We have used FVAH for many years. You never wait long when you have an appointment. The staff has always been helpful. Once our dog had a severe reaction to lepto vaccine. We ended up having to take her back that evening twice. The vet was gracious and very concerned. She refused payment stating she didn't charge for vaccine reactions!
Took my Cavalier in yesterday who was extremely ill and they took him back to see the vet w/I 5 minutes! They were out shortly telling me what was wrong and had him hooked up to IV to start treatment. Great about updating me on his condition. She is cautiously optimistic. Couldn't ask for more.
Their prices are very reasonable by today's standards so we are able to take good care of all our pets without taking out a loan! Glad she is there!

There need not be any bad reviews for this vets office. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just down to basics and affordable prices. A great country vet, with the welfare of the animals at heart. The only reason for not giving them five stars is, it is a little out of the way, unless you live in Ft. Valley and maybe they are a little over worked and under staffed. Personally though, I haven??t found then any less timely on services than any other higher prices vets office. It??s well worth the extra mileage, if you??re like me and have many little fur balls to care for. Dr. Giles and Dr. Kelly, keep the services professional , and the cost down. Thank you FVAH , from all my four legged children, and my pocket book. Without your caring affordable services, a lot of animal lovers, like myself would find it beyond our ability to meet the needs of our four legged friends in this tough economy. Bottom line.

I inquired with my vet, the cost of spaying my Shih Tzu puppy and was told the surgery, overnight stay and meds would be around $200 -$250. I was referred to FVAH for their low cost spay/neutering. I called them and sure enough it was less than half of what my vet wanted to charge me and my puppy did not have to stay over night. In addition to that, the people there were very friendly and showed a lot of care for my pet. I'm considering bringing my pets there all the time even though it's a little bit of a drive for me. Thank you to the staff at FVAH. You guys are fantastic!

Informative, patient, great folks. They took the time to explain fees and services and that means a lot when you're trying to take care of multiple animals.

I purchased a Shih Tzu puppy that was born at Fort Valley Animal Hospital back in February. I was very impressed with the manner in which they conducted business. A fine staff doing a fine job.

Dr. Giles and staff are always very courteous and caring. My calls to make an appointment are handled in an efficient and professional manner. Dr. Giles, in the past several years, has taken excellent care of my daughter's dog and cat. In the past year she has taken excellent care of my "best friend". She cares about the animals she takes care of, keeps cost in consideration, and is willing to answer questions. After my experience with other local vets, she is a breath of fresh air!

From the first time I met Dr. Giles, I was very impressed. She was holding low cost spay/neuter clinics. Something not many vets do.
She has been my vet for several years now. She still impresses me by her knowledge and she doesn't care if you ask questions. She always answers and if she doesn't know, she doesn't mind looking it up. She has saved several of my cats and dogs - dog snake bitten, cat with a brain problem, stray cat with large wound on its back, etc. She takes kittens, spays/neuters them, and offers them for adoption. The kids are not a distraction. I love to see someone working with their kids around.

The front office people were very rude and when i tried to make an appointment i was on hold for over five minutes. When I ask a question, they get all huffy and smart off. Dr. Giles was not helpful and gave my dog medication she did not need. The treatment was poor and the problem did not go away. Needless to say, even though they are cheap, i will not be returning there.

I have taken my pets to Fort Valley Animal Hospital off and on few a couple years, but I no longer will. The kids running around screaming and crying is unprofessional and annoying, the front desk always takes forever, when I call in to make a appointment and cant take the exact time that they offer me they get snotty and Dr Giles talked to me like an idoit when I asked her to clarify lab results. And to add to it, my dog was suppose to have speciality treatment in Athens to make sure all of the cancer was removed, Dr Giles was suppose to refer us and have Athens contact me, but failed to do so. I consider that very poor ethics on her part and did not appriciate it at all. Yeah, some of the prices are cheaper, but its not worth it to me. I would rather pay more for good service then get treated like crap and not get the proper treatment that my pets deserve.

This small town vet's office is just the place for good quality and prefessional care. there is nothing fancy and the rates are affordable. The veterinarian on staff is skilled and practical and will assist you in making any pet related decisions. This is a "no frills" office with stray kittens waiting to be adopted and specials on neutering these sweet little orphans. Dr Giles has small children who fequently visit mom at work and are never a distraction. It just shows how career and family can work together. Dogs and cats are the specialty here but small exotic pets are welcome. Little waiting time, and emergencies are treated at any time with just a call!

PROS: Reasonable prices and the vet is involved in community animal projects.
CONS: Can be tricky to find if you are not a local resident.
