As an Asian American, I've eaten at my share of good Chinese restaraunts. In the tradition of Pung Mie comes Canton Cooks, a tasty place located on the Sandy Springs exit off i-285 (East if you're coming from 75, West if you're coming from Gwinnett, 400 and 85).
Their egg-drop soup is everything I expected--good texture, tangy taste, plenty of hot sauce and fried noodles to accompany. I had great Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Shrimp, with a nice fried ice cream for dessert.
The drink selection is limited, but appropriate as it does not detract from the food. While the wait staff is courteous, their English could use improvement. Thankfully, our friends speak Cantonese and we were just fine. But that is the mark of a great Asian restaraunt--when Asians themselves frequent it more than anyone else, you know it has to be good.
PROS: Best Chinese food in Atlanta, hands down
CONS: Waiters speak just enough English to take your order
