Worst Color Job Ever!

by Celine E.

Went to colorist Yuri at Junko to get my roots touched up. She did not know which color to use or how to color roots for medium brown hair. My roots turned orange $50.00 later. Now I have to hunt around for another colorist + the cost to fix this mess! Yuri was nice, but lacked experience & ruined my hair. I will never go back to this salon.

Seriously love this place!!

by Tiffany Mooooo

I'm always really nervous about getting my hair cut, but the moment I walked in I felt at ease immediately. The people were friendly and all had great hair :P

My hairstylist was Starr and she did fabulous. She was fun to talk to and my hair came out just the way I wanted. I ask for a fun, short cut with low lights and that's what I got! Thanks Junko

Pros: great service by Starr! and great environment :)

Get great color and cut

by ehg53pearl

I got a hair cut and color by Alison at Junko's, and I have never been more pleased.
She is so pleasant and cares about her customers. My color was exactly as I described to her.
I will always ask for Alison whenever I go back.

Pros: Best hair cut I've ever had

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

great stylist

by awsedr

I have been going to junkos for many years, as have other members of my family. I have used several different stylists and have liked them all. Last week I went in for cut and color and Alison Grimes was my stylist. She is relatively new to town so I just took a chance I would like her. Alison did a fantastic job on my cut and color. I am definitely going to ask for her again.

Pros: location and price

Cons: none

Wonderful and reasonable cut and color

by cer1

I just got my hair cut and colored by Alison here at Junko and I am so pleased! She is very pleasant and cares enough about what you want to even get an example of what you like from a magazine! If you want a reasonably priced cut and partial hi-light, which is waht I got - this is a great place.

Pros: Reasonable price for great cut and color

great experience

by alr07

I had a great experience at Junko salon. Allison, my stylist was excellent and very personable! I came in for a hair cut and stlyle. She listened to me explain the type of cut that I wanted and it turned out even better than I had pictured!! I cant wait to go back for highlights! She used great techniques and was very professional. After moving to a new city and trying to search for a new salon, I have now found an excellent stylist that I will reccomend to all of my friends!

Junko....Great, Friendly, Reasonable

by fifimasi

Junko made my hair experience great because they don't try to sell you the moon or services that you really don't need. I got tired of my old salon always trying to talk me into "low-lights", extra conditioners, products that weren't necessary. Sabrina really listens, explains what her understanding of what I want and we go from there. She runs products specials every now and then and that can really help!

Pros: Sabrina Toro is wonderful..she remembered me after just one

Cons: None....directly acroos the street from my office!

Love going here!

by taylal23

I've never been one to get my haircut regularly bc I could never find a stylist that would be creative and give honest styling opinions about my hair (maybe once a year and always someone different). A friend suggested Sabrina to me and this year, I have been to see her 3 times at Junko! She does a great job with my hair, I get the best compliments and my boyfriend always loves it! She gives me suggestions (what I'm looking for) and gives me tips on ways to do certain styles on my own and other ways to maintain styles. And her availability hours are a plus! Reasonable prices for a fresh new look.

Pros: Sabrina Toro - great stylist! Nice and modern studio

Cons: lots of red lights to get there if you don't live close

Best Place for Digital Perm

by LinLeeB

Akemi and Junko really know their craft and made my visit a wonderful experience. I have Caucasian hair and have had two TRs, however, I'm trying to grow it out and the stick straight ends just looked horrible. So through email correspondence with Junko, she told me the possibilities and I came in for a consultation. Akemi did my digital perm and I absolutely love it! I plan to get another one when my hair grows out more. The salon and staff were prompt and courteous and overall truly enjoyable. I have been to other very pricey salons that just can't compare to Junko's service and value. I recommend this salon to anyone who values good hair and good people.

Pros: Excellent service and ability

Never going anywhere else again

by jkotler

I started going to Junko on the recommendation of a colleague when I moved to Atlanta 10 years ago. Usually saw Philip or Sidney and when they left, followed them through an interminable number of salons (why do stylists move so often???). Then decided to try a very high end salon for kicks. I got a decent cut and terrific color, but at a very very high price. (Not just money, but experienced what seems to be endemic--"WHO cut your hair? It's a disaster!" and "You MUST have color: your hair is green." (It wasn't, and I had booked only for a cut.) I've never understood this constant dissing by stylists of the last person's work.

Long story short, today I went back to Junko for an appointment with Tatiana. The FIRST thing she said was "that was a good cut you got." And it had been. So nice not to hear the usual carping. But my hair was a mess--frizzy and dry and with no shape left. Tatiana COMPLETELY transformed it!! PLUS she explained everything she was doing and the products she was using (I got home and went straightaway online to buy Moroccan Oil--fabulous stuff!). She showed me how to style it at home and how to cut my bangs between cuts..

I look ten years younger (a major accomplishment, because I am really OLD) and my husband is still staring at me.

I paid $50 for this cut and in these times, that's still a lot for me, being only semi-employed--though MUCH less than the aforementioned high end place. But now I am feeling bad that I only tipped 20%. Next time....

Pros: Tatiana

Cons: None

Excellent customer service with friendly, professional, and

by NJanis

Good afternoon, I have spent a great morning getting color with high and low lights. Sabrina and Yuri are experts matching skin tones and color. My girls and I make a day of grooming followed by lunch. We are all professionals and appreciate the accommodating hours of business such as Saturday or Sunday.
Junko has remodeled the salon, beautifully, and the atmosphere is great. More than
the physical appearance of the salon the atmosphere generated by the Junko team just makes the experience awesome. We always feel welcome and special.

A good cut and a nice color

by SmithyGal

I went here because I was in the shopping center running errands. I needed a trim and figured why not? They took me immediately and were very nice and professional. I ended up getting a color glaze to freshen up my color. I was pleased with the cut and color. If you need something quick I would say this place can be relied on to do a fine job.

Trust Your Hair to Junko Hair Studio

by angelcu02

In 2004, long before we were married, my husband was living in Atlanta and I was living outside of GA. During a weekend stay with him, I was in need of a haircut and opened the yellow pages to see if I could find a salon with an opening. That weekend was my 1st haircut with Shelly at Junko Hair Studio and I haven't trusted my hair to another salon or stylist since. Shelley is awesome with precision cuts and highlights and is great at meeting her customer's needs.

Pros: Precision Cuts, Highlights, Customer Service

From Frizz to Fab!

by EllynLG

I've been going to Junko Hair Studio for about 10 years. Junko recently recommended that I get the NEW Keratin Hair Straightening Treatment for frizzy hair. It was the one of the best decisions I have made! Everything she told me would happen with my hair has happened. My hair is sleek, straight, silky, and beautiful. The frizz is gone, styling is so fast, no flat iron or round brush! People have asked me if I've had my hair colored, cut, or that I've lost weight. None of these happened. The only thing I've done is the Keratin Treatment! Despite the hot weather and humidity, my hair looks and feels great (No Frizz)! In the past I would have been a giant frizz ball the second I walked outside. It should last 3-5 months depending on months depending on how often I wash my hair. It's a miracle! Thanks Junko and all the staff for making me so happy and for making my hair look SO great! NO MORE FRIZZ EVER AGAIN!!

Pros: Keratin Hair Straigtening

by colordisaster

if you need haircoloring- see Ryan! He did an outstanding job fixing my hair color! I had gone to some salon in Midtown and left with disgusting carrot color (yeah! she looked professional but turned out that's all she had as a hairdresser! It was SALON ME)....cried for a day and went to see Ryan...He gave me my beautiful color back in no time!!! I will be back there and only there!!!

Pros: decent prices and experienced stuff

Best cuts and color in the city!

by gib2son

I cannot imagine anyone but Junko cutting and coloring my hair. I discovered Junko Hair Studio in 1992 and she has been my hair stylist since then. Friends and strangers have complimented my hair styles by Junko for years (I love it when that happens). Thank you, Junko and staff, for always being professional, prompt and knowlegable.

star treatment! ask for Akiko!

by staceface

Let me just say, if you are looking for the BEST TREATMENT in an atlanta salon look no further!
I am a natural dirty blonde but for two years embraced my inner angelina jolie (circa: billy bob). Needless to say I was dark, very dark. A few months ago I decided it was time to lighten up. However, I experienced the misfortune of horrible highlights (at another salon which will go nameless) that gave my new growth on the top of my head highlights but the length was still dark brown. I looked like a nightmare.
I got on citysearch, saw Junko's coupon, and read some reviews claiming it to be afforadble. So I booked the appt with AKIKO, a junior stylist. (I know at this point you're thinking I should've opted for a senior stylist given my situation - but I was looking to spend as little as I could get away with.)
It was a Saturday and they were very busy but I was greeted nicely at the door and introduced to my stylist. After much deliberation Akiko got started. She explained to me how complicated it would be but that she would do her best. Next, the SALON OWNER, JUNKO came over and made sure I was comfortable and worked a little with my hair too. I WAS SO NERVOUS that I was about to get stuck with a $300 tab. I mean, when have you ever had the salon's owner herself AND a stylist work on your hair?
When I was finished, I looked INCREDIBLE! My hair was perfectly dirty blonde again. I could hardly believe she pulled it off. I was so impressed I said I will write a review as soon as I get home! Also, my bill was only $150! What? I gladly pulled out my coupon and debit card, paid and tipped, then floated on a cloud right out of there!
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SALON TO TREAT YOU LIKE YOU'RE ROLLING IN THE DOUGH, (even if you're not) AND GET YOUR HAIR STYLED, CUT, OR DYED TO PERFECTION GO TO JUNKO.....AND ASK FOR AKIKO OR JUNKO.

Pros: friendly perfectionists!

Hair Happily Ever After

by goldsteingold

I have always had extremely curly, long hair that is very difficult to manage, and getting a haircut is something I dread. No one can ever seem to cut it right. A friend mentioned to me that she has been going to Junko's for 3 years now, and loves it. I decided to give it a try. I have been to Junko's four times and used two different stylists (the stylist I usually use was away one weekend). I was very happy with all of my experiences there. I have had my hair both colored and cut there, and have never received more compliments.

my worst cut ever, but everyone is incredibly nice

by lauranic

I have been looking for a salon in Atlanta since I moved here. I did tons of research and decided to give Junko a shot. My hair is very long and has been maintained by the same stylist in Florida for 4 years now. I went in for long layers and came out with a complete disaster. My thick long locks were absolutely destroyed. The stylist kept thinning and kept thinning my hair. The layers are very chunky and uneven. It's awful. I have no idea what i'm going to do. Judging by the looks of it, i'm going to have to have it all cut off and start over again.

Over 16 years business in Buckhead Atlanta tells me the salon is doing right for the client

by traptrap

Thier customer care is the greatest. Coloring skill is the best in town. I saw one customer with green hair came from other salon to have fixed. She was crying but she was smiling when she left.
The Salon seems always looking for and trying for a better service for customers and the place has a mature feeling.

Doesn't get any better than this!

by grace2

I've been going to Junko's for 14 years. Upon moving to Atlanta, I tried a Quick Clips kind of place but wasn't satisfied. A co-worker recommended Junko. It was the best advice I had ever gotten. I color my hair red. As anyone with red color knows, it fades like the dickens and needs to be redone regularly. With Junko's care and products, I can prolong the color so my gray roots don't show too badly and the fading is minimized. The diversity of the clientele is truly amazing. Yet, Junko's is able to satisfy customers young and old with a variety of hair issues. My Mom lives in Florida and I made her take my hair appointment during one of her visits. She LOVED the experience. Her cut and treatement were beyond compare. For me, my hair always looks fresh and stylish. I come out looking like a million dollars!

Pros: Professional stylists who know their business, great atmosphere

My First Time

by aeflick

I'm a man in his late 20's. I recently moved ITP and had to find a new person to cut my hair. When I called Junko (JOON-ko) the receptionist was quite pleasant and friendly in helping me set up an appointment. When I arrived, one of their senior stylists, Kevin, introduced himself and spent about 5 minutes just talking about what I was looking for and what options I had. He was not just professional and skilled, but a good conversationalist as well. also, although I wasn't pressured or even asked about it, I picked up some new product for my hair. the total visit (senior stylist + product + tip) cost about $45. I left quite pleased with my cut as well as the level and quality of service I received.

Unbelievable in Atlanta!

by chrissy1211

I have spent so much money on my hair in the past and had to downsize - I found this studio (recommended from a friend) and realized how much money I have thrown away needlessly! This is the best value - Very talented people here and not the big sticker shock. I'm still waiting for the catch - seems too good to be true! I get a partial highlight and cut for $115 - Unheard of in Atlanta!

Pros: cool atmosphere, Friendly, easy hours

Cons: tight space, nothing , nothing

Best Thermal Reconditioning

by 6080

I have wavy and frizzy hair and I was spending almost 45 minutes drying my hair every day.
Junko recommended thermal reconditioning and she introduced me to Akemi.
After the service, my hair felt so silky and I only spend less than 10 minutes to dry my hair.
I should have tried TR many years ago. I didn't want to do it because it was $500 but I was wrong!!!
It was worth the money.
My hair looks and feels wonderful! Thank you Akemi!

by alica56

I walked into this salon one day looking for an emergency haircut, and I was very pleased with the friendly service. I ended up getting my high lights touched up which I think is one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this cozy place to anyone who simply doesn't have $150 to spend on color! They are very reasonable.

Pros: good parking, inexpensive
