Walton Waller is a real joke!
I do not recommend anyone to take a pet that they love to this man. I cannot believe that he is in business. My dog would be dead today if I would not have taken him to another vet after his botched surgery from this uncaring so-called vet.
If you love your pet do not do business at Abundant Animal Care!!

I had another post I put on here and deleted because i don't like bashing people even when they are not doing right, I will let God be the Judge of what happened!! I don't understand how they can treat customers the way they do and sleep at night.

Dr. Waller is so over the top good. If you want a caring animal doctor, he is you man. When your pet cant tell the doc whats wrong, his insights and skill make him awesome. He has cared for our dogs and cats with true dedication. I think he is the best!
In closing, ignore the people who call names, they know no happiness.

ABSOLUTELY the WORST vet ever. My 13 year old dachshound passed away 3 months after he had surgery at this place. The sad part is... it was elective. He had a very large fatty bump on his hip and we thought "it would look better" to have it taken off. Big mistake. This doctor butchered my fur boy. Ended up at another Vet in Towne Lake (Animal Hospital of Towne Lake - AWESOME). As another reviewer stated Abundant Care used staples instead of stitches. My dog became septic with infection running throughout his body. This Dr. Waller was rude, uncaring and the most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. Please do not take your animal here. Yes the prices are good - there's a reason. DO NOT GO HERE. He also is the Vet for many Pet stores DO NOT USE HIM AND BOYCOTT THOSE THAT DO. I never went back, never talked to him and truly never wish to see him again.

Took my GSD MAX there for a neuter. My hubby likes to save a penny,.When I stopped in to make an appointment I was taken back with the odor, Not a vet I have ever seen before. But I said to myself,"Okay they have to know what they are doing". The ladies behind the counter ignored me.. (Why did I not run then)Asking about the surgery finally I was told on Fridays its 75.00 all other days 95.00 Why is that I asked? No anwer that made any sense. She told me the procedure and the fact they would give us Antibiotic and tremadol for pain for Max upon leaving. She said do you want to make an appointment. Right away the word NO came out of my mouth.. then I thought about my husband (Give him a break and listen to him be a good wife) SO I said ok Lets make th e appointment. What a freakin mistake. PLEASE there are other lower cost places that you can bring your animals for neutering. HE had this done on Friday by Monday after work I came home to Max's Scrotum looking a bit bigger than the size of a softball. Unbeleivable My son said we got to go to emergency now. I called Abundant got the WM if emergency go to blah blah blah this was in Jasper. We went and so happy we did. WHat a wonderful wonderful Dr. Anyway he used the word "arcaic" while looking at his staples" I brought the medicines the other vet gave me. When he saw the antibiotic he stated.. "Well this medicine is from the 1980's"... Upon the Doc checking my beautiful 5 year old baby MAX he said it looks like an infection, He was given 2 shots, new meds So instead of costing my hubby 75.00 it cost him 170.00 for emergency and the 75.00 for the procedure. I called and complained to Dr. Waller the woman I spoke to said "He is very old school and no one has ever complained before." WOW what a lie that is. THey say he curses at his customers. To bad I did not get to meet him Because this woman wouldnt take any crap from someone that put animals in harms way. I will go back to Jasper to have Max's Walmart Staples out in a couple of weeks. I so wish I would of looked up this place before allowing our Max to be touched by this Dr.

Truly, one of the worst Vet's I have ever come across. This man has no professional morals, is a poor vet, doesn't seem to know how to deal with customers. After picking up our pup, the work was pathetic at best. I'm guessing he applied the staples via a $2 staple gun from Walmart. Oh, he will also find other 'work' to do, perform said work and tack it on the bill. Do not call expecting a real estimate. We wound up taking our dog to another high quality vet who informed us of the shoddy work Mr. (can't call him a Doctor) Walton had performed. Last, but not least, when I called him in the midst of the minor surgery being performed, he cursed me for questioning the additional charges. Needless to say, I lost my temper and cursed him back, but I shouldn't have. What I will do is to take this to the AG of the state and look at having his license revoked. Please, beware of this man, he is truly a poor vet.

you know what we like about Dr. Waller? no bullsh*t. he doesn't cater to midtown sensibilities where ppl bring their dogs in in Italian leather 'purses' and feed them ribeyes every night. he's a country vet who appeals to regular joes like us. we love the animals that live with us and they are an indispensible part of our family. it is worth the 25 mile trip to Dr. Waller's office because I don't have to listen to some slicked-up, 22 year old wearing crispy white scrubs tell me it's going to be $428.00 to spay my schnauzer...not including pain meds and antibiotic.
yes, the office actually looks like animals are treated there. Dr. Waller comes in in jeans and talks to you like a real person rather than a walking, talking debit card. trust me, if your dog is in a purse right now rather than the back of the truck, and it smells like Chanel No. 5 instead of ass (as most happy, country dogs do) you might not enjoy your visit. but if you're down-to-earth yourself, you'll like it...and you'll go back just like we do.
:)

I called my regular vet and asked how much it would cost for a dental for my beagle. They were running a special, $225.00. He's two, in good health and really? That much, ok I'll wait.

A few days later I was having lunch with my mother and saw one of those tidbit newspapers. Lo and behold there was an ad for dental cleanings $75.00. (Background: Hubby lost his job in the 2008 meltdown and is now making a fraction that he used to. I lost my job last summer.) Wow, I made the appointment, my beagle had his teeth cleaned, his pearly whites are looking great. I also had his rabies and distemper shots done for $20.00 and they threw in a nail trim for no charge? (My previous vet would charge $18)

I had aquired a foster dog that needed to be neutered and decided to bring him to this clinic. He also needed his rabies shot to be done to get him ready for adoption. No surprises with the neuter, same process I've been through with previous animals. It's a pretty routine surgery. I was pleased to find out that pain meds and antibiotics were included...am I dreaming?

Needless to say, I will be using this vet from now on for my own animals and any fosters I aquire. It's not just about the money, but I'd be lying if I said cost doesn't matter. Over the years I've been to many vets and the "you get what you pay for" doesn't always apply. I was very satisfied with the service there and I've owned dogs and cats of my own for 30 years, so I've been to a few places....

The building isn't a fancy glass and marble facility, but if that's what you're into there's plenty of other vets with fancy interior finishes that like to charge more because their overhead is higher. Truthfully, my dogs didn't notice the decor, they just wanted to get the hell out of there when it was time to leave.

I was referred to ACAH in Dec. 2008, I have 3 Cats & 3 Dogs. This is the BEST Vet in Ga. I commute from Gwinette County to bring my pets to Dr.W. & his staff. My pets TRUST him!!! My very skittish dog loves him. I can't afford any vet yet ACAH works payments for me and makes this affordable! My 11 yr dog had 8 teeth pulled, I called closer vets to get a whooping $1200.00 for 4 teeth+meds. Dr.W. cost me under $300. with meds., I have had to contact him for phone consults and everyone in the office has been a valuable asset & comfort to me. My family & friends now take their pets to him, we all agree Abundant Care is for our pets best wellness because it is about them, not people or money!! This Establishment really CARES about extended family members!!

I read all of the negative reviews before we took our dog over to Abundant Animal Care. We live so close and our dog was feeling so bad, we took him there any way. I am very pleased with the care that they gave our dog. It was scary what to expect the blood work to tell us. Doc was understanding that we did not have any extra money, but needed to take care of our dog. Doc only did what was needed and it was cheaper then we expected. Our dog is doing great thanks to them. Doc was very personable with us and comforted us that he will be fine. We took him back for his follow up and the Doc went right for him. I would not go anywhere else for my pets.

I am very unhappy with the staff and the vet at Abundant!!! I took my dog in to be neutered, and ended up spending more money when I had to take him to the emergency vet a week later. Although I gave my dog all the meds they gave me, kept him as calm as possible, used an e-collar, and did exactly as they said....my dog still ended up with a bad infection due to the stiching being way too tight, and an infected scrotum that was peeling. I took him back to the vet after the emergency visit, and was treated horribly! I spoke with Dr Waller about what was going on, and he talked down to me and cursed at me right infront of other people. Needless to say, I am taking my dog elsewhere to have his stitches removed. I went to another vet to have him checked again because of the continued issues my dog was having, and the vet told me he has never seen a dogs scrotum look that way after a neuter! Please, take heed when taking your animal here. I DO NOT recommend him at all!!!

I recently took my 1yr old cat Pita to this office to get his yearly vaccines. I also took along a stray cat (Cash) along to get vaccinated. Dr. Waller and his staff was very polite and answered all questions I asked. I was impressed by Dr. Waller's laid back personality and the fact he had no problem being the person that took your pets to the back for the vaccines. He even took the time to look over the stray cat to ensure the well-being of my other animals.
While I would agree that the outside of the building was a slight surprise, the interior office is not posh, and that the Dr. does not dress to impress. One may want to consider that the Dr. just may run this business because he just really cares about the animals he services.
I actually enjoyed his small office. It had a small country feel and while I was in the waiting room he and his staff greeted clients by first name which to me indicates that they are RETURN clients. My previous vet experience has been through Banfield (10 yr history) who I paid 68.00 a month for 2 pets. They never could handle emergencies and always referred me to an emergency clinic where it would always cost me 1000-3000 for a simple case of dehydration.
I would suggest you visit the clinic before forming an opinion. While it is not shiny or new it is in my opinion an animal clinic that is filled with a professional staff and vet that genuinely cares for their clients.

I have worked in many diff animal hospitals all over north ga. And by far i think Dr. Waller is the most caring and innovative and best doctor around! True he may not have the best people skills but he isnt working on you now is he. The animals love him. Dont judge his skills by the building he uses. If you think its bad try taking tour of the animal hospitals in alpharetta, canton and woodstock. They are bad if not worse. I have helped with many diff DR's and all say the same thing that the after care is crutial in the recovery of the animal.! Some just dont understand this.

My family has used doc Waller for 15 years. He is the most reasonable vet in canton price-wise, he's fundamentally logical when it comes to animal care, and he and his staff have a sense of humor when it comes to pets.

The sense of humor is what resonates most with me as a pet owner. Come on now, who has ever owned a pet that didnt make them laugh in one way or another while doing this or that. Why wouldn't i want a vets office that will laugh with me?

I have read the reviews posted for this clinic and I think there is one thing that review readers must keep in mind. Every pet and every pet owner are different. If the pet owner is nervous or uncomfortable in a situation . . . . so will be the animal.

I do recommend doc Waller to anyone that requires pet care in the area. He's been with my family through 12 different pets and their care. That's 4 dogs and 8 cats -- the most recent of which i adopted for free from his clinic while visiting a sick relative cat that was rehabilitating there.

He's treated emergencies such as the 'unfortunate chicken wing incident' of 1997 -- the cat lived, 'the honks' -- my mom collects small dogs. . . the honks happen, then there was the 'O MY GOD something attacked my cats backside' (i think it was a coyote) 18 inches of wire sutures, 2 weeks, and plenty o kitty prosac -- cat lived, and finally the most recent 'please spay me now i'm driving my mom crazy' -- if you've ever had a female cat go into heat you know how much of an emergency this can be.

ANYWAY . . . . Everybody lived, unless it was their time in which case they didn't but hey that's life -- there's a birth and a death and we all have some say in between. If Waller is a fit for you, great, if not there are plenty of other places to try. I've personally not had a bad experience.

My friend from the ball field recommended this clinic. I have an appointment in June. When I called today I found the receptionist to be very nice and helpful. My friend had her female fixed and had no complaints and takes all of her animals here. I am hoping for the same satisfied experience. I am very impressed with their prices. I will post after my visit.

Two paws up for Dr. Waller!!! In 2007, I adopted a stray dog from animal rescue. My little guy had a rough start in life and subsequently had a lot of trust issues. Every vet I went to seemingly could not or would not deal with my dog's fearfulness and aggression with strangers. Some even told me not to bring my dog back! Thank God for Dr. Waller!! He took a no-nonsense approach with my little guy and took matters well into hand and had no problems at all with my dog's issues. Dr. Waller truly has a great understanding of animals and the best way to effectively deal with their individual needs. Today, my little dog is a healthy and happy member of my family. I've been going to Dr.Waller for more than two years and I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone. He truly cares more about serving the needs of our pets than making profits!! We need more people like Dr. Waller in this world!!!

I have to admit that reading some of the reviews would give me caution in taking my pets to Abundant Animal Care. But I have had my own experiences in business and reading discouraging reviews from disgruntled patrons that were definitely slanted if not out right lies.

My wife and I have four dogs, one Male Lab and three Shih-poo females. We took our three pups in for spaying and were very pleased with the tender, loving, kind treatment and care that our pets received.

The procedures were well done and the information from the staff concerning our home care of the pups was professional & concise. The staff was able to answer all of my questions concerning the pain relievers and antibiotics and how to give them. We were instructed when to bring the pups back to have the stitches removed.

I was referred to this clinic because we could not afford the $450.00 - $650.00 that others were charging to spay our pups. We all know the Old saying - "You get what you pay for" Well I have learned that money does not guarantee professional caring treatment for ourselves as well as our pets. Money does not guarantee knowledge or a caring heart.

I am a dedicated person and a few of these reviews have literally angered me. I will continue to take my pets to Abundant Animal Care for all of their veterinarian and grooming needs. I wish to express my heart felt thanks to the staff of the Abundant Animal Care facility for their loving handling and affordable care of my pets.

We found Dr. Waller a few years ago. His prices were the best. When my dog Scruffy got sick, had blood all over the floor and couldn't move his rear end to walk. I called Dr. Waller and he said to bring him in. Thinking my dog was on his last leg, Dr. Waller told me he would take good care of him. And he did. Four days later I took my dog home heathy. He recommended a diet and follow up if i see anymore signs of sickness. His prices were very reasonable and his staff is the best. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. His boarding prices are reasonable as well. You should check him out.

A PLACE THAT HAS NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON!

I took my 8 month old puppy in b/c he was vomiting and not eating. He was put on ivs and oral meds. After 6 days of this treatment the staff decided to do a mineral enema and got it all over him and got feces all over him and didnt wash him off. Dr. Waller finally decided to do an xray and discovered my dog had a blockage in his intestines. I never got a call saying they needed to do an xray and I had to call the office everyday to check on my dog even after I asked them to call me if anything changed.

Dr. Waller said he would have to do surgery to see what the blockage was and remove it. I asked if he would be able to make it through surgery b/c he was not eating and had already had 1 blood transfusion and I was told " oh yes he is fine except for not eating, there is no doubt he will be ok to have surgery done and come out of it ok." That was from his girlfriend Monica. I spoke to the Dr. and asked him the same question and all he said was " what choice does he or you have?" He was so rude and has no people skills at all. I then spoke to Monica right as the surgery was starting and she told me to hold on the line while she ran back to see exactly what the blockage was, well I sat on hold for 20 minutes and finally hung up. I called back several hours later and Monica said he is doing fine, dr. waller just closed him up and he is in recovery. I asked what was done during the surgery and she told me there was a rock stuck in his intestines, they removed it along with 4 for 5 feet of intestines.

That night my family went to see santa and we got home around 9pm. My husband informed me as I walked in th door that my puppy had died. He recieved another blood transfusion due to loosing so much blood during surgery and he started going downhill so dr. waller opened him up again and removed more intestine and lost more blood and died on the table.

So, I recieved a call to come there and pick up my dogs body, and when I got there no one was there. I tried caling and calling and got no answer. When I finally got there the next day to pick him up I let them know exactly how I felt and Dr. waller looked like he wanted to explode. He used the excuse that there was a money issue on our end as to why he waited so long to do xrays, which was not the problem at all. I just wanted to make sure that if he did the surgery then my dog would come out of it and live before I paid him .

COMMON SENSE-MY DOG WAS TOO WEAK FROM THE FIRST SUGERY, WHY OPEN HIM UP IMMEDIATELY UPON CLOSING HIM AND TRY AGAIN? THE XRAY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE WHEN WE FIRST BROUGHT MY DOG IN THE OFFICE AND HE WOULD HAVE LIVED. I GOT NO ANSWERS FROM THE INCOMPETENT GIRLS THAT WORK THERE. ALL THEY KNOW HOW TO SAY IS "I DONT KNOW" OR "OH YES YOUR PET IS DOING FINE" WHEN REALLY IT ISN'T! DR. WALLER IS RUDE AND HAS NO COMMON SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO ANIMALS. HE HAS NO PEOPLE SKILLS AND I HAVE LIVED RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE OFFICE THAT HAS CHANGED NAMES AT LEAST 2 OR 3 TIMES. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE!

I have used Dr. Waller for many surgical procedures, with the some result every time ....Outstanding. As a pro breeder I have visited and used many Vets in the past 25 years, Dr. Waller is the best, he is dedicated to the health and well being of my animals. The success of a breeder of bulldog breeds depends on the ability of the doctor to preform C-Section procedure with as little stress and discomfort to the momma as possible and also in some cases resuscitate the newborns. Dr. Waller has saved me lots of money and delivered many baby bulldogs. He has the highest success rate for me of any Vet. in this area of delivering and send me home with healthy live puppies .

I have read every post on this site and have to say that I agree with Dr. Waller that no good deed goes unpunished...I have 2 rescue Lab crosses from Pickens county animal rescue. Durring the spring, on a Saturday, they developed severe symptoms of PARVO. I rushed them to the Emergency Vet Service in Woodstock and had to leave them there. The next morning the vets at the emergency service didn't hold out much hope for the pups...I called a friend of mine and she recomended Dr. Waller, I called and he called right back and told me to bring them right away, After I paid the emergency vet their ransom $1400+ dollars for less than 20 hours of service, I took them to Dr. Waller who waited for me to show up after his regular hours...He took the pups right in and treated them with my children and I looking on...he was more than kind to both the pups and my children and explained what he was doing as he did it, yes, he definately has a way and a knack about him...he has great sucess treating PARVO which is almost allways fatal for puppies. My pups are healthy, happy and still here thanks to the doc. He kept them for 8 days and charged me less than one dog would have cost me for the service...He even stayed overnight with them...I rescue animals and currently have over 40 animals in my care, I have never seen a vet more dedicated to the welfare of any animal than Dr. Waller is!!! Thank You Doctor!!!

I took my pets -both cats & a dog- to Dr. Waller for many years until we moved away. His practice may look modest, but Dr. Waller is one of the finest vets and men I've ever met. We've had multiple surgeries performed by him-including a procedure on our male cat to make his urethra bigger so he wouldn't get blocked from urinary crystals anymore. Dr. Waller charged us much less than any other vet quoted for that delicate and complicated surgery, yet the level of care was excellent. My elderly cat-who won't even let me pick her up-let Dr Waller hold her! He was so amazing with her. He really cares about animals and making their lives better.

If you love your animals, do not use Dr. Waller. The operation is the worst I have ever seen for animal care. The place is filthy and they have horrible service. They give you instructions for return visits to remove stitches and when you show up after driving 50 miles they tell you it's too soon and to come back in a few days anytime before 6. When you go back before 6 Dr. Waller doesn't even look up from his computer to tell you that you can try to take the stitches and staples out yourself if you want to because they are closed on Wed. after 12. The last time I was there he pulled a growth off a puppy in the waiting room and he started bleeding so bad he told the guy he would keep him overnight and to come back in the morning to pick him up. I was horrified. I will take my dog to another vet and pay to have the stitches and staples removed. I will tell everyone I know about this experience.

We also drive 30 minutes to see Dr. Waller because he cares more about our animals' needs than how expensive his offices look or having lots of office staff. I agree that this is a difference between "city vets" and "country vets."

We first met Dr. Waller a few years ago when he spayed a kitten we had adopted (he does this free for several pet adoption groups.) He's very informal (he usually wears a colorful tropical shirt, not a doctor's jacket) so I thought he was a vet tech. He brought our cat out and gave me an update and I asked if I could speak to "the Vet." I'm used to vet techs taking us back to an office and waiting 20 minutes for the vet to come in!

Since we live 30 miles away, we continued to use our local vet to save gas and travel time.

When our lab almost died of liver disease last summer (2008), we spent $2000+ with our local vet and Georgia Vet Services (GVS) in Dunwoody to save her. She's on multiple medications (plus insulin because she's now diabetic also) but her fur hadn't grown back from all the places she had been shaved for treatments and IVs. We decided to go back to Dr. Waller because we had liked him and knew he was much less expensive than our local vet. Dr. Waller suggested we NOT do some expensive tests (that GVS had been routinely doing) until we tried an alternative treatment, based on his veterinary knowledge and experience. He recommended we give her Milkweed Thistle and her fur has completely returned. If it hadn't worked, we could then do the tests... as it was, we saved a lot of money.

I have noticed that Dr. Waller and his staff expect us to use common sense and ask questions more than our other vets. They didn't give us instructions about coming back for staple removal after our last cat was spayed - but we knew it needed to be done! They gave us pain meds because we live so far away but I've heard them say to other clients who live nearby that if they need some, just come back in. They are efficient and don't spend their time (and our money!) doing unnecessary things!

He does have minimal office staff and I've had to follow up to get a prescription called in to a pharmacy. But then again, I didn't have to leave a message by 11 am to get same day attention.

I don't think most service providers are "one size fits all." It's our responsibility to recognize what OUR needs and priorities are and find service providers who match what we want. Obviously Dr. Waller doesn't match some people's expectations or needs (and I don't think that really bothers him!) It's better for all involved if those who don't like his style find another vet who does.

I don't think some of the people that has written some of these negative reviews met the Dr. Waller and staff that I did. I think that he is a wonderful man. A few years ago my two Poms got very sick. I begged every vet in Canton to help me because I had no money. I called Dr. Waller's office and spoke to him, he said "Bring those animals right away, I will treat now and we will worry about the money later". They were given medicine, shots, etc. He saved my dogs lives and I am very grateful to him and his love of animals. He performed a spay on one of my other Poms and could not be more pleased with the results. Dr. Waller and his staff are wonderful, caring, and loving people. I would not take my dogs to anyone else but him. I would highly recommend this vet.

First I would like to thank Dr. Waller and the staff for the excellent care and dedication they provide for our animals. Dr. Waller has always been there for me and his staff has been more then kind to me and my dogs.
I LOVE the fact that Dr. Waller uses staples after a spay. A breeder friend of mine had her dog spayed and cat gut was used internal and external and the dog had a severe allergic reaction and was a nightmare for her. I feel very good when I know staples are being used and every incision has healed perfect!!
I have recommended Dr. Waller and his staff to all of my breeder friends and will continue to support him and his practice in any way that I can.
Thank you again Dr. Waller for your dedication and skill to all of the animals that you see day after day!
I look forward to seeing you again with my little white dogs.

I found out about Abundant Animal Care in a local newspaper. We had a 9 mos old puppy who needed neutering, 3 baby teeth pulled, shots and boarding. I read all the reviews, and decided to make my own determination. I knew I would be able to tell by my instincts when I walked in. The office was not fancy-but clean and homey feeling. The Staff was very helpful, and when I asked to see where they would board him-they gladly invited me back to see his kennel. They told me the schedule of what his typical day would be like, and we left him there with his toys-feeling completely comfortable in our decision. We were told to call anytime, and as often as we liked to check on him. They did everything we discussed-and when I picked him up he was happy, full of energy and his incision looked great. They send me home with antibiotics (that good pink amoxicillan-he LOVED it!), and pain meds too-at no extra charge. What they charged me was a bout 1/3 of what I've paid for less services at other Woodstock vets. You should go there, meet him and his staff and form your own opinion, instead of letting others make that decision for you. And for the record-His license is valid! Also-they did use metal stitches-but they have healed up great-and my pet hasn't tried to lick them at all!

Doc Waller has been our vet for about 4 years now. My chihuahuas (Tink and Odie) are well taken care of. I drive 30 minutes one way to take my babies to see him since we've moved, and it's worth it to know they are in good hands.

Recently, our new lab puppy Luna was sick no matter what food we fed her. After the Doc suggested rice and turkey, Luna got much better.

I've never had a better vet!

My husband and I recently took a stray pregnant neighborhood cat in to Dr. Waller. My husband was quite impressed by the staff's caring nature. It was really inexpensive to help this cat out. If we had gone anywhere else it would have been at least 300 dollars. It is not the fanciest place but the doctor was very informed and very caring. We have six animals of our own and are thinking we will begin taking them to Dr. Waller.

As a pet owner you should check out the clinics before you allow them to treat your animals. When we went to look at this vet, the office was filthy. I understand when you have animals in a clinic off and on all day, things may tend to get dirty, but there shouldn't be dirty bandages and clumps of hair all over the floors.

I have not been to this vet clinic, but have worked for several vet practices. First for Sabrina as well as for Jennifer.

A vet goes by his license #. They can change the name of a practice as many times as they want, but it is the license that is the key. You made the claim that he doesn't even have a valid license. Take the time to go to the State of GA Secretary of State and do a search.

He does indeed have a license and has not received any type of discipline. It was issued in 5/1993 and is due to expire next year. Before making outrageous claims, do a little research. Had there been any complaints/actions taken against him, they would have showed up no matter how 'old' they were.

Many vets have used metal sutures - why? Because they act as a deterrent against the dog/cat licking the site area. It doesn't always work. I had a dog that it didn't make a difference and finally had to resort to the bulky collar. There is always going to be a bit of red around a suture site no matter what is used. They should have at least told you to use a little antibiotic ointment. I have seen many types of suture material cause many kinds of irritations - bottom line.

I had two cats spayed at a vet office in Jasper using a spay/neuter voucher. I did not meet the vet prior to their surgery - that is called an office visit and had you wanted to meet the vet then you should have requested one and then you would to have had to pay for it. That's how it is done in spay/neuter clinics to keep YOUR cost down - just the way it is. I've assisted in many of those procedures and know what is involved. The most expensive part is the anesthesia and the post-op care.

Not too long ago it was unheard of to give an owner pain meds for an animal. I had not heard of it until I started working for a vet in Calhoun (I know live in Indiana) about 3 years ago and was extremely surprised. Many country vets still do not follow this practice. Again, helps to keep the cost down and I really feel it is more for an owner's comfort than the animals. I've had many pets over the years and have had them spayed or neutered and after the first day they were always fine and ready to run and play - or lick at those annoying things in their stomach or private part!

I have not seen what is given out paperwork prior and after, so I can not really answer on that. However, the minimum post-op is to pull their food/water before. After, make sure the suture area is clean/dry and to keep any eye out for infection and to keep them running and jumping. Make sure the animal is not licking the site also. Pretty simple really. Not to sound mean, but we are talking about animals here, not humans as we are a bit more complex.

Also, it is ridiculous for any one to claim that a vet can look at a dog and tell it has had a food allergy! He was not your regular vet and had not seen your dogs before. Was he suppose to a psychic type thing and just realize? Didn't your own vet have to do tests before coming to this conclusion? Skin problems are not easy to diagnose and can be quite expensive in the long run.

From the sound of it, it sounds that both of you had an attitude before you walked in. I'm sure he probably wanted to run some tests, which you two probably would not let him do. As far as the Deer meat, I had never heard of that one before. I've always heard of food made from lamb products, but again, Dr. Waller sounds more like a country vet. And your wrong about the nutrient value. It is more nutrious than beef and leaner. If your dogs were left to roam (god forbid) and become wild, what do you think they would eat? If they were lucky, they might find a deer carcass, but mostly rabbit, squirrel, peoples trash. Think you should have cut the man some slack on that one!

Don't get me wrong people. I am a very big animal lover. Just currently I own 2 cats, 6 dogs and 4 chickens and I can't tell you all the animals I've owned in the past. Vet bills are not cheap by any means and city vets are far more expensive than country vets. Why? The simple fact is for city people their pets ARE their children. Before you start thinking 'this woman is off her rocker' just stop to think about it logically. You don't see a person that lives in the country dressing their dogs up. They may have a special bed for their four legged companion and they are a part of their family, just not the way a person that lives in the city.

All vet's make mistakes at one point in time, but it honestly does not sound like this guy is a quack like many of you here have made him out to be. For those of you that have complained about the before and after paperwork, do me a favor and ask your own vets for their instructions. I'll just be willing to bet they are not going to be much different than what you received.

If you want to pay outrageous vet bills then stick to your city vets. If you want low cost vet bills, then see an ole country vet!

I am very disappointed with the service I received here with Dr. Waller and staff. Not only was his staff uneducated and unhelpful, but they gave me wrong information and did not provide me with all the medications that I was promised. I had to request to meet the doctor prior to surgery. We were a new patient and they knew nothing about my dog, and then just tried to take him to the back and told me to pick up later. I was given one sheet of post-op care that did not contain much information, and NO ONE came out to talk to me. Just the dumb receptionist who gave me antibiotics and no pain meds. I had to make an extra trip back to get pain meds for my dog after the receptionist told me he would not need them. Not only that, but no one offered me the laser surgery that they apparently offer or I would have gone with that over the traditional way. I am overall displeased and will be taking to another vet for a check up today.

Low cost procedure = low quality service

I had my cat spayed recently by Dr. Waller. His price was UNUSUALLY lower than that of my own, who at the time, I couldn't afford. Acutally, his price was unusually lower than numerous local vets I had checked out when finding him.

I love my vet and felt just terrible about not going to him--but money was definitely a consideration at the time. I admit that I made a significant error in judgement, to say the least... ...one that I will not make again.

Well--you certainly do get what you pay for, as they say. Within two days my cat developed a relatively bad infection at the suture site and upon examination, it was discovered that the method of spaying, the suturing itself, the type of sutures used, and the follow-up drug treatment protocol were all not within good standard practice of care. My vet was successful at being professional and diplomatic, but I could immediately tell that he had known both "Abundant Animal Care" (as well as the other names that it had gone by in prior days) and Dr. Waller and did not want to speak negatively. But his concern and reservations were obvious in his eyes and demeanor.

In addition, my husband was given very little post-op discharge information when he picked up our cat. So I called to ask some questions and was met with was indifference. It was very unsettling.

I too, as another reviewer mentioned in her reivew, have discovered through research that this doctor of veterinary medicine has had a number of mal-practice issues. And has changed the name of his practice numerous times. Again, I applaud my vet for remaining professional and not saying anything negative about Dr. Waller or his practice.

Look, I generally do not share such negative observations, and receive no satisfaction from doing so, but feel the need to do so in this case. There is a reason some charge far less than others. Please do your homework when having your pet put in the hands of a "professional". At the very least--BEWARE.

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my two dogs here because they both had some skin problems and they were the only Animal Hospital around that was open on Sunday. One of my dogs had quarter size welts that were bleeding and we felt that it was neccessary to go and get it treated immediatly. As soon as we pulled in the parking lot we felt uneasy because it was a run down shack with a school bus in the lot with advertising for the clinic written on the windows and lawn mowers in the back...but again it was the only place close by open on Sunday. We walked in only to see that it was no better inside. There were clumps of dog hair on the floor and everything about it was unsanitary and unprofessional. The doctor came out in jeans and a hawaiian shirt and asked us what was wrong with our dogs...he didn't put us in a room first and made us pull the hair back to show him, after that he never touched them again. Finally, we went to a room and the "Doctor" did a skin scrape which came back with nothing on it. We told him that the dogs had some food allergies in the past and he said "I wish you had told me that before" HE IS THE DOCTOR...WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO TELL HIM THAT BEFORE, THAT IS WHY WE ARE COMING HERE! So after that he tells us to take both our dogs off DOG food and to only feed them deer meat, and to tell him if we didn't know anyone that went hunting and he could find us someone?!?! First of all dog food would be non existant if dogs didn't need it, secondly deer meat doesn't have all the nutrients and vitamins that dogs need to survive. Then he gave us a knock-off brand of flea and tick medicine to give our dogs for their skin (food) allergies. We thought that was ridiculous and I spoke up and said I did not feel comfortable with the whole situation. They ignored my comment and gave me no reassurance. The doctor came back in and we started asking him some more questions because we wanted to understand more about where he was coming from with his theories. All he did was take offense and kept repeating "I've been doing this for 16 years" He could give us no explanations. We both had knots in our stomachs and right as we were leaving we heard the doctor bad-mouthing us to another client in a different room! After we left I called around to some friends that work in the Animal Hospital industry only to find out that the Doctor at Abundant Animal Care has lost his license 3 different times for mal-practice and each time he just changes his name and opens back up. Also, they have apparently established the nickname of "The Chop Shop" because the friend I talked to said the vet she works at has seen many cases of animals that have come in just butchered up from this place. So again just BEWARE and DO NOT take your animals here.

Update- We took our dogs to a REAL vet, and they confirmed that the diagnosis given by "Dr." Waller was wrong. Both of our dogs had bacterial infections WHICH WE ASKED HIM ABOUT SPECIFICALLY and he said it was just food allergies. WRONG!! The new vet gave us proper medicine and sent us happily on our way.

Dr Waller is a wonderful doctor and person! I do animal rescue, and he has spay / neutered a few dogs for me. He truly cares about the animals and the over population that currently exists in GA. He is the only reasonably priced vet in the area, and the best part is his heart is in the right place. He treats many rescue animals and always gives a fair price because he is truly concerned with the welfare of the animals. Thanks for caring and trying to make a difference!

Doc Waller has been our vet for 9 years, seven dogs, a couple of cats, and a pig. Being 55 this year and having owned pets my whole life, I can say that this is the best vet and office that I have ever had the pleasure to use.

The staff truly loves the animals, and all are long-term with the clinic. The Doc treats every animal as if it were his own, and shows a level of compassion that has sustained for 9 years that I have known him. This is run for the benefit of the ANIMALS, and the Doc has made decisions in every case that are oriented to the well-being of the animal, not the financial concerns of the clinic. He has gained our FULL trust over the years.

The Doc has so much experience that he diagnoses very quickly without a lot of needless testing. My wife, daughter, and I highly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Waller did a wonderful job with both of our dogs and his low cost programs show he is clearly in it to help animals. The staff is kind hearted and wonderful to the animals. We were in for one spay and one neuter in two weeks and both dogs came out feeling great. Medication and all included for a very very reasonable price. Came highly recommended by a local person we trust with our dogs and he was right! We will take our other dog in for neuter # 2 soon. We love our pups and have taken them to another local vet that we felt OK with but were extremely overcharged at the end of each visit.

Yeap, I'll agree this office is a bit different than most . It's not as tidy & a little less organized but I LOVE it anyway .
NO STUCK UP , RUDE people here . I've only seen down to earth & caring people .
I LOVE the fact that Dr. Waller hangs out in the front office while wearing his hawaiian shirts & answers the phone or talks to others waiting to pick up their animals when he's got a few minutes of down time . To me that just shows he dosn't think he's better than anyone else there & it give you a chance to REALLY get to know him .
My male puppy just about a month ago got fixed.
Dr. Waller did use the wire suture that someone on here was complaining about and yeah , I was suprised when I First saw them but it ended up being perfectly fine . NO problems at all !! I was also give the antibotics , pain med.s & care sheet that told me ALL I needed to know including a phone number at which to reach him at if needed before leaving .
For there to be several complaints on here I must say everytime I've been at Dr. Wallers office it sure is busy . He must be doing plenty right !!

I first met Doc 10 years ago after another Canton vet peeled me for nearly 1k in vet bills. he came recommended from neighbors, but I was reluctant to change over. then a story about him made the TV. A customer brought in their dog and asked to have it destroyed as it needed surgery they could not afford. Doc ended up providing the surgery for free and saving the animal.

Since then I have had 3 cats and four dogs administered to by Doc. As have many of my friends. He is concerned and caring and knows more about animals than most vets. He was a Major in the Army as a vet and also spent several years in Africa at the Kenyan National Park, tneding to elephants, lions, etc. .

His office is a bit unorthordox but this also serves to keep his overhead low. He provides all meds at COST with no markup (check his costs against PetMeds).

He provides the neuter and spay at a very low cost as well. the other vets in town are not particularly thrilled with him because he refuses to price-fix along with the rest of them.

His business name change was a result of a competitor opening up to become first in the yellow pages. Since Doc operates on a very thin profit margin, advertising is not in the budget. So he changed from Animal Kingdom to Abundant Animal Care.

While his dress may seem a bit unorthodox (yes a hawaiian shirt in summer), I find it refreshing. When I moved to Knoxville I would drive all the way back here to have him doctor my pets.

He has been a guest in my home and i am proud to call him my friend. When we lost our dog of 17 years he met me in the parking lot and sedated him before putting him down. He then hugged me while I cried like a baby in front of God and everyone else.

He often trades treatment for services (carpentry, etc) for those who cannot pay. He is not in this for the money but for his love of animals. And his hours are a bit strange as he has to moonlight with PetSmart to make ends meet. He takes in strays and keeps them until someone adopts.

So until you know what you are talking about please refrain from putting him down because of his appearance or the building he works out of. His equipment is all state of the art.
To those that state that Doc posts this himself. What a crock!!.
