I don't understand the negative reviews! I know going in that it might take a little while because of it being a hand wash. Be prepared to wait, or take your lunch, or go to Starbucks or Tuesday Morning across the street. Jeez, relax a little! If you're in a hurry, you probably need to go when they open, or just wait until you have more time. I've always gotten a great wash there, and the staff is incredibly friendly and outgoing. They actually smile and say thank you. I'd rather pay $15 for an outside wash then to have to do it myself. If you want your car vacuumed, splurge the few more dollars. I'll keep giving them my business, albeit a little less frequently because of the water shortage.
Pros: Great service, great waiting area, shopping/dining across the street
Cons: Sometimes slower than I'd like
I think the other two reviews are misleading. Look at the overall score and you'll see that Avril's is highly rated. I usually wash my car myself, so I am VERY hesitant to take my car to a car wash. I've been to Avril's about 5 times. Yes, every time I've had to wait a long time, so bring a book or magazine to keep yourself occupied (unless you are like me and feel the need to keep an eye on your car the whole time). I'm happy to say I trust them enough that I'm over that now : ) BUT- the reason for the wait is because they are hand-washing your car- it *should* take a long time. It's not as perfect as when I do it myself, but I don't expect it to be. It's not a detail service, it's a $15 car wash. For the time and money spent, I am quite satisfied with the quality. I haven't had streaks or incomplete washes. Wheels have been clean, and my wheels are a challenge. They use high quality, environmentally friendly products. It is worth what you pay and saves me time when necessary. Staff is friendly, waiting area is clean and a/c. I have only been to the Briarcliff location.
Pros: Clean, friendly atmosphere
Cons: Long wait time (but expected for hand wash)
overall, I was very unimpressed with the wash that I purchased. First of all, it cost me almost 15 dollars for just an exterior wash. For 15 dollars, you should vaccum the car as well. Also, when I got home, I noticed that there was still dirt all over the bottom of my car and there were spots that had not been dried. If you've got 15 bucks to spend on nice people, however, this is the place for you. The staff members were friendly.
Pros: Friendly
Cons: Expensive, Poor Quality
Not only did I wait an hour (when there were only four other customers ahead of me), but the windows were streaked and the drying was incomplete. I watched my car sit in the sun for 12 minutes after the wash before anybody drove it to the drying area. Very dissapointed.
Pros: Nice waiting area
Cons: Slow, Not thorough
