fun of the Shane Co. man's voice and such. This is childish and tasteless. They even make fun of their competition in their stores... It's like the owners have told their employee's "Make fun of our competition as much as possible and poke fun at their personal traits too, not just their businesses." They know no shame and their business practices show that. Would you trust this place?

Scammed
I just took my D Gellar ring to another jeweler to be fixed after the prong broke and they told me several things were done wrong. First, it looked like the setting had previous work done on it, and the ring was even set crooked, along with several other things done wrong! I regret my decision to get my engagement ring from D Gellar!

I love my ring...
I could not help but read the reviews about this company.. wow! There are some pretty bad reviews on here. My experience was pretty good. They where a little pushy in making a sale BUT, they made the perfect recommendation that I bought. I have nothing negative to say about my experience at this store. I love what I bought...

I don't think these guys are as bad as these reviews say...
I went to see this place today and did not expect to buy anything. Just because of the reviews I have seen on various sites. I hear them on the radio along with the shane dude all the time claiming to have the best deals in town.. Well truth be known, I didn't have a bad time at all. They where helpful and nice and where not all up in my business. Yup.. I did it. I bought something there... and my wife loves it! Prices... well something nice isn't cheap.

BUYER BEWARE!! Do NOT shop at D.Geller
Do yourself a favor and do NOT step foot into this filthy store under any circumstances. The workers are RUDE and insulting to their customers. They will not accept, "Just looking for an answer." They will try to taunt you into buying. Their jewelry is poorly displayed and looks like Cracker Jack JUNK! Stay away my friends!!!
PROS: Absolutely NONE
CONS: Rude, dirty, unprofessional, scam artists...

Overpriced
Don't believe what the salespeople at this store tell you - it is overpriced. Even when they offer a large discount off the sticker price, it is still above what you would pay at other stores. Return policy is the worst in the business.

Wake up people!
I've recently come to know a woman who has a similar testimony about this establishment as many of you. And by "you", I mean those with the negative experiences - the positive testimonies are fabricated - I've surfed the web long enough to know. It's obvious the store is creating those to counter the negative press.
I'm astonished that so many of you feel helpless. I see no reason why a group of you couldn't get together and sue them - you should be able to save money if there are more of you sharing the cost of an attorney. I've dealt with the courts long enough to know this, few absolutes exist in the law. Businesses don't win when this many customers consistently say they have been harrassed and taken advantage of. You should seek punitive damages as well since they are seemingly injuring the residents of Georgia. That stuff plays well in the courts too. Good luck everyone and stop being scared of these creeps. Life's too short.

Embarrassing Engagement Ring
My husband purchased an absolutely beautiful band for me at a small jewelry shop in Dahlonega (of all places). The diamonds in it were really lovely. After hearing all of the commercials for D Geller & Son, he decided to go there for the center stone. Well, what should have been a truly exquisite engagement ring turned into an embarrassment. The center stone they sold him was so yellowed, so obviously of a lesser quality that it was actually visible to the naked eye. Since this was my husband's first single diamond purchase, he was clueless when the clerk invited him to look through the loupe. He had no idea what he was looking for and thus, completely missed the horrendous flaw in the diamond. I fault D. Geller for trying to make a hasty sale to a novice purchaser and totally RUINING what should have been a beautiful 2 carat engagement ring. The other reviews are correct. The staff is terribly dressed; the place looks (and acts) like a flea market and it might as well be a timeshare boiler room in the way they try to hard sell you on a purchase. I can't stand my ring and look forward to the day we can upgrade it to something that actually looks like a diamond instead of a dirty stone.

Christmas gift
I was looking for jewelry for my husband and I hadn't had any luck. I went to the town center location and to my surprise they had a large selection of men's jewelry which no one had.

Great
My fiance and I went to look at engagement rings. Our salesman spent 2 hours with us until we had found the ring my fiance had been looking for. This is a top notch place! I will definitely go back for our wedding rings.

Engagement Ring
I had been shopping forever and had went to every jeweler in the city. I final decided to go to D.Geller and son. When I went in I was greeted by a nice young lady that was very professional and helpful. She took alot of time in finding the ring that I had described to her and explained all the aspects about the ring. After to going thru all of that one of the managers came out and began to speak to me about purchasing the ring, I explained that I had found a ring that was similar size, color and clarity at a cheaper price, I could tell that he was a little bit surprised(at this point in my shopping I've seen so much that I probably know more about than must) After going back and forth a few times we settled on a price that was about 20% less than everybody else. Now I don't think I'm great negotiator or maybe he didn't realize what he had but I came out way better than I could have ever expected and to top it all off they mounted it while I waited.

Take your money somewhere else...
My fiance' and I went to D Geller for my engagement ring and we were suckered into what we thought was a great ring. The ring that they showed us was beautiful; however the ring that I went home with had a major flaw in the center of it and did not look like the ring that we thought we bought. I was embarrassed to show off my engagement ring. My suggestion is to do your research ahead of time. I would never shop at this establishment again nor would I recommend it.

worse than i expected
I pulled up to the new location in kennesaw (it a corner of a shopping center) and was shocked to see a man lounging on a chair in the door way. He was the "security guard". The store looked like a flea market and the person who helped me was maybe 22 and dressed so casually, like he was on his way to a baseball game. He kept escaping to the back to see if there was something else back there. He kept telling me how I could get 20% off any jeweler's price, that they could do anyhing to get my business, etc., but not is a re-assuring way, but in a desperate way. And to top it off, he told me he was hiring as offered me an application. And, just like in their ads, they put down the competition. He commented negatively on the shane co's service, prices, etc. I was left with a very bad feeling. He told me to get the best price I need to buy before Christmas b/c all the rates will be going up won't come back down....even months after the holidays. I felt like I could easily get ripped off at this place. I will not be back to "visit them last, after I go everyone else" as the salesman kept telling me as I left.

They will take your money and advantage of you. Don't go there!!
This shopping experience should have been exciting, but geller made it painful. We first went in chose our setting then the diamond, when they went to set the diamond, they lost it. Then said they found it after about 30 min of waiting. After we left we noticed a large fusion in the center that was not in the one we picked out. We took the ring back and found that there was no refund policy and after having to argue , they brought out another diamond, we asked for a glass to look at the diamond we were told, you don't need one. We looked at the stone on a black velvet pad, it looked ok, I think they switched it in the back when they went to set it. We had to pay extra for another diamond, only to find that it was yellow after we went outside and looked at it in different light, very yellow, worthless! The first diamond had a very visible fusion, but at least it was not yellow. Wanting everything to be perfect for our wedding day, we went back again days before our wedding to exchange the entire ring and found that with a fight, could exchange the setting. Again, I had to pay extra, they said it was to scrap the setting. we were told the original setting was now worth scrap to them. Now we've spent a large amount of money for what they considered worthless scrap. I still have a very yellow diamond, I do like my setting, however, after subtracting my husbands ring from the total purchase, I have a wedding set that has a worthless yellow diamond in the center. We are going to have to replace it. We will never shop or refer anyone to Geller. They treated us like we were stupid, I feel as though I've been robbed, we spent a large amount of money on something that I'm embarrassed to wear. The center diamond is so yellow. And the most painful part of this....they don't care, this is something I'll be wearing the rest of my life, passing down to family and the diamond is worthless. Please, if you shop here, be very careful, our advise....don't bother going there, I've talked with other Jewelers and they will take and trade the diamond, however, its going to cost us more money. What a sad experience. Every time I look at my ring, I'm angry. No refund policy that they don't tell you about until after the purchase and you see your receipt, they don't rate the diamond in writing, or break down your receipt, and if you do go back to exchange, they will charge you more money, they give you bogus appraisals, on my receipt, they did not even show the difference in charges for the setting and the diamond or my husbands ring, We should have cancelled the entire purchase, but, before we knew what hit us, it was done. Go anywhere but there,, they don't care, your just a dollar sign to them, and because of this, I'll never spend my hard earned money with them again, if I could get a refund, I would and I would go somewhere else, they also don't guarantee anything. What a hard lesson for us. What ever happened to treating people the way you want to be treated, I'm sure, none of you at Geller would like to be ripped off the way we were.

Awful, terrible--stay away!
Stay away from this store! They do not give refunds and they sneak that in on the "contract" and then don't give you a copy. If you insist on shopping here, know that they mark up their products by 1/3 the cost you could get it elsewhere. So negotiate carefully and make sure you want to be buried in the item you buy.
And don't take your children because the manager cursed at my husband in front of our three year old child. Nice, huh? Sounds like somewhere you'd want to do business, right?

Terrible experience
My fiance and I went to D Geller to look at wedding bands recently and found this store and the salespeople to be very disappointing. The employees seem to be ill-informed and couldn't answer some very basic questions about their diamonds. When our salesgirl couldn't close the deal with us, there was a second person who was introduced. He was rude and pushy and seemed to have no problem bad-mouthing every other retailer we mentioned. He was very unprofessional and really turned us off. When he too had trouble closing, there was yet a third man who was so completely obnoxious that I felt like I needed a shower after we left. We found them to be very overpriced as well. The Tungsten bands are almost double what they are in every other store we've seen and the diamonds seem to be very high priced for pretty average quality. I can't see us ever buying anything from D Geller or even returning to the store. We would definately not recommend them as this was a very unsatisfactory experience.

Lots of Designer rings in low key atmosphere
there is finally a store where you can get designer rings, i guess any kind of jewelry, when you know you are not paying the markup for a fancy high end jeweler's storefront. I wanted a Scott Kay engagement ring that i could not find anywhere else, and they even had it the store for me to look at! I went to like 4 other places in Atlanta that carry Scott Kay and no one had it. D. Gellar's diamond prices where alot more resonable than i had found also. we will definitely go there to get our bands.

Not so good
I expected a lot from them based on the amount of money they put in for commercials. It just wasn't all that. The space inside is tight. The goods were overpriced. We were looking for Celtic style wedding bands. They tried to tell us that no one wears those anymore. I'm sure that's why they had appeared in so many catalogs that we had received on weddings and jewelry.
Your time is better spent elsewhere.

Jewelers
Okay so if you heard any of their advirtesements on the radio you will think that this is a great place to go buy some jewelry from, but once you actually visit you will be shocked. They are located in a dingy shopping center behind the olive garden. Everything in the store seems old and overpriced.

Prepare your Escape!
This place operates like a used car lot. The sales team consists of a bunch of 20-somethings that sell you like their next meal depends on it - extremely high and insulting pressure. At one point we were asked to sketch out the design of a ring we wanted on a piece of paper when we clearly stated we were just looking. Huh?! Two times our salesperson ducked away as we attempted to leave to either, "show us something from the stash in back" or "get her business card." We finally just walked out. I wonder how many times the security guard at the door sees that happen? The place looks like a thrift store inside and that's about the quality of service you'll get.
If you have a brain in your head and any appreciation for customer service, you'll want to avoid this disaster.
PROS: None
CONS: Insulting staff, unprofressional
