I found Brittany Leigh on the web. I had been to lots of other bridal shops where although I liked the relatively cheap prices, I felt like 'just another bride;' I plan on only being married once and I wanted the whole experience to feel special. I called and made an appointment; I wanted the last one of the day... I couldn't make it earlier. And then I got stuck in traffic and got there at 4:50 :-(. I walked in apologizing to the sales lady, but she smiled, said she was happy I made it and ushered me in. I absolutely loved the boutique-y feel of the place, and the viewing area. She wanted to know what kind of wedding I wanted. I hadn't thought that far... I realized I wasn't really ready to actually buy anything, I needed to browse. She gave me some catalogs to take home with me. I found two Alfred Angelo dresses that I liked, and she let me try them on. We both agreed they didn't suit me. She brought out one that I wouldn't have picked for myself, but that looked AMAZING on me. I would have kept that one, but she advised me to do some more shopping around first only because she realized I hadn't thought this through. She did warn me not to take too long though... It was April and I was getting married overseas in October! By this time it was almost 6pm... about an hour beyond closing time. I was so impressed with her patience and that she wasn't pushy and didn't blow me off when she realized I probably wasn't going to commit to anything that day. I went back with my mum and aunt and ended up getting an Alfred Angelo dress for me and 5 Jim Hjelm dresses for my bridesmaids. The girls couldn't fit their dresses in person, I sent their measurements in to Brittany Leigh. The dresses came so well matched that only 2 needed slight alterations. The lady who did the alterations at our overseas destination remarked on how lucky we were that none of the dresses came in too small. I couldn't have asked for more! I've sent a couple of my friends there and they've loved it too. Thank you, Miss Molly and Brittany Leigh, for helping make my wedding day wonderful.

Started off as all purchases should, friendly service and they seemed to know what they were doing. Thats where it all ended, paid extra to ship the dress, which did not arrive on time, alterations were a mess, staff were rude. Ended up having to buy a dress elsewhere at the last moment. I made an appt (first thing in the morning, first time slot) to look at Bridesmaids dresses, she called me twice to confirm that we were still coming. My MOH and got there and walked in and we could hear two women arguing VERY loudly in another language in the back. They didnt hear the bell on the door when we came in apparently and kept on fighting. I opened the door again so the bell would ring. Not only did they ignore the bell, they got louder, screaming at each other. So I reached up and smacked the bell. It rang so loud they couldnt ignore it and finally got quiet and they came out.

Still we are the only people there, they knew we were coming in to look at bridesmaids dresses, but all she seemed concerned about was selling me a wedding gown. She waved at the racks of bridesmaids dresses and handed us come catalogs and basically ignored us. The dresses were crammed into the racks so tight it was impossible to really look at them- we tried on a couple and decided to leave.

Still she was trying to sell me a gown, I explained to her I already had my dress that it was at my parents house- and she insisted she could get me a better deal, she wanted to know where I had bought my dress, who the designer was and how much I had paid for it!! I dont understand why she would insist she could get me a better deal, I already had my dress, its not like I could return it, or that I wanted to. she tried to get me to make another appt before we left and I said I didnt think we would be needing another appt, I told her honestly that we had heard them arguing and had been standing in the store for a good 10 minutes before they came out to talk to us and that the whole thing made us very uncomfortable- she acted like she didnt know what I was talking about. After all that and flat out telling her that we would not be buying the dresses there, she still called me twice after that trying to get me to make another appt. I didnt answer the phone.

I ordered a $1400 designer bridal gown from this boutique. I ordered the dress the day after Christmas and was told that it would be in February 5th. That date came and went and my dress still was not in. All of a sudden I recieved a phone call saying that it was in around the end of February. I called and confronted the sales lady who lied and said that she had no paperwork on my dress that she ordered. I called the manufacturer of the dress and reported my suspcions. I then told BL that I knew they were trying to scam me and that I reported them....magically within minutes the sales lady called me and said that she would re order the dress again and it would be here in June and my wedding is in August. This same lady also completely screwed up a BM's dress order and also took credit card orders and money by phone without providing anyone with a recepit or any type of proof of their order. This store is so shady it makes no sense, they went out of their way to place the old sample dress in a nice bag with paper and plastic but was dumb enough to not even clean the dress or fix the ripped tags. I caught on to them and I have alerted the dress designer of their scam. I doubt that they will be able to sell this particular designers dresses anymore and I hope that this business is shut down all together at some point once I am done with them! I am very sad that they would ruin a brides special day like this!!!

I regretfully chose BLB to handle my bridesmaids' outfits for my fall 07 wedding.

When a bridal salon places an order from a line based on that line's sizing chart, the rep placing the order is supposed to go with the size corresponding to your largest msrmnt. The BLB rep placed drastically wrong orders for 5 of my bridesmaids (2-8 sizes too small) based on their *smallest* msrnnts to try to force them to pay big $ for drastic altrtns (i.e., letting out or sewing panels in, which costs more than taking smthg in). The pieces for my matron of honor and 1 other BM were 6 sizes too big - falling off their bodies. When I complained, the rep said my BMs had either gained or lost too much weight during the 3 mos it had taken for the orders to come in, and that they either needed to diet or get altrtns, whatever fit her purposes. (She couldn't say she had wrong msrmnts because 2 of my BMs got msrd by this same rep - incl. the one whose pieces were too big - and I was diligent about getting correct msrmnts for everyone else.)

According to my future mom-in-law, who worked at Priscilla's of Boston for many years, it's one thing to lose/gain a cpl of pounds so you need a little taking in/letting out (1-2 inches at most). That's what dress fittings are for. But nobody loses/gains *that* much mega-weight (2-8 dress sizes) in 3 mos, requiring such drastic altrtns as to basically re-make the whole dress.

When I went to retrieve the separates so my BMs could use their own seamstresses, I discovered that my MOH had already decided to let BLB do her altrtns, so I had to leave her stuff there. There was no difference in her stuff before and after the one round of altrtns, so it was doubtful they did any work at all, yet they said she needed a 2nd round (surprise!). Do not buy your bridesmaid dresses at Brittany Leigh, even though our dresses were a good deal, it was not worth all the anguish we experienced. First, our dresses were estimated to be in by the end of November, in December they said at the start of the new year. Finally at the end of January they said mid-February, two weeks before my wedding! The owner was dismissive of my anxiety and acted like nothing was wrong. She promised that they could do alterations in three days or less if necessary. But do NOT get your alterations done there. The skirt hems were uneven and the bottom layers hung out below the top skirt layer. They switched two of my bridesmaids' tops so although one fit fine at the first fitting, they switched it with another bridesmaid and altered it, so neither fit at the second fitting. The lady that performs the alterations is not even the person who takes your measurements and pins your adjustments. Two out of three of my bridesmaids had to take the dresses to another seamstress to fix Brittany Leigh's alterations, and all of this happened within two weeks of the wedding. To top it off, they were incredibly rude throughout the entire process.

Do not buy your bridesmaid dresses at Brittany Leigh, even though our dresses were a good deal, it was not worth all the anguish we experienced. First, our dresses were estimated to be in by the end of November, in December they said at the start of the new year. Finally at the end of January they said mid-February, two weeks before my wedding! The owner was dismissive of my anxiety and acted like nothing was wrong. She promised that they could do alterations in three days or less if necessary. But do NOT get your alterations done there. The skirt hems were uneven and the bottom layers hung out below the top skirt layer.
