the front desk staff was not the most friendliest. They were borderline rude and really short. when arriving the doctor asked me if it was my dogs first visit and I replied yes, after that it was a brief, non interactive appointment. It was so fast that I wasn't able to asked all of the questions and concerns that I had. The doctor did not explain the medicine that was being administered neither did he offer comfort to my dog. Another thing that was really disturbing was after he checked my dogs temperature with the thermometer in her rectum, I noticed that the thermometer did not have any protective covering over it. I didn't know what to say , because what if the thermometer had been previously inserted into another animal that had an infection. Also I found the doctor to be very forceful and harsh with my dog. Even though she is still an animal, I treat her as if she is a baby and I wish that he could have did the same. After the cold unprofessional check up I proceeded to check out. I was presented a total and was not even offered a receipt . I then asked for a receipt to only receive a slip of paper with nothing itemized so that I could know what I was being charged for. I would not recommend this place to anyone, ill stick with pet smart because they are corporate and are held to a standard. I was not happy with this appointment because it seemed as if it was a get in get out give me your money type of business. DO NOT GO HERE!

I have used Dr. Jeffcoat for 7 years and I think he is really good with my animals. I have taken a cat to him for shots and surgery and now I have taken my little chihuahua to him for the past 5 years and he is great with them. My mom also uses Dr. Jeffcoat. He does have nice cars but that has nothing to do with his vet skills. In my opinion, he is a good doctor.

Ihave 3 dog`s over 50 lbs. after paying 300$ for my puppie to be spayed as well as shots updated ect., I still had 2 other dog`s that need meds,as well as office visits. Once upon a time Dr. Jeffcoat would allow "Petmed "comparison pricing. In June 2 wks. later, he would not authorize the Rx that he had in the past. When I called and spoke personally to him he said he was loosing office visit money.???????. I would love to see my Vet bills paid up front posted, and see how many office visits I made, walking out paying no less than $100.00, for what ever the reason. At one time he was a caring Vet. Today I feel he is after the almighty $, more than the " Pet`s I have trusted him with. He is colder..........and his Vehicles are Hotter.I have to say all of his staff have been very kind.

Our entire family has been using Dr Jeffcoat for over a decade. Dr Jeffcoat has been the BEST vet we have been too in the greater Augusta Area. Highland Animal Hospital and Columbia County Vet on Washington road have killed 3 of my animals over the years. Dr jeffcoat is not just good on price, but he is also great with animals. He doesnt suggest expensive surgeries to fix a cut ear.

Just disappointed in the service I have been getting versus the money. At first he seemed less expensive, but as the years have rolled by , I feel that the service is not so great and so all in all , you get what you pay for. I am looking for a new vet for my dogs. Our recent loss of our beloved pet has lead me to shop for a new Vet. Sorry Dr. Jeff-coat. I think she could have been saved and you could have been more caring , just not really an animal lover or something is missing in your manners. You won't be seeing us anymore.
Still feel this way after a couple of months, I found a new vet in North Augusta, CSRA Life Saver, they are very reasonable, we will just have to see as time goes on what is what..

I brought my two nine week old puppies here for routine shots and have no complaints about the vet or staff. Both were friendly and caring with the pets, answered all my questions and even made recommendations for boarding my pets over the holidays. This vet was recommended by the breeders who sold us the puppies and they have been using him happily for years.

Dr. Jeffcoat uses force when treating animals. I have had problems with him during all three of my visits. He took my cat's 'boots' off, and used so much force. He directed my brother and I to leave the room, while he tried to get the boots off the cat. (He said 'she' was acting up simply because I was laughing...I've never seen a vet treat an animal in such an inhumane way before...I was in total shock!) Was auch immer! He needs to learn how to focus his attention on his business, not his 'toys' a.k.a. fast cars...Porsche. I highly recommend Dr. Walker and Dr. Iverson of Highland Animal Hospital. They have treated my grandfather's cat with such care over the years. Don't take any animals to Dr. Jeffcoat because of the price, simply look at the ways he treats animals...it's not right!

PROS:
CONS: He is unprofesssional...simply put! take the advice or leave it!!

My cat had an injury to her leg that wouldn't heal and it looked like it might have been broken. I took her to Jeffcoat twice. He said he did an x-ray charged me for it, as well as for the visit and the medications. He said she was ok just give her the medication. I followed his instruction. When my cat continued to get worse, I took her to another vet, who did an x-ray and found that she had infection in the bone. It had gotten so bad that the leg had to be amputated at the hip. I felt that if Jeffcoat did do an x-ray, he would have seen this. I went back to Jeffcoat a couple of days later and asked to see the x-ray he charged me for. He claimed they were stored in another location. I never saw the x-ray. This left me feeling scamed by someone I felt I should have been able to trust. I don't recommend him for anytihng other than basic services like immunizations.

I have taken my petshere before. Dr. is good. Staff is okay. Their hours aren't that good. If you have an emergency, hard to get them to call you back.
