D. Geller & Son

The store isn't much to look at, but this reasonably priced jeweler delivers the goods without any attitude.

AVOID!! This was the worst experience I have ever had in a retail environment. They saw me as a young person and tried to get me to put down $100 with no refund to guarantee a low price that they could "only offer me that day." Classic

(Disclaimer: Am NOT an employee or owner!) After months of shopping for a wedding band to match our heirloom ring, we ended up decided to purchase something at D Geller because their prices were the most reasonable all things considered.

Rather than be sued by this company I will just say go by the reviews they are correct.Check the stars and be wary of a store that keeps it dark inside. Make sure you take the diamond to the window if you can't see it very well. There are a lot of good diamond stores in the malls and I have heard Jared is very good. We were very unsatisified with these people.

I can assure you that customer service is of the utmost importance to us. The last thing I ever want is for a visitor to one of our locations to have anything other than a first class experience. Please contact me as soon as possible so that I may personally address your concerns. Richard Frazier, General Sales Manager, D. Geller And Son Jewelers, (770) 955-5995

Caveat Emptor! This place is slick and TOO slick for young couples looking to buy an engagement ring. They will sell you on their "low prices" but screw you on their bogus diamond grading scale. Buying a diamond is way too complex for most folks that have NO idea what they are doing and are taken advantage of by unscrupulous stores like D Geller. Rest assured, if you bought there, you overpaid for the quality of diamond you got. If you don't believe me, take your D Geller bargain to a reputable jeweler and ask for an insurance appraisal. You'll find that you bought a piece of junk.

Pros: Amazing staff that cares!

I had a beautiful solitaire that I wanted to reset into a new setting, and came to this location to look at their selection. I found a ring but continued to shop at other stores because I liked it but I did not LOVE it. After going to Jared and receiving what might have possibly been the worst customer service I have ever had, and Shane which did not have the selection of mountings I was looking for, I returned to D Geller & Son. This time, I found the most amazing setting in white and yellow gold with canary diamonds. Everyone in the store was genuinely interested in helping me and took a personal interest in making sure I was happy with the ring. No sales pitch, no desperate employee looking to make a commission (like Jared), no pressure. I got the most AMAZING deal on the price of the ring and am elated with the way it looks. I came back 3 hours later and the ring was set, cleaned, engraved, and ready to go immediately! NO WAIT and everything was complimentary, NO added fees! They even redid the rhodium on my wedding band which they did not have to do :) Jared wanted to charge you for everything!!! The warranty, to set the stone, engrave it, etc etc. Beth, Stephen, Connie, and Tiffany are all amazing and if you are looking for a pleasant shopping experience I strongly encourage you to go to this location and allow them to help you! You will NOT be sorry :) This was a big deal for me and they really made this experience one I will cherish forever. I will be back for a new wedding band ASAP!

Despite what i saw on these reviews, we decided to take a trip to the Smyrna store a couple of weeks ago. I had no issues..? I got what i needed at a reasonable price and left. I was not pushed into buying anything. To all that read this, I think some of the bad posts on here are due to "people" (competition) not liking others in the market place. I would recommend them.. Just my 2 cents.

Extremely pushy, the "owners" walk around the back of the store dressed like hobos and they have girls pushing the merchandise at you. I made two purchases from them before this last one today, and likely it will be my last EVER. What I do not understand is why they list a price on the ticket, then do the "used car salesman" routine, walking back down the hallway (Smyrna location) and come back $500 lower. So if I didn't push the issue I would have just been RIPPED OFF $500? Their used Rolex selection at Smyrna is pathetic and they have had the same 2 watches there for about a year.

I agree, go somewhere else. Pushy, uninformative, and a terrible location - aesthetically. Embarrassing.

The only thing worthwhile price-wise in the entire store is their watches. Why? You can research prices and find out values on most cell phones, then compare them. Everything else, like diamonds, rings, pendants, are so subjective - and they seem like scammer to me.

If you notice, the only people leaving good comments are newly engaged couples whose minds are fried from puppy love and lack of jewelry buying experience. When you are 25 you know nothing, by the time you are 45, you have seen it all.

First visit wasn't so bad except the lack of selection & the used car salesman tactics to sell you an inferior diamond! I was directed to go to the Smyrna store vs. one in Kennesaw for better selection. Wrong!! I did some research before going to the Smyrna store. I came in with what I found for them to "beat the price". Long story short the MANAGER began ARGUING with me that what I found is "only good on paper" & isn't better than anything he could sell me! He even tried to talk me into a diff. cut than what I asked for! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SELECTION!!

You remember that scene from the movie Fargo, where the guy was selling a car to this couple, and he pretty much scared them into buying that sealant option? Yeah, its that bad.

Terrible customer service!! What a disappointment to see how poorly D Gellar & Son is being run! My husband and I have purchased several thousands of dollars of jewelry from this store over the past few years. But after our recent treatment from the store Management team, we will never step foot in the store again. Seriously folks, I'm in the retail business and would NEVER dream of talking to a customer the way we were talked down to, nor would I tell them we do not need their business. Business or not, you DO NOT treat people the way we were treated. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, DO NOT GO TO D GELLER & SON.

I will never recommend or step foot in D Geller. They used strong arm tactics on my girlfriend and I. They brought over 3 other people including manager to try and sell us an ugly yellowish diamond. As I shopped around I found out how terrible and overpriced this diamond was. While we were there they were pressuring another couple and nearly chased them into the parking lot. Luckily that incedent provided enough distraction for us to get out. I can't believe this place is still in business. DO NOT GO THERE!

I dont care if my salesman is wearing a 7k rolex... D. Geller is an excellent store that answered all of my girlfriend's questions. They were willing to really lower the price for me. I looked at other stores before buying and they couldn't touch the deal. Friendly salespeople, great prices- what else do you need?

The clerk there coerced me into putting money down on a ring, taking advantage of me being nervous and stressed out. I was looking for an engagement ring and this was my first time making a purchase like this. I asked him to clarify what he was asking me to do twice, both times failing to say I was making a purchase and/or that it was nonrefundable and reassuring I was just doing this to "hold" something.

They of course refuse to give me my money back. Not to mention they put lots of pressure on you making a purchase. Avoid this place at all costs.

Not a fan of this place - they continue to try to wear you down until you buy something. They will not let you out of the building until you purchase something. That is what I don't like. I got suckered into putting a (thankfully) small down payment on an engagement ring because they were the only ones (at the time) that were willing to make my custom designed engagement ring. Then I went to Solomon Brothers and got a much better diamond (went from F to D and S1 to VS2) for less money! Thankfully I only put a little bit of money down at D Gellar, which will be used to buy something else as it is considered "non refundable, but exchangeable," which translates into a credit.

I went there again to look at wedding rings, and they tried to convince me to purchase my fiance's ring without her being there to pick it out. Pathetic.

Then I went there again to look for an Easter present to get her. Again, they tried to convince me to purchase something without her looking at it. They kept "lowering" the price until I literally had to walk out.

If it wasn't for my credit, I'd never walk in there again. I just hope I find something I actually like there before they go out of business.

I research everything to death and shop around, so I did this doubly so when looking for my engagement ring. Fiance set a budget, and let me pick it out, and I knew exactly the range of cut, color, clarity, and carat size we could afford. I had been to 3 shops before I went to D. Geller, and although I noticed they were somewhat plain I was not upset by that. I was upset by the fact that all the salesperson wanted to know was how much we were willing to spend, didn't care one bit about the quality of the stone we were looking for. When we finally coughed up a number he brought us some stones that looked like scratched glass for the same price I was getting 1 carat G color fine cut VS2 stones elsewhere. After getting 2 more stones of the same bad quality, I was done. On one of his high-pressure sales trips back to the sales manager, we up and left. I'm sorry, but when someone is trying to sell you a piece that you'll have for a lifetime and uses the phrase "What can I do to get you to walk out of here with a ring today?" with the full used-car salesman schtick, it leaves a very bad impression and I've dissuaded all my friends from using them.

This was the worst customer service experience I have every experienced. They behaved as if they never have any customers and would do anything short of clubbing you over the head to purchase something. The first salesman never even introduced himself to us. The second who was a manager sent in after we reapetedly requested a business card so that we could return after visiting another store. The manager then repeatedly insulting us saying that "we know you won't return because the average customer never does" as well as "people do not buy based on the best deal". And then after I told him we would be leaing because I didn't appreciate the pressure tactics that he was using and if continued would not return...he then said "you must be a teacher because teacher's get upset when you don do what they tell you to do". I was blown away by how unbelievably rude and insecure Doug was. Their sales tactics were worse than a used car salesman. Even if the diamond was fifty dollars I would not buy it from them.

I could not be happier with my experience! I was a little apprehensive due to the some of the negative reviews but decided to give them a shot. First off, they had literally five times the selection of their competetors. and the deal I got on a BEAUTIFUL 1 carat pear cut diamond was untouchable. Without exaggerating I paid $900.00 less than what I had planned to spend on a comparable diamond at a leading competetor. ( The one in the tall building in Buckhead.) I was met with nothing but professionalism from my phone calls to the interaction in the store, nothing but class!! Mike was great, incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. You here the radio commercials, believe them. No b.s., hands down their the best, I am truly a customer for life.

Geller & Son's a while back (I didn't want to write this review until I proposed) and I was very impressed with the level of service and the quality of the ring I got. Deena, the salesperson, walked me through the entire process; she helped educate me, she helped me pick a style (that my fiance loved!) and she was even able to get the size exactly right. At the end my first visit, I told her I'd like to shop around a little, and she said that'd be fine. I went to a few other jewelers, but they didn't have the selection of settings D Geller had, and their diamond prices weren't any cheaper, if not a good bit more. So I returned to D Geller's and made my purchase there. We later came back and bought my ring there, and I am, of course, very pleased with it as well.

I'm not sure why this place is getting any bad reviews -- I wasn't pressured at all, and I found out the sales people there don't make even commission. If you're shopping for a ring, please try this place. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Great service, prices and selection

Cons: bleak decor -- I guess that keeps prices down, though

I used to live in Georgia and was always happy with the quality and prices of D Geller. I now live in NYC and I basically have 2 options... buy from the big expensive guys (Tiffany, etc) or the very shady jewelers on every corner. I have been going to Tiffany, but you really are just paying for the name. I decided to call up D Geller and see if they would ship to New York. I spoke with Stephen and told him what I was looking for. Within a few minutes he was already sending me pictures of some diamonds in my price range... all of them much larger and nicer in quality than what I would get at Tiffany. I sent him a picture of the setting that I wanted. And the next day I had a package waiting for me. I couldn't have been happier with the quality and neither could my wife.

First off let me say that D. Geller has impressed me beyond content. A few month ago I had went to Jareds and had a very rude experience. The sales people didn't even bother to help me! So I called I decided to see what D. Geller was about. After doing some comparision shopping, I called D Geller and told them what I wanted. I came in to the kennesaw store and spoke with a gentleman named Kashi about a 2ct I wanted for an engagement ring. He was very knowledgable and found me a beautiful 2.04ct round diamond with a GIA certificate at a price I could not believe. He saved me Over $2000 in comparison with Shane. He also told me he would take care of the ring and let her upgrade the diamond anytime we wanted. When I gave the ring to my girlfriend, she was speechless! Rest assure D geller will be seeing me back for all my shopping needs. Now my fiancee goes to clean her ring there almost once a week there and she gets compliments from everybody. Thank you D. Geller

I was a repeat customer of Shane Co. and my wife wanted a Tanzanite ring for our anniversary. I went to Shane and they tried to talk me out of it. I didn't want a sapphire-my wife wanted a TANZANITE! Anyway I went to Geller on Pleasant Hill road and I met a Gemologist named Deena who said not only could she get any size that I wanted, but she could custom make a setting for it as well. The ring was beautiful, my wife was happy, and I will now always shop with Deena. Shane co lost a $8000 sale.

Its true when you walk into D Geller and Son it does not have a chandelier like most jewelry stores but they treat you better than most places. I worked with a lady named Erica and she was great. It was a low key experience. Maybe not frilly but they sure did save me a lot of money and got me a fabulous ring which by the way my new fiance loves. So thank you D Geller and Son. I will be back for Christmas.

Buyer Beware. The only way to describe the look and feel of this place is "Pawn Shop". It is old, dirty, and not inviting at all. I personally feel that your store says alot about your inventory, and this store says CHEAP!

I knew exactly what ring I wanted. I had researched it online before I even went to any stores. Then I decided to visit the jewelery stores to get prices from each. I told the sales woman I just wanted a price on the ring. She said she would be right back and went and got the owner. He said he could take $500 off the ring if I bought it right then. I told him I wasnt interested in negotiating with him right now, I just wanted to know the sticker price of the ring (it was missing). He then proceeded to talk down to me and yell at me on how I shouldnt be price shopping. My wife and I turned around and walked out.

They may offer to take large amounts of money off the price of the ring, but it is still a rip off. I found the exact same setting at Jared and Solomon Bros., except alot better quality, for about $1,200 cheaper then the sticker price of the ring D Geller.

I would never even drive within a 1 mile radius of this place.

I went a few months ago, just to look and had a great time, yes the price did get cut a little, but no one was pushy, they were busy but took the time to let us know, and then when it was our turn, they were very patient and kind, i will be going back. up until now, reading all the reviews i have never heard anything bad about this place. so im not sure if you all were just not patient or in bad mood, but i enjoyed my experience,

Buyers BEWARE D Geller & Son Jewelers, especially if you are not comfortable around high pressure sales people (myself included). I went into D. Geller a few weeks ago while shopping for a ring. The atmosphere reminded me of a pawn shop and made me feel uncomfortable. Granted, that is not the reason to buy a ring so I shrugged it off and met the salesperson. She was very friendly and attentive at first as I explained what I was looking for. She then went to the back to match a loose diamond with the band I had selected. She brought out a diamond with noticeable inclusions and a yellowish color. I was not impressed but she continued to push about what a great value it was. I thanked her but said i was not interested in buying today. Without blinking, she dropped $700 on the diamond price and told me she would throw in the band ($800) if I bought both right now, that second. She also explained how the price of gold is going up so I better act now!!! It sounded like an infomercial. I explained to her that I did not have the money with me and I was not going to use a credit card, so if I could just get her card I would let her know. Every explanation fell on deaf ears. FInally after an hour the ol' switch occured.

The sales manager appeared. Again, the sales manager was very friendly. I explained I was really just looking. He went back and brought out a much more expensive diamond. It was nicer with a higher price tag ($8,000). However, all the diamonds I was being shown were uncertified. He explained that certification was worthless, which for my peace of mind I just don't agree with. I told him I was not interested in buying today. In a blink, he had reduced the price of the diamond to $3800 + throwing in the band. I'm thinking, how much markup do they put on their diamonds if they can still make a profit with a 50%+ price reduction! He asked me if I had looked other places, which I had. He then proceeded to make fun of all the other jewelers I had visited. After about 3 hours of schmoozing and price reduction, he actually convinced me I was getting a stellar deal. I ended up putting down a very small deposit (less than $100) on the nicer ring. As soon as I walked out I felt uncomfortable about the situation. When I tried to email the sales manager that weekend, his email address didn't work. Also I found out there is a NO REFUND policy on all jewelry. If you are so confident about your price, size, and selection, why can't something be returned. Needless to say, I went to another jeweler, actually found a BETTER deal on a certified ring, and the whole deal was handled professionally. I lost my small deposit, but honestly it was a small price to pay for piece of mind. My fiancee loves her ring! Only go to D. Geller if you are ready to buy and don't leave until the price has at least gone down 50% because the markup has to be extremely high...

Long story short, avoid the high pressure sales. Check out a classy operation such as H & A, Solomon Brothers, Shane Co., or Jarrett. All were much more professional when I visited them...

Why would anyone go to this place? They make fun of personal traits of other Jewelers in their radio commercials. Such as making fun of the Shane Co. man's voice and such. This is childish and tasteless. They even make fun of their competition in their stores... It's like the owners have told their employee's "Make fun of our competition as much as possible and poke fun at their personal traits too, not just their businesses." They know no shame and their business practices show that. Would you trust this place?

I just took my D Gellar ring to another jeweler to be fixed after the prong broke and they told me several things were done wrong. First, it looked like the setting had previous work done on it, and the ring was even set crooked, along with several other things done wrong! I regret my decision to get my engagement ring from D Gellar!

I could not help but read the reviews about this company.. wow! There are some pretty bad reviews on here. My experience was pretty good. They where a little pushy in making a sale BUT, they made the perfect recommendation that I bought. I have nothing negative to say about my experience at this store. I love what I bought...

I went to see this place today and did not expect to buy anything. Just because of the reviews I have seen on various sites. I hear them on the radio along with the shane dude all the time claiming to have the best deals in town.. Well truth be known, I didn't have a bad time at all. They where helpful and nice and where not all up in my business. Yup.. I did it. I bought something there... and my wife loves it! Prices... well something nice isn't cheap.

Don't believe what the salespeople at this store tell you - it is overpriced. Even when they offer a large discount off the sticker price, it is still above what you would pay at other stores. Return policy is the worst in the business.

I've recently come to know a woman who has a similar testimony about this establishment as many of you. And by "you", I mean those with the negative experiences - the positive testimonies are fabricated - I've surfed the web long enough to know. It's obvious the store is creating those to counter the negative press.

I'm astonished that so many of you feel helpless. I see no reason why a group of you couldn't get together and sue them - you should be able to save money if there are more of you sharing the cost of an attorney. I've dealt with the courts long enough to know this, few absolutes exist in the law. Businesses don't win when this many customers consistently say they have been harrassed and taken advantage of. You should seek punitive damages as well since they are seemingly injuring the residents of Georgia. That stuff plays well in the courts too. Good luck everyone and stop being scared of these creeps. Life's too short.

My husband purchased an absolutely beautiful band for me at a small jewelry shop in Dahlonega (of all places). The diamonds in it were really lovely. After hearing all of the commercials for D Geller & Son, he decided to go there for the center stone. Well, what should have been a truly exquisite engagement ring turned into an embarrassment. The center stone they sold him was so yellowed, so obviously of a lesser quality that it was actually visible to the naked eye. Since this was my husband's first single diamond purchase, he was clueless when the clerk invited him to look through the loupe. He had no idea what he was looking for and thus, completely missed the horrendous flaw in the diamond. I fault D. Geller for trying to make a hasty sale to a novice purchaser and totally RUINING what should have been a beautiful 2 carat engagement ring. The other reviews are correct. The staff is terribly dressed; the place looks (and acts) like a flea market and it might as well be a timeshare boiler room in the way they try to hard sell you on a purchase. I can't stand my ring and look forward to the day we can upgrade it to something that actually looks like a diamond instead of a dirty stone.

I had been shopping forever and had went to every jeweler in the city. I final decided to go to D.Geller and son. When I went in I was greeted by a nice young lady that was very professional and helpful. She took alot of time in finding the ring that I had described to her and explained all the aspects about the ring. After to going thru all of that one of the managers came out and began to speak to me about purchasing the ring, I explained that I had found a ring that was similar size, color and clarity at a cheaper price, I could tell that he was a little bit surprised(at this point in my shopping I've seen so much that I probably know more about than must) After going back and forth a few times we settled on a price that was about 20% less than everybody else. Now I don't think I'm great negotiator or maybe he didn't realize what he had but I came out way better than I could have ever expected and to top it all off they mounted it while I waited.

My fiance' and I went to D Geller for my engagement ring and we were suckered into what we thought was a great ring. The ring that they showed us was beautiful; however the ring that I went home with had a major flaw in the center of it and did not look like the ring that we thought we bought. I was embarrassed to show off my engagement ring. My suggestion is to do your research ahead of time. I would never shop at this establishment again nor would I recommend it.
